Chapter 2070 – Borrowing Force to Deploy Force
Chapter 2070 – Borrowing Force to Deploy Force
Hundreds of thousands out of his group of precious babies from the World of Immortals had died! This irked Lu Yun. It irked him greatly.
That called for revenge.
Since the demon gods cared so much about their bloodlines, he’d happily exterminate them. He’d come to understand the purpose of the bloodlines through the calculations of formula dao. Once a demon god died, they could distill their bloodline from their descendants and coalesce a new body, thereby rising from the dead.
Given how they treated him, it would be impolite not to reciprocate, wouldn’t it?
Lu Yun wasn’t the type to turn the other cheek when slapped, but he didn’t plan on using the Three Thousand’s strength against the vicious beasts. Legends of their ferocious might constantly circulated through sanctuary. The local inhabitants of the realm lacked courage on a fundamental basis when it came to facing the vicious beasts.
Even the five sacred palaces would encounter the same mental block if they were told to march against the beasts.
Immortals from the World of Immortals had suffered such heavy casualties primarily because denizens of the There Thousand shrank back at the sight of the vicious beasts. They didn’t dare engage the enemy in battle.
As advanced as the immortals’ dao methods were and as sophisticated their techniques compared to the Three Thousand, they still came off worse for the wear against an overwhelming horde of enemies.
Thus, Lu Yun couldn’t be bothered to notify the sacred palaces this time. To him, cultivators of the sacred palaces were flowers raised in a greenhouse. In fact, they were malnourished flowers that hadn’t fully developed. They weren’t good enough to accomplish anything, but more than enough to spoil things.
It was one thing if their dao methods and combat arts lagging behind the times was the only problem. Given the clear progression of the modern era, they could easily supplement their shortcomings if they cultivated alongside those from the World of Immortals.
But these people rejected immortals from the very core of their being, regarding the latter as heretics and their cultivation as blasphemous doctrine. It was a prejudice that didn’t change even when their greatest sacred supremes gave orders otherwise.
Therefore, Lu Yun ignored them this time. Whether it was handling the mortals under demon god control or counter attacking the vicious beasts, he used only his own strength.
The human tribes of the Three Thousand required attention from the immortals of the Sacred Radiance Dynasty. Permitting the tribes to remain in sanctuary was just allowing latent danger to flourish. They had to be eliminated.
Of course, Lu Yun tried to capture the altar-controlled humans the best he could. It was only when it proved impossible that he killed them.
As for counter attacking vicious beasts… Infernum poured out en masse from the kingdom of hell. They were consumables to Lu Yun now. Their talents and intelligence were poor—they’d all been enemies disposed of by Lu Yun and the ten Yama Kings.

It wouldn’t be any sort of loss if they were fully wiped out, and any vicious beasts they managed to take along the way would also become Infernum. Now that the Tome of Life and Death was a sheet of golden paper and had assimilated strength from the Three Brushes of Reincarnation, it brimmed with reincarnation. Anything that the Infernum killed also became Infernum!
This was a positive feedback cycle that would easily snowball to great effect. It made Lu Yun completely unafraid of war!
He’d gained quite a few beast Infernum with the previous invasion; they charged out of sanctuary with the ten Yama Kings in the lead. There was no setup or strategy to their deployment, just flat-out careening around.
There needed to be a culling of Infernum in the kingdom of hell since it was only so big. A few more ghostly soldiers would fill it beyond capacity. Quite a few of the vicious beasts ran into a gathering of their own kind and self detonated, trading their lives for ten times or even one hundred times new Infernum.
This put Lu Yun in a slightly morose mood.
“I’ll… send a few Infernum to the Disordered Sacred Supreme when she finishes crafting her nine hells.” He relaxed after finding a solution to the problem.
The ten Yama Kings assembled into formation and sealed off a radius of five billion kilometers around them. This range spanned the gathering point of a demon god’s bloodline—not Feilu, but another one called Duosheng.
This demon god took the form of a bird, so most of the vicious beasts in this area could fly. They were inordinately ferocious, but couldn’t withstand the increasing amount of Infernum that blotted out the earth and sky.
Three tremendous nihil level beasts vaporized when ambushed by Lu Yun, Ox-Head, and Horse-Face. They swiftly became the latest ghostly soldiers.
However, Infernum were different from Ox-Head and Horse-Face. The latter two had their names written in the Tome of Life and Death and possessed freedom and independent personalities. If one became Infernum upon death, that made one the lowliest cannon fodder.
However, Lu Yun killed vicious beasts simply to take revenge on the demon gods. Gaining a few nihil level Infernum was a happy bonus. He didn’t hope to capture more yin soldiers on the same level as Ox-Head and Horse-Face.
Indeed, yin soldiers.
Lu Yun had sorted his subordinates into three different categories under the reincarnation system. The Yama Kings were the highest, followed by yin soldiers who enforced the laws of yin and yang. They walked the mortal realms and guided souls to the afterlife. Yin soldiers such as Ox-Head, Horse-Face, the to-be-determined Black and White Impermanence, judges, and Meng Po would be written into the Tome of Life and Death or captured via the power of reincarnation.
If these soldiers died, they would be reborn from the cycle of reincarnation and regain what they possessed in life.
The lowest of his subordinates were the ghostly soldiers known as Infernum. They fell at Lu Yun’s hand or someone who wielded the power of reincarnation. Recreated from the crudest of reincarnation energy, their potential and cultivation were fixed at their moment of death. Dying meant an eternal death, they would not come back to life.
The Infernum could only remain in the kingdom of hell or at most walk the mortal world with the yin soldiers. If they strayed too far from Lu Yun, the Yama Kings, or yin soldiers, they would fly apart upon the wind.
That was the limitation that reincarnation levied on them. It was one that’d gradually faded away as the Tome of Life and Death evolved, but now that it was a sheet of golden paper, it reappeared with greater force than before.
Lu Yun didn’t dare let Daoist Yuyu join him on this campaign outside sanctuary. Invading the territory of the vicious beasts was an act of borrowing force to deploy force. If the daoist came and laid about with his swords and formation, there would be nothing left for Lu Yun to collect.
……
A radius of five billion kilometers was nothing to the unbounded Three Thousand—a grain of corn in the vast sea. However, this area happened to be where the bloodline of Duosheng gathered.
Other vicious beast bloodlines received word when battle broke out and sent masses of reinforcements. However, the Formation of the Ten Yama Kings had reached unfathomable levels—heights that withstood even nihil powerhouses.
The ten Yama Kings were just sacred supremes, but they could slay nihil powerhouses when they joined hands!
……
“Raugh rah roar!” A nihil level beast with the head of a lion rushed out of the formation and frantically called out to its own kind.
A dozen vicious beasts quickly stepped forward to help, closing around the lion. And then…
Kaboom.
A mushroom cloud rose from the ground as the dozen beasts were blown to pieces before they could approach the formation.
