Chapter 677: The Breach (1)
The city was now in panic. A battle raged outside the boundaries of Argon City, and inside, power was rapidly shifting. Pioneers were scrambling to flee. Skyscrapers disengaged from their foundations and launched upward, their anti-gravity thrusters screaming as they departed the war-torn sector. The culmination of the skirmish was about to reach its finale. The streets below buzzed with chaos, vehicles swerved through the air, and alarms echoed through every open channel.
However, the forces surrounding the building remained united and organized.
Lowengren now stood on a rooftop several blocks from the tower as he issued numerous orders. A full-frontal assault with precise details was issued. The micromanaging skills of Harker and Lowengren addressed even how the soldiers would aim when the order to attack was given.
"Sir. All forces are on standby." A soldier reported.
"Activate all weapons and calibrate for attack." Harker said calmly beside him. "He’s heading up. We deploy in three minutes." Harker declared as he gave the orders. His voice, steady and emotionless, was calibrated to sound confident to any listeners.
Lowengren nodded and activated the field distortion surrounding the building. At once, several key distorters came online. Temporal loops and pressure-fold traps shimmered around the tower. Numerous turrets rose from hidden compartments, locking onto the tower’s windows and walls. It was as if the entire army that Lowengren led would be shooting the building down.
All the soldiers prepared
But this was all a lie.
The real strike was already in motion.
Inhumans could easily count to several hundreds in a second. At their level of perception, it was impossible to get one off guard. But this was precisely what Harker and Lowengren were training for. Their acting, their pacing, and even their tone are all designed to mislead.
The truth of Harker’s statement would cause everyone listening to trust them.
They knew Seeker’s ability. As the disciple of the Realm King in the alternate former life, he could sense and even ’hear’ for up to two kilometers, even if the sound would not reach him! He listened to the quantum resonance of thought and voice alike.
A lie was issued since the start. Even when Seeker was headed up the building to meet them for the first time in this world, Seeker could already hear them. But they played it out as if they believed Seeker couldn’t hear them.
Despite the pair being in the middle of their task, they suddenly vanished.
In that centi-second, the two suddenly launched their attack.
No explosive burst, no boosters or sudden explosive attacks, their flight was rather quiet. They timed it precisely in between the overlapping pulses of the field distortions, slipping through gaps like ghosts.
The pair transformed into their Super-Sentai forms.
Like the Rangers from the stories of post-modern Earth, Harker wore a sleek, radiant blue suit. Segmented armor plates assembled instantly over his body. The design displayed a draconic armor, with his helmet featuring elongated edges that curled slightly like whiskers. His chest bore the azure emblem of a coiling dragon, scales etched with light-reflecting nanofibers. Twin gauntlets extended from his arms, lined with miniature boosters for sudden burst movements. The armor moved with him like a second skin, as if it were part of his nervous system. As he took to the air, wings shimmered for a second, then tucked in and vanished into his back.
Lowengren transformed as well. He was clad in a dark suit, matte black with shifting fractal patterns across the surface. His armor mirrored the ancient shell of the Black Tortoise, with heavily reinforced plates and a low, rumbling hum that emanated from its inner core. His shoulders were broad, covered in modular plating that rippled like a protective shell. His helmet bore two small horns, and his eyes glowed with a soft purple sheen.
Around their waist, a belt blinked with dimensional signatures, disguising his position from predictive algorithms.
The pair had a pseudo-Thought Process of Lennox! In their perception, they could now perform what only Arthur could perform before! Instant Calculation!
Together, they flew up with extreme speed. Wind curved around their forms, displaced but silent. The curvature of the tower loomed before them, each floor flickering with activity.
The two hurriedly move. They knew that even in such a cunning quick attack, Seeker may be able to sense it through Zone or his replication of Arthur’s thought process!
But as they rose up, they saw the steel structure of the building suddenly heating up!
BOOOM! BOOOOM! BOOOM!
A series of explosions rocked the side of the towers.
Harker and Lowengren were forced to move back.
"He’s wrecking the dealing table! Heh! But I did expect this." Lowengren smiled.
"Activate the weapons!" Harker ordered.
The soldiers activated it.
"Black Tortoise Shell!" Lowengren shouted as his suit glowed. His suit was the focal point of the four pillars. It resonated with his suit and a dark energy rose from it.
BOOOOM!
The dark force field created a dome that covered the entire block! It rose quickly and created a black cube in the middle of the city.
"That shield is stronger than those force fields that the WGP Emperors could create! It takes a Ranked Hero to break it!" Lowengren laughed as his counter-plan was issued!
He knew that Seeker would try to break the dealing table as he needed to escape the web of lies. And with that in mind, Lowengren prepared to make sure that the dealer would deal at the same table!
The shield could cancel out sound, wireless signals, and all other forms of communication. No one could hear, see, and perceive what was hidden inside.
As the buildings exploded and the black shield covered the dome, Seeker flew up to great heights.
"Foolish! You blocked everything in here, now no Presider will see what I can actually do!" Seeker laughed.
A sword was in his hands.
"You are just pushing me to a point that I have to Overcome!" Seeker mocked.
"Even in this virtual world, I am still... an Overcomer!" The wind gathered on his hands and the form of Omricon’s blade appeared.
A blade that could cut everything and even sever the codes of the virtual reality formed.
Harker and Lowengren’s expression darkened for the first time.
"That sword...! A Rank Hero!" Harker was amazed.
"Damn it! It was physically impossible for him to reach rank Hero in this world!" Lowengren cursed.
"Physically impossible? Lowengren, that is a lie!" Seeker laughed.
They underestimated an Overcomer!
"The Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword! By the Words of Him, the world was made, and by His very words will the elements disintegrate!"
SLASH!
