Chapter 1391: Black Stone (Part 4)
’Powers… but also a curse.’
Evan frowned when he heard Azroth’s words, wondering if he was referring to the Cursed One Title.
Although he truly wanted to know more about it because the Cursed One Title was one of his greatest concerns, he forced himself to put those thoughts aside as right now, he was going through these memories to find a solution for Elora’s current state.
’The memories inside this soul seal are very different from the previous ones. Those memories directly entered my mind and became a part of me. But this one… it’s as if I am watching a video clip without any control over it.’
Evan grew anxious because he did not have much time.
The destruction caused by Elora would undoubtedly attract the other powerhouses of Utopia, and he needed to return her to normal before they arrived.
As his anxiety continued to rise, the scene before him suddenly plunged into darkness.
The colossal Universal Tree, the twinkling stars, everything disappeared completely.
However, the darkness did not last long before it was replaced by an endless crimson hue.
’That’s… Elora.’
Evan was stunned when he saw a crimson-colored beast that closely resembled the current rampaging Elora.
However, compared to the current Elora, this beast was far larger. It flew amidst the starry sky, swallowing or destroying everything that came into its path.
A crimson aura emanated from the beast, spreading across a vast area that stretched endlessly toward the horizon.
Everywhere that crimson aura reached was destroyed without exception, leaving behind absolutely nothing, not even dust.
As the beast flew through space, Evan suddenly saw Azroth appear before it out of nowhere.
This time, Azroth was holding a pitch-black halberd forged using the Shadow Forge skill.
’Is this the memory where he fought Elora and turned her into his soul weapon?’
As this thought crossed his mind, Evan’s eyes narrowed slightly.
He remembered that inside the Tomb of the Ancient, Azroth had told him that he kidnapped Elora and transformed her into his soul weapon.
But now that he looked at the gigantic crimson beast, he felt Azroth might have been joking with him. After all, he could not imagine how someone would “kidnap” a creature like this.
However, the next thing that happened completely shattered Evan’s worldview.
ROAR!
The crimson beast, the Incarnation of the END released a roar filled with tyranny as it stared at Azroth with hunger-filled eyes.
“Our Ruler’s Authority, Soul Keeper grants us absolute control over Life and Death.”
Azroth suddenly spoke in a cold voice.
Evan, who was watching everything as though he were viewing a movie, trembled, and his eyes widened in shock.
’This… Is he talking to me?’
The moment this thought arose in his mind, he saw Azroth glance at him expressionlessly.
“Weak.”
Azroth spoke as though he could see Evan’s current self through the river of time itself.
The fact that he was merely a figure inside a memory and that the two of them belonged to completely different eras seemed utterly irrelevant.
“When I was at your level, I could already kill newly ascended rank-six core evolvers without using our authorities.”
As he spoke, a storm of shadow energy erupted from his body.
“Our current potential is even higher than that of my past self. But if you truly want to bring out that potential, then instead of merely relying on raw power, you must understand the true essence of our abilities.”
Azroth’s cold eyes glowed faintly as the surrounding space trembled violently.
“A power so terrifying that we were born as cursed existences so that we would not disturb the balance of this world.”
Suddenly, the storm of shadow energy emanating from Azroth came to a halt, and a pitch-black vortex opened behind him.
“Try to understand the true essence of our power. Because the moment you grasp it…”
ROAR!
A terrifying roar suddenly echoed from the black vortex behind Azroth, a roar no less terrifying than Elora’s own.
“…you will finally be able to control our Ruler’s Authority and call forth the power that resides in the deepest and most forgotten part of the Void.”
A being both familiar and unfamiliar slowly walked out of the rift behind Azroth.
The creature possessed a colossal body similar in size to Elora’s, but unlike her dragon-like form, this beast had the body structure of an enormous ape, with bone spurs protruding from every part of its body.
Its deep yellow eyes glowed with the same hunger as Elora’s, while the power of Nothingness swirled around it endlessly.
The creature’s face resembled that of a human attached upside down, with its mouth positioned above and its eyes below.
Long white hair flowed down from the top of its head, covering the right side of its face.
’This monster… It’s very similar to the one I summoned when I used Voidborn Invocation in the Maldrith Kingdom.’
The only difference was that compared to the monster Evan had summoned, this one existed on a completely different level, appearing powerful enough to fight against the crimson beast without falling behind in the slightest.
The moment the beast emerged from the vortex, it ignored everything else and immediately lunged toward Elora.
A doomsday-like battle erupted instantly, and everything around them shattered into nothingness.
Evan’s vision was once again swallowed by endless darkness, but he paid no attention to it because his mind was completely occupied by Azroth’s words.
’Understand the true essence of our power…’
Evan pondered those words deeply while simultaneously thinking about the beast Azroth had summoned.
’The deepest and most forgotten part of the Void…’

—) Voidborn Invocation: Upon activation, summons an entity from the deepest and most forgotten part of the Void—a being of nothingness that devours all life and energy around it. The creature is unstable and exists only temporarily, feeding on everything in its path. It obeys the caster, but its very presence harms reality itself. The level of the summoned creature depends on the caster’s level. This skill can be used once every month.

’Soul Keeper… This thing is definitely related to my Ruler’s Authority.’
Just as Evan was lost in thought, the darkness before him brightened once again, and he found himself standing before the Universal Tree.
Azroth was once again standing in front of it, but this time, instead of an axe, he held a halberd in his hand that released terrifying waves of the power of destruction.
