Never Judge

Chapter 739 - 739

Ayanna scrolled through the news reports on her phone as she waited at the underground entrance of Lau Co.'s office building.

Lau Co. was the umbrella company that owned and managed all of the companies that were under the Laurence family. They had even allowed Ray to house the head office of his personal companies in the same building as well.

As she read through the news that had broken out about her brother, she couldn't help but laugh. The very fact that people thought Cedric needed to bribe an official was amusing, and she wasn't the only one that thought so.

The internet was littered with people questioning the source, many saying that he was like a son to the president and a brother to congressman Sebastian. It was odd that he would go to another politician just to buy a parcel of land.

On top of that, everyone knew just how wealthy the Reyeses were. If they couldn't get this property, they would just move on to another one that was equally as attractive.

Entire debates had sparked in the comments section and various forums regarding the bribery issue, and no one could conclusively say it was true.

The whistle blower said they had evidence and yet nothing had been received by the media.

Ayanna took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She was enjoying the silence before the storm, she knew that the moment the employees of the Reyes Group got a hold of her she would be bombarded with questions.

She wanted to take advantage of this time. Cedric told her it was part of his plan and she trusted her brother.

Despite everything he had been though he still came out on top.

As she relaxed in the back seat of her car, she heard the door open, this only meant one thing. He was done with work.

True enough, two strong arms lifted her and pulled her close. She felt Ray's chin rest on her shoulder as he seemingly sought comfort from her presence.

"Tough day at work?" Ayanna asked with a slight laugh, she already knew what was stressing him out.

"It wasn't, till your brother decided to do something stupid." Ray said in a sour tone as he continued to hold her close.

"My brother always has his reasons." Ayanna told her husband as she turned to face him.

"I know, Cedric would never do something that stupid. Plus what use is it to him?" Ray asked with a grin.

"I'm glad that you know." Ayanna said with a smile as she leaned forward and kissed her husband on the lips.

What started out as a chaste kiss soon turned passionate as Ray's tongue begged to enter her mouth. Ayanna let him as she lightly tugged on his hair, deepening their kiss.

Ray's arms pulled her closer to him, desperate to feel every inch of her body against his.

They had been together that morning, but he had missed her the whole day.

After a steamy make out session at the back of their car, Ray finally released his wife and let her sit back down next to him.

"So my brother was the source of your stress today?" Ayanna asked with a giggle.

"Really, we talk about your brother right after that hot kiss?" Ray asked as he rolled his eyes. "Why is it that everyone thinks I know exactly what goes on in Cedric's mind."

"You're best friends and brother-in-laws, of course they will ask you." Ayanna told Ray as she took his hand and laced their fingers together. "It's only normal that they would assume that you are aware of everything my brother does."

Ray shook his head and sighed.

"Even before we got together they would always be like this, if the Reyes Group did anything they would look at me." Ray said with a frown. "I mean our dads are friends, why don't they ask the dads?"

"Cause they were scared of the dads." Ayanna said, laughing at her husband's question.

"Did you even know about your brother's plans?" Ray asked Ayanna.

"No, he forgot to tell me." Ayanna said, shaking her head. She was still annoyed at her brother that he had forgotten to give her a call last night or even this morning.

"When did Ced tell you?" Ray asked with a frown. He felt bad for his wife, having Cedric Reyes as an older brother was not the easiest thing in the world. Cedric was a complicated man, and being his sister meant living with those complexities.

"He told me as soon as the news broke out." Ayanna explained. "I don't think he expected it to reach the public so fast."

"Does he have a plan?" Ray asked his wife.

"It's Cedric, of course he has a plan." She said with a nod as she smiled at him. "And even when he is caught off guard, my brother always rises to the occasion." She added with a grin.

"Yeah, that's how Adrianna keeps getting pregnant." Ray teased, earning him a slap on the shoulder from his wife.

"On another note, I want to pass by mom's grave before heading home." Ayanna told him.

"Of course, anything you want." Ray said before telling the driver to head to the Reyes Family mausoleum in the outskirts of the city.

"So, did you call for a meeting to address this already?" Ray asked Ayanna as their car began to move.

"Yes, all the executives of the Reyes Group will be at our house later. I need to explain to them the situation." Ayanna said with a sigh. "I really wanted to rest, but this meeting can't wait."

"Why not ask your brother to call the meeting?" Ray asked, he knew that if Ayanna told Cedric she didn't want to do something he would do it himself.

Cedric spoiled his little sister just as much as Ray spoiled her. Anything and everything she wanted was either handed by her husband or her older brother.

"No, I'm sure he has enough on his plate." Ayanna said as she shook her head. "The fact that he forgot to tell me means he is busy as it is."

"Alright." Ray said with a nod as their car ascended to street level.

Once they exited the parking the couple was surprised to find reporters lining the streets, snapping photos of their car.

It seemed that Cedric's little scandal had major implications for everyone.
