When Shin said it wouldn’t be a problem, Kyōraku’s anxiety only grew. The more Shin tried to reassure him, the more he felt something was bound to go wrong.

“I don’t believe you when you say it won’t be a problem,” Kyōraku said warily.

“Still don’t trust me? Would I really set you up? I’m such an honest person, I’d never do that.”

Shin said, patting Kyōraku’s shoulder again.

Kyōraku’s mouth twitched. If Shin had claimed to be handsome, Kyōraku would have just accepted it as a fact. The guy was indeed good-looking. But to call himself honest? Kyōraku didn’t believe it for a second.

“How about we split up for now?”

Kyōraku left, heading off to search for Hirako and the others. He needed to find them to understand why they had defected. He didn’t believe they would truly covet the power of Hollows and betray the Soul Society.

Shin watched him leave and shook his head, then entered the Kamui dimension. Inside, besides Shin, there was another person.

It was Kenpachi Kiganjō. On the way through the Dangai, Shin had pulled him into the Kamui dimension. At this moment, Kiganjō was frantically attacking everything in sight with his Zanpakutō.

“You idiot, stop wasting your energy. It’s useless,” Shin’s calm voice reached Kiganjō’s ears.

“Shin Uzumaki. I knew it was you.”

Even the newly appointed captains held great respect for Shin’s power. Of course, there were those who were dismissive, like Kiganjō himself. He had thought Shin’s strength was nothing special. Now, terrified by Shin’s horrifying killing intent, he was starting to lose his nerve.

“I DON’T BELIEVE I’M WEAKER THAN YOU!”

Kiganjō finally roared. Even if he surrendered now, Shin Uzumaki wouldn’t let him go. No one would spare an enemy. Only a fool would release a tiger back into the mountains.

In truth, Kiganjō was overthinking it. To be a tiger, you had to actually be one. But in reality, he wasn’t even a paper tiger. In Shin’s eyes, Kiganjō was nothing more than a speck of dust. As Aizen would say, whether you sweep away one speck of dust or two, what difference does it make if you can’t see it with the naked eye?

As Kiganjō charged at Shin with his Zanpakutō, Shin drew his own blade.

With a single clash, Kiganjō’s sword was shattered. His body fell to the ground, his life extinguished.

“Weakling. Killing you was effortless.”

Shin turned away calmly. Kiganjō’s body had been sliced in two, his life completely gone. No one could save him now.

Shin tossed Kiganjō’s body out and left the Kamui dimension.

It was a magnet for Hollows, and Shinigami who left the Soul Society preferred to stay in such places. In other areas, where spiritual particles were scarce, a Shinigami’s existence would consume them. If they stayed in a place lacking spiritual particles for too long, their own power would weaken, and they might even fade away.

A Jūreichi, at the very least, could sustain a Shinigami, and even allow them to train and grow stronger.

As he was walking, Shin suddenly felt Kyōraku’s distress call.
