Chapter 656: Rider of the Dappled Horse
Over the region of One China, one of the Presiders dared to invade the place.
Their soldiers were coated in a strange shiny film, easily repelling the desolate chemicals used. They used an Enigmatic Magnetic Pulse that could alter the electromagnetic technology of One China.
The army also used long-range combat, which allowed it to fight accurately despite being more than a kilometer away from its target.
They used these techs to counter all that Renkerdis leaked about One China.
The powers of the Dragon and its Fangs were known to all Presiders.
His information allowed the Presiders to choose which country to invade. Archivus was a Mid-tier who had survived the harsh Presider War within the Orbital. And he believed that Earth was too weak for his powers. He aimed at one of Earth's most dangerous Anti-Presider, Greydon Meng.
The Presiders prepared against Desolation, werewolves, and electromagnetic techs were all easily countered.
The battle was going downhill.
Many of the Unlocked fortresses fell, and because of this, the destined traitors that would eventually betray the country rose up.
Despite showcasing great loyalty to China's glory, many secretly planned to betray the nation if the tides shifted.
As was planned all over the world, the Unlocked had intended to intentionally lose at first to reveal the true colors of the people, as what happened to Australia.
Despite the miraculous achievements of the Unlock and how they pulled off the massive Orbital that fell on Earth, many of the traitors in China who hated the regime and the return of the Meng family aimed to take on their heads. At the same time, they were focused on the battle with the Unlocked.
As the Chinese proverb reminds us, the traitors believed that this battle was the perfect chance for them.
The mantis, the Unlocked who stalked the cicada, was oblivious that a bird was swooping in for the kill.
In the arrogance of the traitors and led by the lies of several Unlocked individuals who urged many in the army to betray the leadership of Meng, many had agreed to this secret plan.
At the most desperate portion of the battle, the Chinese began to attack the Unlocked.
In the Command centers, the leaders suddenly took out a gun and shot the head of the Unlocked.
But all of the Unlocked was ready for it.
All the attempts to kill the great leaders failed as the Unlocked quickly brushed off the attempts.
Sting smiled as the Generals around him were disarmed from their weapons.
The assassination considered what they knew about Sting and the other members of the Dragon's Fang. But it all failed even with the techs they prepared, the secret assimilation of weapons, and the room itself being a trap for the Unlocked.
All the Unlock were instructed to expect that all who were not listed within the names that Seeker gave and among all that Arthur predicted to be their allies would eventually betray them.
Similar to Typical's power, the invisible needles stabbed around and paralyzed everyone.
Sting has regained his sight now. When he became a Ranked Hero, Meng allowed him to use his Unlocking to restore his sight, allowing him to grow in power.
He could even make the attacks of his young master Typical. He could use his abilities to strike the acupuncture points of a body accurately, rendering everyone paralyzed and unable to move anything from the neck down.
"Before we kill you, we wanted to let you know that we were waiting. We were waiting for you to betray us. We intentionally allowed these Presiders to devastate our forces so that you all would reveal your true color. Better now than later, right?" Sting laughed as he turned around to the generals.
"You're... insane! You allowed... the aliens to devastate our forces?! And you wonder why we... would betray you?! We pursue what is good for our-"
"You pursue your own interests. General. He Who Threads the Lion's Den has warned us that many will betray us. So your actions do not surprise us. But you see, we need as many trustworthy people in this battle. This war is a fight for the very survival of the human race. We don't have the resources, time, and luxury to protect the weak. Everyone has to be strong. The devastation you see is a means to form even more Unlocked. We gave this nation months. Months to assimilate and become part of our army. But many of you wanted to betray us. Now, see the true power of the Unlocked. Our Master... now threads the earth! The Rider and Horse has appeared. The Desolation and destruction will follow!"
Rising from the depths of the mountain, the dragon of Desolation appeared. His sizeable green Horse was his throne, but now, it was given sentience and form.
The hooves of the giant green Horse stomped from the land and marched up the skies.
The moment he appeared, the entire world began to change.
Since the last battle, Meng has continued cultivating his Desolation and increasing the strange power that is his being. His very presence was a constant hunger that sought to eat everything around him.
But soon, through the assistance of Charles, and since the one he loved was so strong in the frost that it could resist his powers, Meng pursued the peak of his Desolation. Assured of Rosa's power, which continued to rise and became an Overcomer of her own, Meng studied his poison, and it grew so strong that he had to be sealed away from the Earth.
But now, he made his march.
Meng had grown so powerful that his Desolation would change the very air of Earth.
Soil, rock, and air changed and rotted from the Horse's appearance.
Some stones were cut, and others crumbled into dust.
The ground where Meng appeared turned dark green and all life vanished.
All the Unlocked sensed the change in the air.
All the Fangs watched in awe at the power that appeared.
"Amazing... So this is our Master's power." One smiled.
"Impressive indeed. Your master's strong enough that even I would not charge straight at him despite my regenerative abilities." Amir smiled.
The werewolves based in India could all sense the strange power, and aside from the Alphas, most felt fear as if they were watching a stronger predator rising up to the skies.
Never before had Meng allowed his Desolation to go all out.
The soldiers that were set to betray them began to die as their wounds and cuts were so intense.
Those standing in the Horse's path appeared incinerated from the green Desolation.
Without stopping, the Horse rode on to face the Presiders army.
"So you have come!" The Presider Archivus saw the rising green dragon.
"We've come prepared, Black Dragon of China!" Archivus laughed as he drove his Throne to push onwards.
The power of a Mid-tier exploded as the Universe Energy altered the carbon energy around them.
Archivus pursued material hardening that invoked energy beyond the three dimensions to create steel and carbon to produce diamonds and unseen minerals of Earth. He chose China because he was confident that he could take on the Black Dragon's Desolation!
The Throne of Archivus grew dark and became a strange rainbow jewel as the Universe's Energy covered every inch of his Throne.
Like a meteor, he fell to challenge Meng.
"I'll show you a meteor that can ravage your continent!" Archivus laughed.
"Fool. I am the Abomination that Causes Desolation. Now that I have revealed my form to the air of this earth, the ground cannot produce its fruits. I am the Rider of the Dappled Horse!" Meng frowned as he saw Archivus's reckless confidence.
The desolate energy that spread recklessly over Earth gathered around the Throne of Meng. And it took the form of a giant dragon that rode the Horse.
"Maw... of the Dragon!"
The green energy shot toward the sky met the incoming meteor, and bit into it.
BOOOM!
CRUNCH!
The falling meteor stopped.
The devouring power of the dragon ate not only the metal but even the kinetic energy that the meteor had.
Force and energy were devoured!
Without force, the Throne was helpless and crunched by the dragon.
The confidence of Archivus turned into horrifying panic as he tried to get out of the mouth.
"No! How can this be! No!" Archivus began to release all the Universe Energy within him, but the dragon kept devouring it!
The Throne began to crack around it as the immense Desolation broke down all barriers.
BOOOM!
In desperation, Archivus allowed all his energy to explode and shot his Throne out of the mouth.
He retreated in full force.
"Attack him!" Archivus ordered and with their death in his hands, the Pioneer slaves all rushed to their deaths in a helpless attempt to delay the march of the Rider and Horse.
Sting watched as the army that raised havoc in China attacked Meng.
"What an idiot. He actually entered the mouth of the dragon willingly..." Sting chuckled.
