Countless trees collapsed, and a vast cloud of dust rapidly swept toward them. In the blink of an eye, the dust swallowed up Yu Xian and Little Nora. However, Yu Xian had created a bubble around himself and Little Nora, protecting them from the dust. As a result, not a single speck of dirt landed on them.

Little Nora swallowed the meat in his mouth and said, "Big Bro, someone's fighting!"

Yu Xian nodded. "I know."

He controlled the bubble and flew up. Once they reached a certain height, he and Little Nora saw a robot fighting an elderly man dressed like a wizard.

The robot transformed its arms into beam cannons and continuously fired enormous blasts of light. The wizard flew at low altitude, constantly weaving and dodging before raising his staff and unleashing a dense barrage of energy projectiles.

From Yu Xian's perspective, their battle looked like a bullet-hell game. Both sides were constantly moving to avoid the other's attacks while searching for an opportunity to counterattack.

Yu Xian muttered, "Could they have found the Forbidden Fruit?"

Forbidden Fruits held an irresistible attraction for ordinary beings. The moment they encountered one, they would be unable to stop themselves from eating it. However, once someone reached a certain rank, its allure weakened considerably, and brief contact with it posed no real problem. A Star-rank powerhouse could even hold one in their hand for days and nights without it affecting their mind.

Little Nora watched the two fighters with eager anticipation. "Big Bro, the rule of the Abyss is that treasures belong to the worthy! Let's fucking rob them!"

Yu Xian was taken aback. "Where did you learn to talk like that?"

Little Nora shook his head. "I don't know."

Yu Xian sighed and analyzed the situation. "We still don't know why they're fighting. What if it has nothing to do with the Forbidden Fruit and they simply have a grudge against each other?"

Little Nora excitedly replied, "Then let's just kill them both first. The law of the Abyss is survival of the fittest anyway!"

Yu Xian was irritated. "If everyone acted like that and killed everyone they encountered, wouldn't the whole world eventually be left with only the single strongest person?"

Little Nora immediately deflated and asked with a regretful expression, "All right, then what do you think we should do, Big Bro?"

Yu Xian smiled. "We'll watch for now and decide once we understand the situation. If the Forbidden Fruit really is in their possession, we'll do as you suggested. But if this is merely a private dispute, then we won't interfere."

Little Nora sighed. "All right."

As Little Nora obediently watched the fight, Yu Xian turned toward Eternal Purity. "Auntie, so much for being pure..."

He was mocking Eternal Purity for claiming that Little Nora was pure and naive. If not for having met him, Little Nora would undoubtedly have grown into one of the Abyss's most notorious bandits. However, Eternal Purity merely maintained her smile and gave no response to his remark.

In the distance, the battle between the robot and the wizard continued, and the abilities they unleashed grew increasingly chaotic. The robot fired all kinds of missiles from its chest and continuous beams of light from its eyes and hands.

The wizard was no less formidable, launching fireballs, ice arrows, and bolts of lightning in rapid succession. Neither combatant was struck more than a few times, but the surrounding trees and dragons suffered terribly.

The trees erupted into roaring flames, which spread to the fallen trunks and formed an ever-expanding sea of fire. Many dragons were caught in the crossfire and collapsed to the ground, crying out as the flames closed in before consuming them.

Yu Xian was finding it a bit hard to watch. He wasn't opposed to killing, but he was against senseless slaughter. Over the past few days, he had killed a great many dragons, and the dried corpses left behind after he drained their blood were practically everywhere. Even so, he could guarantee that he had never tortured a single one. He had basically killed them all instantly and made full use of their bodies, wasting nothing.

Yu Xian watched the dragons on the ground gradually burn to a crisp. "What a waste. Those were supposed to be our future food supplies."

Little Nora immediately grew excited. "Big Bro, now we have a perfectly good reason to attack them. Let's take them down!"

Before Yu Xian could respond, an arrow shot toward them from another direction. Yu Xian teleported to Little Nora's other side, caught the arrow with one hand, and looked toward where it had come from.

Interesting.

They had only been watching the show, yet someone had targeted them. Little Nora had not been wrong. The law of the Abyss was survival of the fittest. The one with the strongest fist was in the right.

Red light instantly erupted from Yu Xian's body. "Fusion!"

When this red light came into contact with the red light surrounding Little Nora, Little Nora fused into him. Yu Xian's appearance rapidly changed, and a pair of golden wings grew from his back.

Five kilometers away, a group that had been drawn over by the commotion was trying to determine whether their captain's arrow had struck its target. The moment they saw the target transform, they sensed that something was wrong.

The minotaur at the front, who held a bow and had the head of a bull, shouted, "Not good. He might be Heaven rank. Retreat!"

However, just as they turned around, Yu Xian appeared in front of them. The minotaur reacted extremely quickly and roared, "Fight! Vanguards, take the front row! Philier, fan out!"

Before the words had even fully left his mouth, eight Black blood threads shot from Yu Xian's fingers, piercing through the forehead of every single target. The threads instantly severed their cranial nerves. Yu Xian landed on the ground and slowly drained their blood through the threads while reading their memories.

They were a team of beastfolk. The minotaur was their leader, a man named Feilichi, and they came from a place called Crescent Bay. It was the largest settlement in Nail Zone Five of the Abyss. Most races whose worlds had been destroyed by the Abyss and who had nowhere else to go had taken refuge there.

Feilichi and his group were heavily in debt. When they heard that a Forbidden Fruit had flown in this direction, they formed a team, left Crescent Bay, and came here to search for it.

By now, however, Feilichi had almost run out of patience and begun entertaining darker thoughts. He decided to stop searching for the Forbidden Fruit altogether.

Instead, he planned to hunt down other teams searching for it, catch them off guard, kill them, and loot their possessions. Yu Xian and Little Nora were the first targets they encountered.

The reason he had attacked was that Yu Xian looked young, while Little Nora resembled nothing more than a harmless little yellow duck. Believing the duo posed no threat, Feilichi decided there was no harm in taking a shot. He had thought he could kill two birds with one stone, only to discover that he had picked the wrong target.

After learning the full story, Yu Xian slowly closed his eyes. The next instant, he completely drained Feilichi and his team. Since they had already attacked him, he naturally could not leave behind future trouble. However, their memories were extremely valuable. At long last, he had found an organized settlement within the Abyss.

Crescent Bay would be his next destination.
