Netori: Stealing The Hero's Party!

Chapter 999: Kevlon - The City Of Administration

  • Next Chapter

A week had gone by since Amedith and Liliyana infiltrated the city of paper. In the size of a grain of rice, they were hauled by disguised merchants and slipped past border security. Theirs was the fate, however, to end up in the bowels of the most vile gang of criminals amongst the city. The fraud merchant, his goods already sold outside the city, led them down a dark path. Eventually bringing them to his hideout, where slaves and kidnapped citizens were strung from tall hooks to either bleed to death or be barely kept alive.

The magus, however, decided differently. The slaves were freed, and so were the citizens; their memories of the place were also wiped to prevent their arrival ever becoming news or rumor. Taking the unfortunate’s place on the hooks were the depraved criminals. Kept alive with spells and magic until a week had gone by and both Amedith and Liliyana had completely forgotten about them.

Spending their time scouring the streets instead, the two had grown accustomed to the place. A city full of merchants and youngsters with gilded dreams was just the sort of place where gold could grease anything, even a grinchy lord’s tongue.

"Now, now, do not be so pressed about this. I will talk to the duke directly this time! He’ll be most amused by this alliance you’re proposing, young lady. Just ensure that you’ve filled enough buckets of milk to quench the greater lord’s thirst." Sitting across from the lesser lord, Amedith glanced at Liliyana.

The devil’s hooded eyes remained locked on the man in front of her, admiring the sheer perversion of his aura.

"How can you sleep at night, my lord?" She asked, smiling.

"What?" A bead of sweat trickled down the man’s forehead.

Tapping his finger on the desk between them, Amedith reeled in everyone’s attention to him once more. But this time, instead of an easy smile or indifference, he had a sultry touch to his gaze. Crossing his legs, the magus let the shorts ride up his thighs. Drawing the lord’s attention as well as his bodyguard’s, who was standing right at his neck.

Leaning forward, his chin rested on the back of his hands while he removed the hood covering his face. A lady with silver pixie hair was finally revealed, the sight of whom made both of their throats bob.

"Easier for you to say, my lord; I’ve been duped before, haven’t I?" Reaching across the table, he grabbed the lord’s hand. Squeezing it between his fingers, Amedith leaned across the glass table, his disguised silver gaze looking right into the man’s very soul. "Another lord took what I had left, then you took all the jewelry I owned! Please, just promise me that you’ll find a way to stop the reinforcements! My family in Charammer will forever be in your debt!"

Amedith’s eyes were numb with tears, pooling at the edge of his eyelids. Even the stone-hearted lord couldn’t help but feel himself crack from within. The solemn look of pleading by a woman so radiant melted his heart but also played to help him with his motives. Masking the look of longing, the lord cupped Amedith’s hands within his and spoke in a rather intimate voice.

"The jewelry was a gift for the duke; I do not have it anymore. As for your alliance prospect, I can talk all I want to the duke, but he, in the middle of war, will never listen to anyone. Unfortunately, you can’t go back to your family and whatever alliance offers from a house of Charammer–a city suspected of defecting to the enemy or having been razed by them will do no good."

"T-then?!" Amedith leaned further into the reach of the duke, blowing his breath away.

The man almost gasped at the sudden pace of his shift, but holding it in, he glanced up and down Amedith’s body–a woman in disguise with non-existent tits and, surprisingly, the one rumor that made the lovers approach him in the first place. A man in love with a woman of near no bloom, his mouth salivating at the thought of claiming another flower, and to that end he spoke what little he could actually do.

"I-if your family can produce and deliver some evidence that Charammer is fine and well, then the duke will stop all reinforcement and open the roads to the other cities as well as the capital." Swallowing the flavor of his lust, he glanced up and smiled at the young woman inches from him. "You can then travel back to Charammer or wherever. But first you’ll have to talk to him yourself and convince him to listen. I can arrange that meeting, however..."

Wiping the edge of his drooling lips, the lord reached towards Amedith’s chest. Moving back before he could touch him, the magus feigned a smile and hooded his head. The gleam of his teeth was still visible. Whispering something to Liliyana, he got up and gestured for the duke to guide him.

"I will be back in a jiffy, Jeanne," he said.

"Then I shall await your return here, Olivia," Lily replied, smiling with her eyes locked with the bodyguard.

Taking one man each, the lovers separated the two for the time being. Amedith was guided by the noble lord to his bedroom, while Liliyana used her devilish charm to disarm the mind of the armored man. Making him do his bidding, she had him lock the door before returning to the table. There, once he’d sat down, she grabbed him by his face and peered into his memory to stitch up a lie of compliance and service.

’Do not stand out or cause a scene, Liliyana. Even if you have to weave a lie that makes you wanna vomit.’ For now spun her web, entrapping the man in a memory that never occurred. Amedith’s side was no different, albeit he couldn’t help but feel as if he was being tortured by merely being the lord’s memory.

’Ughhh...Why do I always get these creeps?!’ He cringed, having found that the old man loved being degraded and smacked around by flat-chested women. Forced to weave a lie of deceit and heavy degradation, the magus did what he thought was best for the moment.

By the time the two were done, neither man had much left to say or do. And with a meeting with the duke yet to be arranged, all they could do was wait and try to scrub their own minds of what lies they’d fed the two depraved idiots.
