The Sea of Despair stretched before them like an endless nightmare.

The water was murky and black, resembling thick oil spreading endlessly across the horizon. As the waves moved like those of an ordinary ocean, strange glitching sounds echoed continuously from its surface, creating an unsettling sense of distortion.

Grey carefully observed the corrupted sea.

He could feel a corruption-type property radiating from the water, and for some reason, the energy felt strangely familiar.

It reminded him of the attributes of Abyssal Energy.

"This place has some connection to the Abyss," Grey muttered thoughtfully.

Seraphina brought the airplane down near the shore and turned toward everyone with a serious expression.

"We can’t go any further than this with the aircraft," she explained carefully. "The corruption will eat through it within minutes, so we’ll have to fly from here."

Grey didn’t mind that at all.

Flying was easier anyway.

Just as they were preparing to exit the airplane, Eterna suddenly manifested beside Grey in her physical form.

"Grey, I have a problem," she said with a slight frown. "I can’t travel through the Information Layer anymore. There’s some strange glitch around this place."

Hearing her words, Grey raised an eyebrow with visible interest.

"Interesting," he replied. "I guess you’ll have to stick with us the old-fashioned way, then."

They exited the airplane together, and immediately after, Seraphina stored it back inside her inventory space.

Commander Vaelon approached Grey with his usual stern expression.

"We should remain extremely cautious from this point onward," he warned in a low voice. "This place is very difficult to maneuver through safely."

Then, he glanced toward the churning black waters beneath them.

"The Sea of Despair can suddenly change without any warning," Vaelon continued. "It might even notice us and attack if we’re not careful."

Grey looked toward the glitching surface of the sea with curiosity rather than fear.

"The sea can attack us?" he asked with amusement. "That’s pretty cool, actually."

Vaelon didn’t seem to appreciate his casual attitude toward the danger.

"The Sacred Mountain is still far away," the commander added. "We should move quickly and avoid drawing unnecessary attention to ourselves."

Immediately after, the group took flight together and rose high above the corrupted sea.

Grey observed the landscape as they traveled.

The black waters stretched endlessly in every direction beneath them, while massive waves occasionally rose from the surface for no apparent reason.

At the same time, the strange glitching sounds continued without interruption, making it seem as though reality itself was breaking apart below them.

They had been flying for around thirty minutes when Grey suddenly sensed something approaching rapidly from behind.

"We’ve got company," he announced.

Just then, several figures emerged from behind a massive wave of black water and shot toward them at incredible speed.

They were Yellow Devils.

There were at least twenty of them, all armed with corrupted weapons and radiating hostile killing intent.

"White Devils have been spotted!" one of them shouted loudly. "Kill them all and take their cores!"

Commander Vaelon immediately moved to intercept the approaching attackers.

"Protect the Princess!" he ordered sharply.

Hearing his command, the three 13th Rank guards instantly formed a defensive formation around Seraphina.

However, Grey was already moving toward the enemy.

Luminous circuits spread across his body as he shot toward the Yellow Devils at blinding speed.

The first Yellow Devil swung a corrupted blade toward Grey’s head with all his strength.

Grey caught the blade between two fingers.

Then, with a slight movement of his hand, he effortlessly snapped the weapon in half.

"That’s a pretty weak weapon," Grey commented with a grin. "You should consider upgrading sometime."

Immediately after, he flicked his wrist.

The Yellow Devil was sent flying directly into three of his companions.

Two more Yellow Devils attacked Grey from opposite sides, attempting to catch him off guard.

Grey abruptly spun between their attacks and delivered devastating palm strikes to both of their chests.

The two Yellow Devils were sent crashing into the Sea of Despair below.

The moment their bodies touched the black water, the corrupted sea immediately began consuming them.

"Help! The sea is eating me!" one of them screamed in terror.

However, before anyone could help him, his body completely disappeared beneath the surface.

Grey watched the scene with a look of pity.

"You probably shouldn’t have fallen in there."

The remaining Yellow Devils stared at him with visible fear.

"What the hell is this human?!" one of them shouted in disbelief. "He’s only exhibiting a 10th Rank aura, yet he took down a 12th Rank Devil by himself?!"

"It doesn’t matter what rank he is!" their leader shouted desperately. "Just kill him anyway!"

Hearing this, five Yellow Devils immediately charged toward Grey together.

Their attacks combined into a coordinated assault from multiple directions.

Grey activated his Divine Thunder without any hesitation.

Lightning abruptly erupted from his body and struck all five attackers simultaneously.

The Yellow Devils convulsed in mid-air under the devastating force of the lightning.

Then, one after another, they plummeted into the Sea of Despair beneath them.

Commander Vaelon and the other guards handled the remaining Yellow Devils with practiced efficiency.

Within minutes, the entire ambush party had been completely eliminated.

Immediately after the battle ended, Seraphina flew toward Grey with an impressed expression.

"That was amazing!" she exclaimed cheerfully. "You took out half of them by yourself!"

Grey simply smiled at her praise.

Then, Commander Vaelon approached with his usual stern and unimpressed expression.

"It’s nothing special," he said dismissively. "You are also capable of achieving such feats, Princess."

Seraphina rolled her eyes at his comment.

"It doesn’t matter what you say. Grey is really strong," she said with a bright smile.

Vaelon shook his head but said nothing more about it.

However, a thought briefly crossed his mind.

Has the Devil Princess taken a liking to this human?

"We should keep moving," he said instead. "More Yellow Devils might be lurking in the area."

They continued flying across the vast Sea of Despair together.

Hours gradually passed as they carefully navigated through the corrupted landscape.

Occasionally, they encountered small groups of hostile creatures.

However, every encounter was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the group.

Finally, Grey spotted something unusual in the distance.

It was a mountain.

The enormous mountain floated high above the Sea of Despair, hovering impossibly in the air without any visible support.

Its scale was massive, and its peak stretched toward the crimson sky of Hell.

However, what truly caught Grey’s attention was what connected the mountain to the sea below.

A massive tube-like structure extended from the base of the mountain into the black waters.

The mountain was continuously absorbing the despair from the Sea of Despair, drawing the corrupted energy upward through the tube.

"There it is," Seraphina said, awe evident in her voice. "The Sacred Mountain of Fate."

Grey stared at the incredible structure with surprise in his eyes.

Just then, his comprehension suddenly stirred violently.

It reacted strongly to something about the function of the mountain.

[Ding!]

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the Sacred Mountain of Fate, you’ve gained comprehension into its functions and control!]

Grey’s mind was immediately flooded with an overwhelming amount of understanding.

Information regarding the mountain’s true purpose rapidly entered his mind.

"This mountain..." Grey said slowly. "It’s changing despair into fate... huh?"
