New week. Let’s Push!!

After a moment of hesitation, Hinamori Momo bowed deeply to Shin. “Master Shin,” she began, “I would be honored to receive your guidance.”
“???”
Shin opened his eyes, glanced at her, and then closed them again.
“Not interested.” This was his time to slack off, and he had no intention of teaching some random student.
‘So he refused…’ A look of disappointment crossed Hinamori’s face. She had expected it, but the rejection still stung.
“Alright, don’t disturb my rest,” Shin said, waving her away.
“I apologize for bothering you. I’ll leave right now,” Hinamori said quickly, turning to depart.
“Wait.” Shin’s voice stopped her just as she was about to leave.
A glimmer of hope appeared on Hinamori’s face. Had he changed his mind? Was he going to teach her after all?
But she was getting ahead of herself. Shin hadn’t said anything about teaching her, and that thought hadn’t even crossed his mind.
“You haven’t graduated from the Shin’ō Academy yet, have you?” Shin asked her.
If she had already graduated, she wouldn’t still be here. Her presence meant she was still a student.
“No, Master Shin. I’ll be graduating soon, but I feel my skills are still lacking. I want to become stronger,” Hinamori replied with a serious nod.
“If Master Shin could just offer me a little bit of guidance, I would be more than satisfied,” she added, her eyes shining with hope.
Being looked at with such earnest expectation by a young girl, Shin found it hard to refuse.
“How about this: if you’re willing to prepare some meals for me, I don’t mind giving you a few pointers—assuming you have some talent.”
Shin said to Hinamori. Hearing his answer, she almost jumped for joy.
“Thank you, Master Shin!” Hinamori nodded earnestly, then turned and hurried away.
‘Is she really going to make me lunch?’ Shin lay back down. If it meant a more comfortable life, he didn’t mind wasting a little time teaching her. But it all depended on her talent. If she was hopeless, it wouldn’t be worth his time.
In the original story, Hinamori had never really stood out. She was unremarkable, with no particularly shining moments.
It wasn’t long before Hinamori returned, this time carrying a large bundle that was clearly a lunch box.
“I’ve prepared this for you. I hope you like it, Master Shin,” she said, looking at him expectantly.
Shin’s eyes lit up. The aroma alone was enough to pique his interest.
The lunch Hinamori prepared was sumptuous, with all sorts of meat, noodles, and rice, and plenty of it.
As Shin began to eat, Hinamori watched him nervously, hoping he would be satisfied.
“Not bad at all.”
After taking a few bites, Shin realized her cooking skills were nearly on par with Mikoto’s. He was more than satisfied.
An idea began to form in his mind. Teaching Hinamori might not be a bad idea. And it wasn’t just because of her delicious food.
There were other reasons. Hinamori wasn’t entirely useless to him; she might prove to be a valuable asset in the future.
“I’m quite satisfied. I don’t mind teaching you from now on.”
Shin glanced at Hinamori. Her skills were not impressive.
At least, in his eyes, she was pitifully weak. She’d probably have a hard time against any reasonably strong Hollow.
But among her peers, Hinamori’s skills were probably quite good.
“What do you want to learn?”
Shin asked her.
“I want to learn Kidō,” she answered immediately. It was her strongest area and the one she was most eager to improve.
Hinamori was indeed a Kidō specialist. Her other skills weren’t particularly outstanding, but she excelled in Kidō.
“Learning Kidō is fine. Take this and study it first.” Shin handed her a book on the subject.
It contained some low and mid-level Kidō spells—specifically, Hadō and Bakudō up to number 50.
These weren’t particularly valuable to Shin, but to Hinamori, they were priceless. She was stunned when she saw the contents.
This was incredibly generous. If she could master these, becoming a lieutenant would be well within her reach.
“Study it on your own for now. If you have any questions, you can ask me.”
Shin said to Hinamori.
These were techniques Hinamori had never encountered before. To master them, she would undoubtedly need Shin’s guidance. If he didn’t teach her, she might never be able to learn them all.
Learning even low-level Kidō wasn’t easy. It was one of the fundamental combat arts of a Soul Reaper, something every one of them knew.
But knowing and mastering were two different things. Many knew the basics, but few were truly proficient.
Afterward, as Shin ate the lunch Hinamori had made, she began to study the Kidō he had given her. Whenever she had a question, she would ask him, and Shin, having accepted her food, wouldn’t hold back his explanations. After all, he couldn’t just take her food without giving something in return.
“Hadō #31: Shakkahō!”
Hinamori unleashed the spell, incinerating a small area in front of her before collapsing to the ground.
“Your Spiritual Pressure is pathetic. You can’t even handle a single Shakkahō.”
Shin said, looking at her.
“I’m sorry, I’m too weak.” Hinamori lowered her head in apology, looking so fragile that it almost seemed as if Shin was bullying her.
“Forget it. Just keep working hard.”
Shin didn’t say anything more. A lack of Spiritual Pressure wasn’t something she could easily fix. Some people’s potential was determined from birth.
Hinamori’s Spiritual Pressure wasn’t weak by nature—at least not compared to ordinary souls. But when compared to a true prodigy, she was far behind.
She was no genius, just an average girl. If she wanted to become stronger, she would have to make up for it with hard work.
