Chapter 675: Lies that Make you Gamble

The entire floor was now full of gunshots and attacks.

With Seeker’s dashing and slicing attacks that cut through walls, many civilians began to run away from the exposed rooms.

The residents and workers of that floor were all being attacked, and while some tried to fight back, their techs were just far from capable of defeating them.

But a group of soldiers were ignoring all the other civilians as they were ordered to take down Seeker.

The chaos and the noise limited Seeker’s senses as he could not discern if there were more soldiers of Lowengren or Harker’s caliber.

Seeker clenched his fist. If he decided that the two were not among the soldiers, and they were, all the girls would surely die.

But if he fought the soldiers assuming that they were there, Seeker would be too drained to continue.

"That Lowengren! He’s forcing me to gamble against him!" Seeker cursed as he finally decided.

"They can’t be there! Even if they had Lennox’s help, they could not create so many thought processes that could aim and shoot!"

His golden arm was equipped once more and he turned to the girls.

The girls were still confused.

"Get to positions and shoot while I distract them!" He ordered once more.

"Damn it!" Liani crushed as her arm transformed and created a small blade.

"Take these drugs! It will calm us all!" Linai moved and quickly injected the drug into the other girls.

"Ahh!" One of the girls was surprised but then, she did not shout or panic. Her body somehow became calm. She knew that Liani gave her a drug and logically knew what to do. She walked to the front and her gun was aiming at the end of the corridor.

Liani moved quickly and all the girls were drugged.

The now armored women ran ahead and began to act calm. The drugs also increase their perception and calm their emotions.

"Alright. Follow my orders!" Seeker began to assign each their task.

The trembling stopped and they quickly followed the orders of Seeker just in time for the soldiers to arrive.

Seeker shot forward with his golden arm at the ready.

The first soldier that turned from the corridor quickly shot a bullet.

The reaction, timing, and aim frightened Seeker, and Seeker almost used his Inhuman power.

"No! That’s just his instructions! Think clearly!" Seeker told himself as he saw through the lie of Lowengren. The bullet wasn’t aimed accurately. It was a random shot that was pointing to Seeker’s general direction.

SLAP!

Seeker slapped the beam with his golden arm in frustration.

He then ran close to the wall as the soldiers aimed at him.

Seeker slashed through the walls of a nearby door and went inside the room.

At that moment, the girls shot their salvo.

"What?! Those are our allies?!"

"It’s the tech of that Fresks! She’s there! Capture her!"

The soldiers deployed force fields that appeared like tactical shields to block the attack.

But as they were distracted, Seeker slashed at the walls nearby and dashed through numerous rooms, cutting down the walls as he appeared at the side of the soldiers and quickly slashed off the arms of the soldiers with the shields.

SLASH!

With shields deactivated, the bullets now blasted and blasted through every soldier who was surprised.

The girls saw that their attacks killed the first few soldiers and did not stop.

POW!

Seeker began to push the ones hidden at the corners of the wall into the open area and were all quickly dispatched by the girls.

"Hold your fire! There’s no one here!" Seeker ordered and the girls immediately stopped.

Seeker then began to take the armbands as the armors vanished.

"Was this your first kill?" Seeker asked.

"...We’ve killed Planteds before. But they were all criminals. We’ve never killed..." Emily couldn’t finish her sentence.

"Criminals? Is that what you’re family told you?"

Emily was stunned at Seeker’s casual comment.

"We have to hurry to the rest." Seeker could hear gunshots from everywhere.

The battle he had had caused the residents and offices of the floor to be chaotic.

Soldiers were breaching from many sides and the alarm of the building was on full blast.

A lockdown was starting as many rooms were using their defensive protocols.

Metal walls began to cover several rooms while many others used their techs to escape and fly out of the room or evacuate the entire room itself as it launched itself from the floor!

The building shook as explosions and vibrations could be felt.

An explosion rang out from the distance within the floor they were at.

"Let’s just save ourselves! They could already be dead...!" One of the new girls exclaimed.

"No! Taliana and Kulven come from families who are in the service of Presider Mehkaelos! And besides! That room is armored! I have already activated the defense protocols!" Liani countered.

"Do you think that will stand against their forces?! If not for Finder, we would have- Finder?! What are you doing?!"

Seeker rushed in as he saw a cafeteria and began to eat the dishes and drinks like a pig.

Even the milk, the yogurt, and other variety of stock food were quickly devoured.

"A side-effect of my tech! It makes me exceedingly hungry! I took out a sniper before you arrived!" Seeker spoke in between bites.

"Here! I have a Nutri-Loaf! One small bite is enough to make you full!"

"You have Lembas bread?" Seeker was amazed.

"What? I don’t understand. Just take it!"

Seeker took the bread and bit down. But suddenly, he ate the entire thing! Surprisingly, the bread gave him nutrition.

Seeker became quiet. The food acted differently in this virtual reality. He wasn’t made of the code that defined this virtual reality but felt the energy empower his body with nutrients.

"It’s code, but it still empowers me and I feel the energy affect my real body! I feel that with this... I could actually exist as a being of code and real form!" Seeker was amazed.

"I was already on the path to becoming a cultivator and developing a body that can transcend dimensions! I see... so this is also what Marrho is trying to do!"

"I need two more to fight!" Seeker demanded.

The girl was amazed and handed Seeker five more as the bread somehow expanded from small pills.

"What’s your name?" Seeker asked.

"Melodain, third daughter of the Orchedan family!"

"Your food tech is strangely compatible with mine. We’ll have to work together. For now, we have to survive this! Let’s save the rest and get out of here!"

The group quickly rushed forward.

Seeker felt refreshed and knew that he could go all out.

His senses peaked as he used the power of Lioncort.

He saw the enemies close to breaching the walls that protected Umbeyown, Taliana Kulven, and Brenston.

"I hope that Marrho is busy with his battle outside..." Seeker decided. It was a gamble once more. The soldiers hadn’t breached the defenses yet and the odds of having a Lowengren and Harker thought process in the soldiers were low. But Seeker knew it could have been a prepared lie.

Seeker charged with incredible speed and surprised the girls.

"Just shoot whenever you see an enemy! I need to go there now!" Seeker shouted as he left the girls who also began to use boosters.

Seeker turned the corridor and saw several beams shooting at him.

Even before he made the turn, the enemy had already shot several rounds at him. And this time, all were aimed with frightening accuracy!

But this time, Seeker was prepared. Even if Harker and Lowengren belonged in this group, he had already seen their tricks and had already found ways to counter them.
