Never Judge

Chapter 760 - 760

Everyone was shocked with the sudden turn of events. No one had expected Cedric to suddenly stab Brian especially after he said that death would be going easy on him.

"Is he dead?" Ian asked as he walked over and checked on Brian.

"No, he is still alive." One of the men holding him up said.

"Should we get Miguel?" Ian asked Cedric who had his back turned on them and was not glaring at the members of the Baron Family.

Every single one of them was in shock, Cedric stabbed Brian right in front of their eyes, and Brian was someone they feared. Someone they would never mess with.

"No." Cedric said, shaking his head. "Take off all of his bandages and throw him back in his cage. Let him rot." Cedric ordered.

The men did as he asked and dragged a bloody Brian across the hall and pushed him into his cage.

The floor was not the cleanest, but it wasn't riddled with dirt either, despite that, Cedric was sure that Brian's wounds would get infected at some point. And if he didn't die from his wounds, he would at least die from blood loss.

"His family will come for you!" Rodrigo shouted. "You think you are so powerful because of your money and your connections, but there are those that are still beyond your reach!"

"Throw him and his father into the cage with Brian." Cedric ordered as he pointed at the father and son.

"What?!" Rodrigo shouted as he struggled against the guard's hold as he and Evan Baron were taken away from everyone else.

As they were brought in front of Cedric, Cedric raised his hand, telling the guard to stop.

Cedric glared at the father and son duo as he walked up to Evan and pulled the tape from his mouth.

Evan didn't waste any time as he spat at Cedric's face.

Cedric laughed at the man's feeble attempt to disrespect him as he wiped the spit off of his face.

"The law is on our side." Evan hissed as he glared at Cedric. "You can't just throw us into a cage, we deserve a trial."

Cedric laughed at how absurd Evan Baron was being.

"Mayor, no, former Mayor Baron, Haven't you figured out yet what happened?" Cedric asked the man with a malicious grin.

"What do you mean?" Evan Baron asked Cedric with a cautious tone. It seemed be wasn't as stupid as Cedric had initiall thought. At least this time he decided to be careful with his words

"Everything you did and said earlier was broadcasted live on social media, it was also recorded for evidence against you in court." Cedric said with a laugh.

"Dad, are you alright?" Rodrigo asked as he gave his father a worried look.

Cedric too had been confused by Evan's question, he had told everyone they were being taped, so what was going on with Evan?

He chose to ignore it and to simply continue on explaining what had happened.

"Add to that the fact that it was caught on tape that you were escorted out by both the police and the military, no one will think you were held captive by the mafia." Cedric said as he shook his head.

The shock on Evan Baron's face was clear, he had not realized it earlier. It seemed as if it was his first time hearing that information.

"Don't worry, you will still go to court, and the proper process will be followed. Let's just see how long you can last in that cage with Brian." Cedric said with a grin.

"Take them away." Cedric ordered, to which the guards that held them nodded and brought them over to the cage.

"You done?" Ray asked his brother-in-law as he placed a hand on Cedric's shoulder.

"With the Barons? Yes. They were easy enough to deal with." Cedric told Ray.

"What about these ones?" Alexi asked as he pointed at the still unconscious Jean, Evan's wife, and the two relatives they had brought along.

"I couldn't care less." Cedric said as he rolled his eyes. "But I think it's best if you sent them to the local police station, then a prison after."

"These pretty sheltered little things won't last a night at a public prison." Alexi said with a laugh as the Baron relatives' faces turned worried.

There had been many horror stories about prisons, and it was no secret that in certain places the criminals were allowed to rule inside.

It was in those places that things were worse and where they would definitely not survive.

"I will give you a chance to stay at a police station in the capital until your trial, but you have to give me what I want." Cedric told the Baron relatives.

The two men quickly nodded, agreeing to anything as long as it helped them avoid getting sent to a prison.

"Tell me, did the Barons work with anyone to organize an attack on my family?" Cedric asked in a threatening tone as he looked at the two men in the eyes.

They looked at each other as if trying to gauge if one knew more than the other. When both of them wouldn't speak, Cedric got annoyed.

"I do not have the time to wait for the two of you to decide." Cedric said as he rolled his eyes. "If it will take you this long then I will have you sent to the worst prison in the country while you await trial."

"No, please, anything but that." One man begged.

"We'll tell you everything we know, but we don't know much. We Barons are not that powerful or influential." The other explained.

"I'm waiting." Cedric said as he crossed his arms on his chest and frowned.

"There was talk." The first man said.

"About some old families plotting to jump back into power." The other man added, completing his relative's statement.

"They want to be in power again, but to do that they know they need to take you down." The first man told Cedric.

"This wasn't planned, but when it happened, they took advantage." The second man explained.

"Who are they?" Cedric asked as he watched both men hesitate to give him an answer.
