Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!
Chapter 325 | 325 | The Great War Part 13: Enigma Veil Ceremony
In the uppermost level of the Citadel Tower, Charlotte's gaze swept through various reports before sighing to herself and looking at the window. "It has been a while since they left. I should have asked to come along instead of being holed up by work."
Beyond the clear windows was the capital city of the United World Government, shaped by steel and arcane technology. Sharp towers pierced through the heavens as the flickering lights of civilization shone with unrivalled radiance.
Beneath the cascading spires, humans and beastfolk lived alongside each other, shaping another subspecies as the conclusion of their unity. The beastmen.
As Charlotte observed the glazing cityscape, the metallic doors to her office slid open. A beautiful wolf lady entered with aloof brilliance, her boots echoed against the smooth floor as she sat on the opulent sofa near the windows.
"Charlotte, the Enigma Veil Ceremony is about to begin." Mercedes reported, staring at the capital below them. "Your presence is needed as the Prime Minister of the United World Government. After all, the Enigma Veil will change the world."
"For the better, or for the worst."
"I know... I'm just checking the last reports from the borderlands. Europa is stirring with this ceremony of ours." Charlotte nodded and smiled at the wolf lady, whose aloofness seemed to be etched onto their furry face.
"That is to be expected... Especially after you ordered the cleanup process to begin." Mercedes shook her head, tightening the tie of her suit. "Recovering all of our technology from Europa is bound to attract attention."
"I hope that it wouldn't escalate... this wasn't my intention." Charlotte sighed to herself, taking a deep and cold breath. "So any news about those two? Tiamat has been bugging me about their current location."
"That kid knows how to annoy people. I can't believe I'm babysitting their daughter." Charlotte clicked her tongue, crossing her pale and supple legs. The edges of her lips subtly rose as she remarked. "I can't wait to punch that guy in the face."
Mercedes chuckled at her words and replied. "They have been gone for quite a while. I recalled that it was a quite conclusion made by the strongest beings in the primordial world. You can consider it gods returning to where they came from in order to avoid breaking the world apart."
"Huh? I doubt a single one of them even truly left to begin with." Charlotte raised her eyebrows and continued. "The League of Humanity has been making movements these past few years, especially the Magus Tower."
"Ever since they lost contact with their Sovereigns, they have been fractured yet unnaturally cohesive. Their technology has also grown enough to be a threat to the United World Government."
"Who knows what puppeteer of humanity is... I hope that they won't set their eyes upon us. Or perhaps, they already are gazing at the World Government." Charlotte frowned, tapping the wooden mahogany table with her fingers.
"Regardless, the completion of the Enigma Veil Ceremony begins the first step of the plan." Mercedes uttered, attracting the attention of the tired Prime Minister. Charlotte nodded and stood up. "I understand... I'll head there immediately."
Beneath the Citadel Tower, a crowd of thousands stood together as the head of arcane and scientific technology finished his speech about the revolutionary miracle that their department had created under the command of the Authority.
Although details about the technology was primarily withheld, it was amongst the most important projects of the United World Government. A few minutes had passed since the meeting of Mercedes and Charlotte in the uppermost floor of the tower.
The head of arcane and scientific technology smiled at the crowd and announced with care. "The Prime Minister has come to present her speech. We shall hear her, and know where our nation will be in the farther future. Beyond war, beyond adversaries."
The crowd cheered, their claps resounding throughout the ceremony venue. Charlotte entered the stage with a gentle smile, her soldier habits long eroded after being in the political sphere for so many years.
"Thank you, everyone..." Charlotte uttered, her tone soft. "I am here to announce the beginning of a new era. An age where we don't have to feel fear from our adversaries and their rulers. It is time for a greater change."
"A change bestowed upon us by the Authority and the Dragon of Liberation."
Hearing her words, the crowd erupted in murmurs. Most of them were curious about what the technology truly was. Could it be a weapon that could turn the tide in this cold war? Speculations flew in the air.
"We, mortals, have long been in the mercy of those who stand at the apex of the primordial world. Specifically, the Sovereigns of Humanity. The ones who stopped them from taking a single step was our great guardians, protecting us from the bloodied hands of those conquerors."
"I declare that era has become our past. The Enigma Veil will be our hope, ensuring that our guardians can act without worrying about our safeties. We shall disappear from this world, and the League of Humanity shall feel our wrath."
In an instant, a beam of light from the Citadel Tower pierced through the blue skies. A bubble of energy began to form, steadily encapsulating the entirety of the capital. Alongside the capital city of the United World Government, several cities also became shrouded by energy.
It was the newest shield of the World Government while also being its concealment. Such was the Enigma Veil, capable of even obscuring oneself from the strongest beings of the primordial world. The technological trump card developed by the nation.
From this moment on, the United World Government disappeared from the map. The Enigma Veil didn't mere conceal cities, they were also transferred all throughout the primordial world, forever hidden from the outside world besides themselves.
Somewhere in an unknown land, Abraham opened his eyelids and looked at the blazing sun. He turned his head towards the distant horizon and muttered. "So the Enigma Veil was completed, huh? Perhaps, its time to settle some problems."
