Kyōraku was torn, but finally, he made his decision. He bent down and picked up the straw hat he had dropped.
“Let’s go.”
He gave in. For the sake of their old camaraderie, Kyōraku decided to let them go.
“You’d better not do anything to harm Soul Society. If you do, I won’t let you off the hook,” Kyōraku said, his expression serious.
However, Hirako and the others weren’t looking at Kyōraku. Their eyes were on Shin, because he was the one with the real power to decide their fate.
If it had just been Kyōraku, they wouldn’t have been so easily defeated. They had already taken him down once and had chosen not to kill him.
Otherwise, Kyōraku probably wouldn’t have survived until Shin’s arrival.
“Honestly, I’m a pretty laid-back guy. I’d rather not get involved in unnecessary trouble.” Shin glanced at Hirako, Rose, and Kensei, then turned and walked away.
“He’s just leaving?”
Lisa Yadomaru’s expression was one of disbelief. She couldn’t believe Shin had just walked away.
“It’s a good thing for us, isn’t it? I never would have thought Captain Shin, who always kept to himself, would be so terrifyingly strong. I think he’s even scarier than Aizen. Not even Captain-Commander Yamamoto has such an oppressive presence.”
Hirako’s expression was unusually serious. He hated to admit it, but the man’s strength was truly terrifying.
His own power had been crushed in an instant. Even if they all used their Hollowfication, they probably wouldn’t last long against Shin.
Kyōraku gave them one last look, then followed Shin, leaving with him. He didn’t know if what he was doing was right or wrong.
In truth, Kyōraku’s choice to let them go was also partly for his own selfish reasons. Lisa Yadomaru, his former vice-captain in Squad 8, was among them, and their bond was strong.
That was why Kyōraku ultimately made that choice.
“Shin, about what they said earlier… about Aizen being involved. Do you think there’s any truth to it?” Kyōraku asked Shin.
“What do you think?” Shin didn’t answer, instead turning the question back to Kyōraku.
“I know Captain Aizen. He doesn’t seem like a bad person. Besides, even if he did plot against the other captains, does he have that kind of power?”
Kyōraku said with a frown. But Hirako and the others had no reason to lie to him.
“Things aren’t always what they seem. Open your eyes and see the truth.”
Shin patted Kyōraku’s shoulder, then opened a Senkaimon and returned to the Soul Society.
“Hey, are we just going back like this?”
Kyōraku, seeing Shin leave, quickly followed.
“We have an excuse now, so it’s fine to go back,” Shin said with a smile. For some reason, Kyōraku felt a chill run down his spine as he looked at Shin’s smile.

Returning to the Seireitei, they had to report to the First Division barracks and explain the situation to the old man, Yamamoto.
“Well, if it isn’t Captain Aizen.”
When Shin arrived at the First Division barracks and saw Aizen, he greeted him with a smile. Aizen returned the smile with a gentle one of his own.
But things weren’t as harmonious as they seemed. If there was one person Aizen was most wary of, it was Shin.
With Shin Uzumaki around, his plans could be shattered at any moment. So, if he had the chance, Aizen would eliminate him.
Unfortunately, for now, Aizen didn’t dare to act rashly. Otherwise, the one who died wouldn’t be Shin Uzumaki, but him.
And he couldn’t see through Shin Uzumaki’s thoughts. He was sure Shin knew the truth of this incident, yet he hadn’t revealed anything.
Even if Shin had no evidence, speaking up would still cause him considerable trouble, but he hadn’t.
Aizen couldn’t help but take this unfathomable person seriously.
“Captain Shin, Captain Kyōraku, welcome back. I wonder if you had any results in capturing those traitors?” Aizen asked with a smile.
“It’s a real shame, actually. I was about to capture them, but Captain Kyōraku here stopped me. Just let them get away.”
Shin turned to look at Kyōraku and said.
Kyōraku’s face was one of stunned disbelief, and then he shot a glare at Shin. He knew Shin would set him up, but it was true that Kyōraku wanted to let the Visoreds go.
Of course, Shin had no intention of doing anything to the Visoreds either. Otherwise, he could have destroyed them with a single move.
“Captain Kyōraku, what’s this about?” Yamamoto asked him.
A wry smile crossed Kyōraku’s face. So this was Shin’s plan—to throw him under the bus… It was a good plan, making Kyōraku want to strangle him right now!!
“I felt there were some suspicious points in this matter. It’s better to investigate thoroughly before acting. We shouldn’t wrongly accuse good people, don’t you think, Captain Aizen?”
As Kyōraku spoke, he looked directly at Aizen, trying to see his reaction.
But he was disappointed. Aizen’s face showed no trace of anything unusual. Instead, he nodded at Kyōraku.
“I think Captain Kyōraku is right. It wouldn’t be good to wrongly accuse good people.”
There wasn’t a single flaw. Even Shin couldn’t find any fault in Aizen’s acting, let alone Kyōraku.
It would be strange if Kyōraku could see through it.
Frowning, Kyōraku fell into deep thought. No one knew what he was thinking.
“What about Kiganjō Kenpachi? Where is he now?” Yamamoto asked Shin and Kyōraku.
Three people had gone, but only two returned.
“There was a… minor incident. Kiganjō Kenpachi vanished while we were passing through the Senkaimon. Must have been some kind of accident,” Shin said.
Kyōraku glanced at Shin, then nodded.
He also didn’t know how Kiganjō Kenpachi had gone missing. Though he suspected Shin had something to do with it, it was just a suspicion.
Besides, given his relationship with Shin, Kyōraku wanted to keep it a secret and had no intention of revealing anything.
It had to be said that Kyōraku was quite righteous, completely unlike the troublemaker Shin.
Aizen narrowed his eyes. His intuition told him there was definitely something wrong. Shin and Kyōraku had returned, but Kiganjō Kenpachi hadn’t.
If there was nothing going on, that would be impossible. But Aizen didn’t want to guess too much. Guessing too much would only be detrimental to him.
So, after thinking it over, Aizen said nothing, instead waiting to hear about Hirako and the others’ situation. Aizen wasn’t afraid of them revealing anything.
They had no evidence, and Aizen hadn’t acted personally. Kyōraku might know something, but it wasn’t a major issue.
