Chapter 201: Yu Xian VS Edward

Yu Xian, Power 118.

Edward, Power 155.

Both Yu Xian and Edward had ways of gauging each other's strength. However, what they saw was entirely different. Yu Xian's Appraisal, modified by Eternal Purity, allowed him to see Power, a quantity used across the myriad worlds. Edward, on the other hand, saw something completely different.

Edward possessed an ability called Threat Radar. This ability marked every living being with a color. White indicated no threat, green indicated a minor threat, blue indicated a threat requiring caution, and red indicated extreme danger. At this moment, in Edward's eyes, Yu Xian radiated red light, which marked him as extremely dangerous.

Both of their fighting spirits rose nonstop, their eyes filled with the determination to kill the other. They unleashed their strongest power without holding anything back.

Yu Xian had enveloped himself in True Crimson Energy, blazing like raging flames. Edward was clad in the Devil Blood Armor, with dark red energy spilling from the armor like countless writhing tentacles.

The bacteria and viruses in the air died off. The area around them became a dead zone where no other life could survive.

They attacked simultaneously, their fists colliding in midair. It resulted in a terrifying energy shockwave that swept through everything around them. The ground collapsed instantly, and countless materials were reduced to atomic dust.

Edward gripped his sword with his other hand and launched a powerful diagonal slash at Yu Xian. But Yu Xian vanished into thin air. When he reappeared, he was already behind Edward, driving a spiraling spear into his back and sending them both plummeting toward the ground like a crimson meteor.

The earth was devastated once again. A seemingly bottomless crater was carved into it, while the surrounding land rolled outward like waves, layer upon layer stretching far into the distance.

At the bottom of the crater, Edward roared, "Great Blood Explosion Art!"

Energy rushed out from every pore of his body, triggering a tremendously powerful explosion that blasted Yu Xian off his back. Enveloped in energy, Edward then spun around and shot toward Yu Xian, thrusting his longsword straight at his chest. "Your end has come!"

Everything had happened incredibly fast; only three seconds had passed since the battle began. Just as the sword was about to strike him, Yu Xian teleported away once more. He reappeared higher in the sky, and countless eyeballs materialized around him, firing innumerable golden beams downward.

Edward could only raise his arms before himself and endure the dense barrage. The tremendous force behind those light beams blasted him underground once again.

Cracks spread through the ground behind Edward as he gritted his teeth and tried to swing his longsword against the barrage, but he could barely move it. The beams came from too many scattered directions. Different angles required different amounts and directions of force to counter them. Whenever Edward blocked one light beam, another interfered from a different direction, which made his situation even worse.

After several attempts, he decisively gave up. Instead, he held the longsword in front of himself and quietly gathered strength while searching for an opportunity to counterattack. He refused to believe Yu Xian could maintain this level of output indefinitely without any cost.

But he soon discovered that Yu Xian truly had no fear of a battle of attrition. Not only did the light beams from those eyeballs show no signs of stopping, but they were also becoming faster and faster. If this continued, Edward would only fall further behind.

Killing intent filled his eyes as he glared at Yu Xian. The next moment, he roared and hurled the longsword upward with all his strength. "Go!"

The longsword forced its way through light beam after light beam as it flew upward, only to narrowly miss Yu Xian. But that was exactly what Edward wanted. He swapped positions with the longsword, appearing above Yu Xian. The dark red energy he had secretly gathered in his hand blasted straight toward the opponent, but at the critical moment, Yu Xian teleported away once again.

A red gleam flashed through Edward's eyes, and he sneered. "Just what I've been waiting for!"

He immediately unleashed the energy he had been secretly accumulating behind his back, releasing an even more powerful attack. At this moment, Yu Xian had reappeared behind Edward, but was met with an explosion that engulfed the crater. This was Edward's true hidden move.

The entire crater erupted with crimson energy. Yu Xian took the full force of the blast. The eyeball bubbles around him burst apart one after another, while the True Crimson Energy protecting his body was instantly scattered. In the blink of an eye, his outer defenses failed, and his clothes were shredded. The tremendous impact force hurled him out of the crater and sent him soaring high into the sky before he fell again.

A dark crimson cross-shaped flash appeared deep underground. Edward shot out of the crater and raced toward the sky, his longsword aimed at Yu Xian. He became faster and faster as he resolved to finish Yu Xian off before he could recover.

Edward knew very well that his greatest advantage was experience. He had lived several centuries longer than Yu Xian and survived countless dangers in the Abyss, being far more seasoned in combat than Yu Xian was. That was precisely why he could not drag this out. He could not give Yu Xian the chance to grow during the battle.

Experience was something that could be accumulated quickly in actual combat. This was especially true when fighting someone highly experienced. Even a complete novice could improve at an astonishing rate with such an opponent.

In the air, Edward poured an enormous amount of energy into his longsword. The dark crimson blade radiated an intense yet restrained red glow. Its sheer energy was enough to ignite the energy inside Yu Xian and erase him from existence.

Edward stared at the falling Yu Xian and drove his longsword straight toward him. Blue Planet needs only one Star-rank powerhouse. Die!

At the critical moment, a mass of black shadow erupted from Yu Xian's body. It shoved Yu Xian aside at the last instant and took the sword strike in his place, dispersing like smoke the moment it was pierced.

Edward froze for a split second. What?

He abandoned any attempt to figure out what the black shadow was. Lowering his gaze toward Yu Xian, who was still falling, he dove after him and swung his longsword down.

However, Yu Xian had regained consciousness the moment that black shadow, the Dream Butterfly, pushed him away. He slowly opened his eyes and murmured to himself, "What is the hardest thing in the world? The answer is..."

Just now, Edward's full-powered attack had shattered the True Crimson Energy protecting him. At the last instant, although he didn't have the time to defend himself, his will had taken action. An invisible force had blocked the most lethal part of the explosion.

Yu Xian finally seemed to understand what the mysterious power born after refining the bloodlines of the Thunder God and Mother of Lightning actually was: True Will! When willpower and mental energy merged in perfect unity, the resulting force was True Will.

It was something similar to a Martial Will. Only when willpower and mental energy were truly and perfectly unified could it take effect. Moreover, any power combined with True Will would increase exponentially in strength.

Yu Xian looked as Edward dove toward him and instantly brought his thoughts into complete unity. I will defeat Edward!

His willpower and mental energy merged perfectly as one. Moreover, because he knew without a doubt that he could defeat Edward, the fury in his heart settled into a strange calm. His True Crimson Energy merged with his True Will and instantly seemed to come alive.

Descending like a falling meteor, Edward aimed his longsword straight at the center of Yu Xian's brow. "Die!"

But he saw Yu Xian reach out with his right hand and grab the blade. The extraordinarily sharp longsword did not even break the skin of Yu Xian's palm. Instead, he caught it firmly in his bare hand.

Edward's mind was filled with disbelief. How is that possible? A Star Divine Artifact is among the rarest things in the world in both hardness and sharpness. Even with a layer of energy protecting him, there is no way he can catch a sword filled with my energy using his bare hand.

By all logic, the moment Yu Xian grabbed the blade, the razor-sharp longsword should have severed his hand. It made no sense.

Yu Xian, however, clearly did not care whether it made sense or not. His eyes erupted with blazing red light. Gripping the sword, he yanked it downward and glared at the stunned Edward. "This punch is for every innocent person!"

Yu Xian drove his left fist into Edward's abdomen. With a thunderous boom, the shockwave split the sky apart.

Edward was sent flying straight out of the Blue Planet's atmosphere. He first smashed through a communications satellite, then tore through countless pieces of space debris before crashing through four or five asteroids in succession and coming to a stop.

Even with the Devil Blood Armor protecting him, the tremendous force of the blow still left him coughing up blood, while terror gripped his heart. He could not understand how Yu Xian had suddenly become so much stronger. Facing something he could not comprehend was terrifying.

Yu Xian gave him no time to think. After several flashes, he appeared in front of Edward once again and kicked him toward the distant Red Planet. "This kick is for the Dream Butterfly!"

Yu Xian knew that the Dream Butterfly had sacrificed itself to save him from Edward's sword. It was a life-saving trump card Cui Xianzhen had left him. Whenever Yu Xian encountered a life-or-death crisis, the Dream Butterfly would risk its life to protect him.

Despite that, Yu Xian had never intended to sacrifice the Dream Butterfly, and yet, Edward had destroyed it. That was an extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely important treasure to him!
