“HUMANS, I WANT YOU ALL DEAD!”

Arlong struggled upright with another roar. Even without his Kiribachi saw-tooth blade, Arlong remained undaunted. His entire body served as a weapon—razor-sharp teeth that could bite through steel itself.

His pointed nose doubled as a spear, capable of deflecting sword strikes with ease.

Of course, this only applied against ordinary attacks. Any true swordsman would bisect Arlong with casual effort, ensuring his complete destruction.

“Still can’t read the room.” Shin observed the charging Arlong with mild annoyance.

Hadn’t the previous exchange taught him anything? Didn’t his wounds provide sufficient reality check?

Shin had misjudged—he’d assumed Arlong possessed basic situational awareness. Reality proved otherwise.

Despite Arlong’s loud proclamations, his actions revealed pure cowardice. After all that bluster, he suddenly turned and fled in panicked desperation.

“…”

“Arlong’s actually running away?” Nami watched in stunned disbelief as her tormentor scrambled to escape.

“Did the Captain give you permission to leave?”

Kalifa’s form vanished, reappearing directly in Arlong’s path.

Seeing her sudden materialization, Arlong skidded to a halt, his face contorted with fear.

This woman had shattered his weapon and carved grievous wounds into his supposedly impervious body with a single kick.

Fear gripped Arlong despite his proclaimed superiority over humans. When faced with truly powerful individuals, his courage evaporated entirely.

“Woman, don’t push me too far, or else…”

Mid-threat, Arlong lunged forward in a desperate attack. She wouldn’t spare him—his only option was fighting through.

“Die, foolish woman!”

Seeing her complete lack of defensive movement as he closed in, cruel satisfaction spread across Arlong’s features.

His fist drove toward Kalifa with force sufficient to deform steel itself. Yet after striking, Arlong froze in confusion. No sensation of impact—his fist had passed through empty air.

“You think someone like you could touch me? I could kill your kind all day without effort.” Kalifa’s cold voice drifted from behind.

Arlong felt the devastating impact before he could react, his body catapulting backward to crater the ground.

He struggled desperately to rise, but his injuries proved too severe. Despite his efforts, he could only glare up with impotent hatred.

“Release me immediately! My sworn brother is Jinbe of the Seven Warlords!” Arlong played his final card.

Shin found it genuinely amusing. If Jinbe were present, he might indeed attempt a rescue. But threatening him with Jinbe’s name? What kind of joke was this?

“Nami, he’s all yours.” Shin addressed his navigator.

“Mine?” Nami’s expression went blank before shifting to stare at Arlong.

Arlong’s vicious gaze locked onto her. “Nami, you don’t have the guts to kill me!!”

“Still making threats in your position? Finish him, Nami.” Shin handed her the Kusanagi sword.

Regular blades would struggle to cut through Arlong’s tough scales. But the Kusanagi was one of the legendary artifacts from the Naruto world. Shin had tested it himself—the blade was easily on par with the Supreme Grade swords.

“Can’t you find the courage? If Arlong survives, do you think he’ll spare Cocoyashi Village?”

Shin studied Nami intently. Survival in this world demanded abandoning excessive mercy.

The more compassion one showed, the more suffering would follow.

“Arlong, you’ve committed too many atrocities. Today I avenge my mother Bell-mère.” Hatred crystallized in Nami’s eyes as she remembered her adoptive mother.

“Die, Arlong!” Nami’s hesitation vanished as she raised the Kusanagi, bringing it down in a decisive arc.

The other fish-men attempted rescue, but Kalifa’s Tempest Kick bisected them all instantly.

She’d shown mercy to Arlong on Shin’s orders. No such restriction applied to the rest of these pirates.

“You can’t kill me!” Arlong’s voice dripped with disdain. Find the newest release on NoveI[F]ire.net

With Nami’s pathetic strength, even armed with a sword, she couldn’t possibly wound him. Arlong’s faith in his defenses remained absolute.

Reality shattered his delusions…

How sharp was a Supreme Grade sword? It could cleave through Seastone itself. Its edge alone sufficed—no great strength required. Breaching Arlong’s defenses proved trivially simple.

So when Nami slashed down, Arlong’s eyes widened in final disbelief. No prolonged suffering—one clean strike ended him forever.

Gazing at Arlong’s corpse, Nami felt waves of disconnection. She managed to keep her composure despite the nausea—she’d seen enough death already.

But taking a life herself? This marked her first kill, explaining the unsettling sensation.

“Is Arlong really dead? I finally avenged Bell-mère.” Nami collapsed to her knees as tears streamed down her face.

Bell-mère had been Nami and Nojiko’s adoptive mother—a former Marine murdered by Arlong.

She’d died protecting her daughters.

Shin approached and gently ruffled Nami’s hair, offering silent support rather than empty platitudes. Some grief needed space to breathe.

After considerable time, Nami finally collected herself, gazing at Shin with profound gratitude.

“Thank you, Captain.” Her thanks carried genuine weight.

“You’re my crew now. My people don’t suffer injustices.” Shin’s response came naturally.

“Joining the Kuja Pirates is my greatest honor.”

Nami meant every word. Without them, revenge might have remained forever beyond reach. In the original story, though Luffy defeated Arlong, the fish-man survived to face imprisonment.

“Let’s head back to the village. We’ll be departing soon, so make your farewells.”

Shin’s words left no room for doubt. Their time in the East Blue was nearly over, soon they would return to the Grand Line or the New World.

Nami nodded, but grabbed Arlong’s corpse before leaving.

Upon returning to the village, Genzo’s reaction to seeing Arlong’s body was pure shock.

“Is that… is Arlong really dead?” Genzo could barely process the sight.

His loud exclamation drew other villagers, who quickly surrounded them to stare at the corpse.

“Yes, Arlong’s dead. The village is free now. No more living under the fish-men’s tyranny.” Nami’s smile radiated pure joy.

Her longtime dream had become reality. Plus, all her saved money could stay with her. Happiness overwhelmed her completely.
