Chapter 464: Chapter 464: Insignificant Insects

The sudden black iron spear not only stopped Satori’s surprise attack, but also drew the attention of everyone present.

Immediately afterward, a figure followed close behind and landed atop the black iron spear.

"Kamigami!?"

The Konoha shinobi all turned to look.

When they saw the newcomer dressed in a black robe trimmed with gold, with a mask bearing the pattern of raging winds over his face, they immediately recognized the attire of a member of Kamigami.

Hyuga Rei, who had fallen to the ground, also stared blankly at the unfamiliar figure standing atop the black iron spear. Thinking back on what had just happened, lingering fear still gripped her heart.

Standing atop the spear, Kagami discreetly glanced at Rei.

Seeing that she had merely been frightened and hadn’t suffered any injuries, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Then, inwardly, he cursed,

"Damn girl! Didn’t I already tell you not to get involved in dangerous battles? A fight on this level, and you still dared to rush to the front? Do you have a death wish!? Hmph, just wait until we get home. I’ll deal with you then!"

Originally, Kagami could have remained hidden in the shadows and let the village hold the line for a while.

Once the Akatsuki members officially appeared, he could have chosen the right opportunity to deliver a devastating blow to either Nagato or Obito. With a surprise attack, he might have been able to severely injure—or perhaps even eliminate—one of them.

But Rei being placed in danger had forced him to intervene in the battle prematurely.

As a result, Kagami, who had originally held the initiative, had suddenly stepped into the open, entering the sights of both Konoha and Akatsuki and putting himself in a passive position.

However, now that he had already made his move, regret and frustration were meaningless.

After thinking for a moment, he turned toward the Konoha shinobi scattered all around after being completely overwhelmed by a single charge from Satori and mocked them,

"Tch. What a bunch of trash. Is this really all the strength Konoha, the foremost of the Five Great Shinobi Villages, has to offer?"

At that moment, Tsunade forced herself back onto her feet, her brows slightly furrowed.

"You’re from Kamigami?"

Kagami’s gaze shifted slightly as he glanced at Tsunade.

There was no doubt that Tsunade was currently being hindered by her hemophobia, preventing her from displaying anything close to her true strength. Had Kagami not intervened, she wouldn’t even have been able to save her own disciple despite Rei being right in front of her.

Still, it had to be acknowledged that Tsunade’s condition was considerably milder than Kagami had expected.

In the original timeline, before overcoming her hemophobia, merely seeing blood was enough to send Tsunade into a near-total breakdown.

Yet right now, flesh and blood were scattered all around her, leaving the battlefield a gruesome mess, and she was still able to grit her teeth and stand. Her mind remained clear enough to observe the changing situation on the battlefield.

Clearly, she had already begun trying to overcome her hemophobia.

In fact, after returning to the village and realizing that a battle with Akatsuki was inevitable sooner or later, Tsunade had already begun secretly working to overcome her condition.

After practicing for some time, small amounts of blood no longer affected her much. That was precisely why she had been willing to lead a team here to reinforce Jiraiya.

What no one had expected was for Satori to be so troublesome.

The moment it appeared, it slaughtered its way through the battlefield, sending flesh and blood flying everywhere and presenting Tsunade with the most gruesome scene imaginable. Faced with such an extreme situation all at once, even she found it difficult to endure.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

At that moment, Satori, soaring through the air, suddenly swept its wings.

In an instant, countless razor-sharp black feathers came screaming down toward the ground!

Kagami frowned and immediately swept his right hand through the air.

Under the influence of his Magnet Release chakra, the black Iron Sand swirling around him instantly transformed into a massive shield, covering everyone beneath it.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Satori’s feathers slammed into the enormous Iron Sand shield, producing a continuous series of crisp metallic impacts!

"Quickly, treat our injured comrades!"

After giving instructions to several of her students, Tsunade turned toward Kagami and asked,

"Why are you helping us? What does Kamigami want?"

Watching Rei disregard her own safety as she treated the wounded around her, Kagami’s expression darkened.

He turned toward Tsunade.

"Helping you?

"Hmph. I simply find this monster somewhat interesting, that’s all!"

After saying that, Kagami kept a wary eye on Satori as it circled through the sky while carefully manipulating masses of Iron Sand to carry Rei and many of the injured Konoha shinobi farther away.

Seeing the black Iron Sand sweep away so many wounded Konoha shinobi, Tsunade immediately demanded,

"What are you doing?!"

Kagami deliberately replied in an icy voice,

"Getting these useless pieces of trash out of here so they don’t get in my way!"

"You—!"

Tsunade was somewhat infuriated.

Although the successive deaths of her younger brother and lover had dealt her such devastating blows that her sense of attachment to Konoha was nowhere near as strong as it once had been, she still couldn’t help getting angry when she saw someone looking down on Konoha like this.

But after thinking about it, she realized that evacuating the wounded and the weaker Konoha shinobi really was the best course of action at the moment.

She therefore ordered the Konoha shinobi around her,

"Jonin stay! Everyone else, withdraw!"

Boom!

At that moment, Jiraiya burst out from beneath the rubble nearby.

Panting heavily, he shouted toward Tsunade,

"Watch out for that monster! It can read minds! It can see through every single one of our attacks!"

The injured Gamabunta weakly added,

"Against a monster like this, we don’t stand a chance!"

"Damn it!"

Tsunade looked up at Satori soaring through the sky, her fists clenched tightly.

The devastated state of the village and the fallen comrades scattered around her were pushing her, little by little, to break free from the effects her hemophobia had on her body.

High above them, Satori suddenly let out a series of strange, eerie laughs.

"Can you feel the fear?

"You insignificant insects actually dare try to resist me?

"How laughable!"

"Insects!?"

Standing atop the black iron spear, Kagami’s expression gradually turned cold.

He then pulled a storage scroll from the pouch at his waist, tossed it lightly into the air, clasped his hands together, and shouted,

"Release!"

Whoosh—!

Amid a burst of white smoke, an enormous quantity of black Iron Sand poured from the storage scroll in midair like a cascading waterfall of sand.

Kagami never made the same mistake twice.

Previously, because he hadn’t prepared enough Iron Sand, he had been thoroughly caught off guard by the reincarnations of the First and Second Hokage.

Having learned his lesson once, whenever he used the Type-A Wind Release clone now, he always carried a storage scroll specifically filled with Iron Sand.

With an ample supply of Iron Sand at his disposal, Kagami formed a series of hand seals and shouted,

"Magnet Style: Iron Sand Drizzle!"

Swish! Swish! Swish!

In an instant, the enormous mass of Iron Sand transformed into countless finger-thick grains of iron, shooting toward Satori in the sky like a torrential downpour that seemed to blanket the heavens!

Tsunade’s face lit up.

"With such a dense, wide-range attack, there’s no way something that large can possibly dodge it all!"

Yet before the joy on Tsunade’s face could fully spread, her expression froze.

Satori, soaring through the sky, had somehow evaded every single grain of Iron Sand with unbelievable speed.

"Hahahaha...!"

Satori’s arrogant laughter echoed throughout the skies above the village, as though it were mocking all of Konoha.

"So it really won’t work..."

Kagami’s expression remained unchanged.

He glanced into the distance and thought,

"Hopefully, the contingency I arranged will work..."
