Naruto World: Tenseigan
Chapter 67: The Valley Vanished
Chapter 67: Chapter 67: The Valley Vanished
RUMBLE...
The colossal storm unleashed through the Truth-Seeking Balls swept across the entire valley in an instant!
Caught within such a ferocious storm, whether it was an elite Kumogakure jonin as powerful as Fukado or the ordinary Kumogakure genin, they were all like rootless duckweed tossed about by the raging winds.
Tiny and insignificant—
Like ants before a natural disaster.
And it wasn’t just the Kumogakure shinobi.
Countless towering trees throughout the valley were ripped out by the roots. Massive boulders were torn from the earth and hurled through the air. Houses and sentry posts disintegrated into countless fragments the instant the storm touched them.
CRACK! CRASH! RATTLE!
Everything was pulverized into debris within the storm, colliding violently with everything else and producing a chaotic cacophony of sounds.
It was as though the entire valley had been nothing more than a drawing on a sheet of paper.
And the technique known as Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion was an eraser that swept across that drawing in a single stroke—
Leaving behind nothing but a desolate blank.
"Not enough! This still isn’t enough!"
Even after going this far, Hyuga Kagami had absolutely no intention of stopping.
Even though he had practically flattened the entire valley, within the vision of his Tenseigan, there were still numerous chakra signatures scattered throughout the area.
That meant quite a few Kumogakure shinobi had survived.
None of those survivors could be allowed to live. If even one of them escaped, Kumogakure would catch a glimpse of the Tenseigan’s secrets.
Kumogakure had more than its fair share of dark history. They had attempted to kidnap both Kushina and Hinata in the past. When it came to obtaining the secrets of other villages, there was practically nothing they wouldn’t do.
Shisui, suspended in midair by the attractive force, was utterly dumbfounded.
Several minutes had already passed, yet the expression on his face hadn’t changed in the slightest.
"Could this be... Senpai’s true strength!?"
Shisui had always kept his pride buried deep within his heart, but for the first time, he was witnessing a power so overwhelming that even the Mangekyo Sharingan could not hope to contend with it.
Amid his shock, countless emotions churned within him.
This time, his pride had truly been shattered!
Hyuga Kagami didn’t notice the change in Shisui’s state of mind. At that moment, he was pouring everything into maintaining the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, exterminating every Kumogakure shinobi within the reach of his vision.
Suddenly, the seemingly inexhaustible source of chakra was cut off.
It was as though Hyuga Kagami’s entire body had been hollowed out in an instant. The change was so abrupt that he hadn’t been prepared for it in the slightest.
In truth, he had long since guessed that this chakra was coming from the enormous Tenseigan on the moon.
Only chakra originating from another Tenseigan could have felt so intimately familiar to him.
And it was precisely because he had guessed that the source of the chakra was on the moon that Hyuga Kagami had been unleashing the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion with everything he had.
He knew that the descendants of Otsutsuki Hamura living on the moon would never allow him to draw upon the power of the enormous Tenseigan without restraint.
This opportunity might only come once.
If he missed it, all he could do afterward was gaze up at the moon and sigh in regret.
Even so, the speed at which Hamura’s descendants on the moon reacted had greatly exceeded his expectations.
From the moment his Tenseigan resonated with the enormous Tenseigan on the moon to the moment that resonance was severed, only a few short minutes had passed!
"I can’t stop now!"
Faced with the situation before him, Hyuga Kagami quickly made up his mind.
Until every last Kumogakure shinobi had been eliminated, he could not deactivate Tenseigan Chakra Mode.
Even if it meant overdrawing some of his life force, he would grit his teeth and endure.
According to his estimate, he only needed a few dozen more seconds. By then, the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion wouldn’t merely flatten the entire valley—it would churn the ground several feet deep!
When that happened, forget humans.
Even rats and insects hiding underground wouldn’t escape death!
But without the support of the enormous Tenseigan on the moon, Hyuga Kagami—whose own chakra reserves had already been completely exhausted—was immediately overwhelmed by a crushing wave of fatigue.
It felt as though the entire world were swaying around him.
"Seven... six... five... four..."
His eyelids had grown so heavy that he could barely keep them open, yet he desperately continued sensing the remaining chakra signatures within the valley.
"Three..."
"Two..."
"The last one!"
As the final chakra signature disappeared, Hyuga Kagami confirmed that there was no one left alive anywhere in the valley.
He could no longer hold on.
Coughing up blood, he descended to the ground with Shisui.
Before he could even deactivate Tenseigan Chakra Mode himself, the transformation vanished on its own.
At the same time, the Tenseigan in his eye sockets regressed back into the Byakugan, just as Otsutsuki Toneri’s Tenseigan had after exhausting all of his chakra in his battle against Naruto.
Noticing that something was wrong with Hyuga Kagami, Shisui hurried over and supported him.
"Senpai, how are you?"
"Go... We need to go, now!"
Shisui nodded, hoisted Hyuga Kagami onto his back, and fled toward the Land of the Moon.
Not long after the two of them escaped, squad after squad of Kumogakure shinobi arrived from every direction.
Of course, calling this place a "valley" was no longer particularly appropriate.
As far as the eye could see, the terrain was completely flat, as though some colossal giant had taken an enormous iron shovel and brutally plowed across the entire landscape!
"Are we sure we came to the right place? Wasn’t there supposed to be a valley here?"
"Where is everyone? Where’s the secret warehouse?!"
"What in the world happened here...?"
One Kumogakure shinobi after another stood frozen in place, completely at a loss.
At that moment, a Kumogakure jonin stepped forward and roared,
"Damn it! What are you all standing around for?! Hurry up and search for survivors! I want to know exactly what happened here!"
The Kumogakure shinobi snapped out of their daze and immediately scattered, searching through the devastated, churned-up earth for survivors.
But no matter how much they searched, all they found were mangled and incomplete corpses.
And without exception, every single corpse they found was wearing Kumogakure attire.
"What?! You didn’t find a single enemy corpse?!"
After receiving the report, even the Kumogakure jonin began to panic.
He pointed toward the rows upon rows of mutilated bodies that had been gathered and laid out before him, his voice trembling as he said,
"D-Don’t tell me... all these bodies belong to our own people?"
On the moon.
After severing the enormous Tenseigan’s external supply of chakra, the three remaining Otsutsuki elders were filled with suspicion.
The eldest among them, the Great Elder, spoke in a hoarse and feeble voice.
"This disturbance with the Tenseigan is far too strange. I suspect it has something to do with the person who previously stole the Gedo Statue!"
The equally aged and frail Second Elder was both shocked and furious.
"He dares to seize the Tenseigan, a treasure of our Otsutsuki clan?!"
The Third Elder remained relatively calm and said indifferently,
"Why don’t we use the Tenseigan to sense the situation? That disturbance just now was far too unusual. Perhaps something has happened on Earth."
The Great Elder nodded, then formed a hand seal and shouted,
"Activate!"
The dim enormous Tenseigan once again erupted with dazzling light.
The radiance spread out like a curtain of light, projecting across the vast distance toward Earth.
On Earth.
As Shisui carried him toward the Land of the Moon, Hyuga Kagami suddenly felt that familiar chakra from earlier sweep across his body.
However, because his Tenseigan had exhausted its chakra and regressed into the Byakugan, that familiar chakra did not linger on him.
It merely swept past—
Then continued scanning into the distance...
