Reaching for Kekkai Tota(2)
This proved to be a very time consumptive process as there were many possible combinations I could try. It took me nearly four weeks to just barely keep the two conflicting energies not to clash. The ratio for this was twenty wind, sixty three water and seventeen fire. This didn’t create Zero release however and was still quite unstable which told me I needed to work on the ratio from the wind side of things this time. I didn’t get to do that however as Naruto finally returned from his training with jiraiya and wanted to go hunting Sasuke down immediately to drag him back to the village.-
“You do realize he willingly betrayed the village and everyone here right?” I asked my blonde friend with a disapproving look after he came to ask me for my help in this matter.
“He took a wrong path but I refuse to give up on him!” Naruto said firmly.
“And why then should I help you hmm? I certainly was not friends with the guy and consider him a traitor to be killed on sight just like his brother Itachi who might I remind you put Kakashi in the hospital with serious trauma and even tried to kill you as well.” I said seriously.
“I’m telling you he’s not that bad of a person, just trapped in the dark! When we fought in the valley of the end he could have killed me but instead he left me alive! That alone proves that I’m right!” Naruto insisted.
“Again what does this have to do with me?” I asked not budging an inch.
“You are the best person I know at doing things so you’ve gotta have some way to find him right?” he said awkwardly scratching the back of his head.
I rubbed the bridge of my nose in annoyance “You mean to tell me you don’t even know what you want me to do or even if I actually COULD do anything? You just assume I have something up my sleeve for a situation like this, is that right?” I asked with a bit of a headache.
“Yes?” he said awkwardly and I felt an intense desire to punch him in the face that I held back with my iron will.
“Leave and don’t bring this matter up again unless you actually have a damn plan!” I scolded him while all but sending him flying out of my house.
‘I can’t believe this dude actually had the nerve to ask me for help without even know what exactly he wanted me to do! Even worse that he thought I’d just up and help him track down someone who willingly betrayed the village just so he could try and convince him to return to the village.’ I though with annoyance at the whole interaction.
Naruto didn’t do the smart thing and leave the matter alone until he had an actual plan though but went to my sensei to try and get her to get me to help.
That went about the same as this meeting with me did except she actually punched him for trying this nonsense approach. We could all understand wanting to get it done and over with as fast as possible but rushing it like this was not a good idea at all. Finding nothing but failure at trying to rush Naruto was forced to swallow his impatience and actually try and come up with some semblance of a plan. He wasn’t exactly the smartest of people though and couldn’t really come up with anything solid enough to have even the smallest chance of success. –
Scent track? Too much time had passed and reverse summoning was a thing. Rumors? There were none about an Uchiha that weren’t about Itachi. Spies? We had none in Orochimaru’s forces, hell we weren’t a hundred percent sure what the snakes forces even looked like beyond vague outlines. I might hate the slimy bastard but even I had to admit that his “hidden village” was actually hidden. That place in the land of rice was obviously just a cover and not the actual location of his forces which was the only reason I hadn’t personally leveled it.-
Anyway with Naruto now wracking his brain to try and figure out some sort of functional plan beyond “ask Kenzo to figure it out” I was finally free to pursue Kekkai Tota again. I slowly increased the amount of wind chakra in the mix while lowering the amount of water chakra until in a stroke of good fortune I got a spark of Zero release chakra a month later that I immediately lost in my excitement. That was fine though as I roughly understood the ratio now and could recreate it much easier from now on. Surprisingly the ratio I finally settled on was fifty one wind, seventeen fire and thirty two water.-
As I had thought from observing Shiro using the Kekkai Tota the power was an absolute energy sink that made it next to impossible for anyone without large chakra reserves to use. That wasn’t a problem for me though as my chakra reserve was nearly comparable to the nine tailed beast itself. Saying that I was a humanoid tailed beast would not be far from the truth as a result and I was only turning fifteen in a couple of months and thus still growing.-
“So you’ve finally managed to recreate that ability as well. I’m not surprised after the amount of Kekkai genkai you have recreated. Will you be sharing this with the village as well or no?” my sensei asked seriously.
I shook my head “I won’t be sharing it as unlike the Kekkai genkai this is something that could absolutely be counted as a forbidden topic. Much like dust release there is no countering Zero release and unlike Dust release dodging it was also not a luxury most facing it will have. It’s an area of effect type thing after all.” I say seriously.
“I understand, will you be trying to recreate Dust release as well or taking a break from chakra nature and Kekkai anything research?” she asked relaxing after my answer.
“I’ll be focusing most of my time on mastering Zero release for now but it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to say I will be mostly free.” I said with a shrug.
