Chapter 469: Chapter 469: Threat Level Raised
Upon hearing the word ’son,’ Mui finally regained some of his senses and looked toward Kagami.
Kagami pointed at Satori, who was soaring through the air, and remarked, "I’m guessing you don’t want your son to stay looking like that forever, either. Just looking at him is disgusting."
Mui vehemently denied it. "No! That thing isn’t Muku!"
While controlling the Iron Sand to block the feathers Satori was firing at them in a frenzy, Kagami said calmly, "Why lie to yourself? You know perfectly well that he’s your son."
Kagami’s calm tone left Mui with no strength to argue.
At last, he lowered his head dejectedly. "Yes... His hatred for me is so clear..."
Kagami continued, "The world inside the Box of Ultimate Bliss is no different from hell. Your son suffered endless torment and corruption inside it. He may have changed, but he’s still your son. And you’re the only one who can set him free—who can allow him to escape the Box of Ultimate Bliss’s control forever! This is your final chance to make it up to him!"
Kagami calmly told him a lie.
Once someone entered the Box of Ultimate Bliss, no one could escape its control. If Kagami remembered correctly, even after Satori was defeated, Muku, who served as Satori’s host, had merely returned to the Box of Ultimate Bliss.
But Kagami had no choice but to deceive Mui.
He needed to reignite Mui’s will to fight.
Just as Kagami expected, after staring at the hideous monster flying through the sky, Mui quickly made up his mind and forced himself back onto his feet.
Mui’s injuries at the moment were considerably lighter than they had been in the original timeline.
For one thing, Tsunade had treated him. For another, Muku was only eight or nine years old right now, making him considerably shorter than the Muku from ten years later in the original timeline.
Because of the difference in height, the blow that had pierced through Mui’s chest had landed slightly lower than it had in the original timeline and had not completely pierced his heart.
Seeing Mui rise to his feet, Satori, still soaring through the air, roared furiously,
"Why?! Why aren’t you dead yet?!"
Hearing Satori’s furious roar from above, Jiraiya and Tsunade exchanged a glance.
"That monster can’t sense this injured man!"
The realization flashed through both of their minds at the same time.
Satori’s anger and shock were precisely what proved that it was unable to sense Mui. If it couldn’t even determine whether Mui was alive or dead, then there was no way it could predict Mui’s actions either.
Although they still didn’t understand the reason behind it, both Jiraiya and Tsunade realized that the injured man before them was probably the only person capable of landing a hit on Satori.
Upon realizing this, they both turned toward Kagami, the one who had rescued Mui, and found Kamigami increasingly mysterious and unfathomable.
Beneath the mask patterned with raging winds, the corner of Kagami’s mouth curled upward.
As Muku’s father, Mui felt neither the slightest fear toward his son who had transformed into a monster, nor did he harbor any malice toward him.
Because of this, Mui was currently the only person capable of bypassing Satori’s special ability.
More importantly, he was also an elite jonin who specialized in binding techniques. As long as he was given an opportunity, he could take Satori down in a single strike!
At that moment, Mui asked Kagami, "What should I do?"
There was no longer the slightest trace of hesitation or regret on Mui’s face. His gaze was filled with determination, and he had regained the composure befitting an elite jonin.
"Use what you’re best at, of course!"
After a brief pause, Kagami continued, "I’ll create an opening for you!"
With that, the twin wings on Kagami’s back spread wide, and he soared into the sky once more.
Previously, because he knew there was no way for him to land a hit on Satori, Kagami had fought very conservatively while keeping the monster occupied. His primary objective had been to stall for time while conserving as much of his chakra as possible.
But the situation was different now.
To create an opportunity for a fatal blow against Satori, Kagami would have to go all out.
Clap!
With a crisp clap, Kagami brought his hands together.
Immediately afterward, all of the black Iron Sand filling the sky rose into the air, forming an incomparably massive black curtain that nearly blotted out the sky above the entire Konohagakure.
Staring at the overwhelming mass of black Iron Sand covering the sky above them, the corner of Jiraiya’s mouth twitched.
"Hey... Don’t tell me that guy wasn’t even using his full strength before?"
Tsunade, meanwhile, stared warily at Kagami in the sky and complained, "Didn’t the intelligence report say that Kamigami’s Magnet Release shinobi was only of ordinary strength? Just how did you people gather your intelligence?!"
Jiraiya and Tsunade were obviously not the only ones stunned by the Iron Sand filling the sky.
Mui stood on the ground with an astonished expression, while the other Konoha shinobi were completely dumbfounded.
Inside the Hokage’s office.
Through the window, the Third Hokage stared at the curtain of Iron Sand blanketing the entire village and ordered the ANBU beside him,
"Raise the threat level of Kamigami’s Magnet Release shinobi! He possesses enough power to destroy an entire shinobi village!"
Satori also realized that something was wrong.
It immediately dove downward, gliding toward the Box of Ultimate Bliss. Grabbing the Box with both claws, it attempted to flee Konoha.
However, the instant it lifted the Box of Ultimate Bliss, its body abruptly came to a halt.
Looking down, Satori discovered that the bottom of the Box had already been entangled by countless strands of black Iron Sand, firmly pinning it to the ground.
"You killed so many people from our Konoha, and you still think you can escape?!"
Tsunade shouted furiously and lunged forward.
Satori had no choice but to abandon the Box of Ultimate Bliss. Beating its wings, it shot high into the sky, narrowly avoiding Tsunade’s attack.
At that moment, Kagami manipulated the enormous curtain of Iron Sand filling the sky, bringing it crashing down toward Satori from every direction.
Satori could indeed sense fear and malice, allowing it to predict its enemies’ attacks. But through his earlier probing, Kagami had also discovered that if the frequency of the attacks was high enough and the methods sufficiently ingenious, it was still possible to overwhelm Satori’s senses and cause it trouble.
For example, the four-stage combination attack Jiraiya and Tsunade had launched earlier had come extremely close to hitting Satori.
Because of this, Kagami suspected that once someone reached the Six Paths level, they might be able to simply disregard Satori’s special ability altogether.
With overwhelming power, all tricks could be crushed head-on!
Faced with the overwhelming curtain of Iron Sand descending upon it from all directions, Satori finally showed a hint of panic.
Its wings beat chaotically as, for a moment, it seemed unable to decide whether it should charge straight through the Iron Sand curtain or evade it entirely.
Kagami immediately noticed this.
"If I fought it with everything I had, I might actually have a chance of winning!"
But the thought vanished almost as soon as it appeared.
Not a single member of Akatsuki had shown themselves yet. There was no way Kagami would fight this monster to the bitter end and exhaust himself here.
At the very instant Satori hesitated, a figure suddenly leaped high into the air.
In terms of speed, that figure was far slower than Tsunade had been when she attacked Satori earlier.
But Satori’s attention was entirely focused on the Iron Sand curtain filling the sky. It completely failed to notice this attack—an attack that, in truth, wasn’t even particularly sudden.
"Fire Style: Great Fire Heavenly Prison!"
Charging forward without the slightest hesitation, Mui, who had leaped high into the air, poured everything he had into unleashing the strongest secret technique of his entire life!
By the time Satori noticed the formula of the Great Fire Heavenly Prison spreading across its entire body, it was already too late.
It roared furiously,
"Damn you—"
BOOM!
Before Satori could even finish speaking, Kagami manipulated the Iron Sand into an enormous fist and smashed it directly into the monster, sending it crashing violently into the ground...
