In the blink of an eye, several months had passed on this nameless island. Shin and his group had temporarily settled here.

“I just saw a News Coo fly by. Did you buy a newspaper?” Shin asked the approaching Olvia.

“Yes, a lot has happened on the sea recently. The biggest of which is the conflict between Kaido’s Beast Pirates and the Marines.”

Olvia said to Shin.

“Kaido’s Beast Pirates and the Marines? Why the sudden conflict? Haven’t they always kept their distance?”

Shin was a bit puzzled. Weren’t the Four Emperors and the Marines supposed to be in a careful balance, with neither side willing to make the first move?

“According to what I just read in the newspaper, Jack the Drought from the Beast Pirates got captured by Akainu. Then Kaido sent King the Conflagration and Queen the Plague to rescue Jack, and they destroyed several Marine warships in the process.”

“Akainu showed up later and had a massive battle with the three All-Stars—After that, the Marines and the Beast Pirates officially went to war.”

Olvia explained the situation to Shin.

“I see. Things are getting interesting.” Shin perked up with interest.

The Marines and an Emperor-level pirate could not easily go to war.

It wasn’t that the Marines were weaker than the Four Emperors.

Honestly, if the Marines went all out, any single Emperor would get crushed. Just look at the Summit War—didn’t Whitebeard end up dead? And during that war, plenty of Marines were holding back.

Take Garp, for example—he probably wanted Whitebeard to rescue Ace, so he barely did anything.

It’s a good thing he didn’t help the Whitebeard Pirates. The only one who really gave it everything during the Summit War was Akainu. Everyone else was either slacking off or just going through the motions.

The reason the Marines won’t easily move against the Four Emperors is they’re terrified of them joining forces.

Everyone knows the old saying—’united we stand, divided we fall.’

If the Marines can take out the Beast Pirates today, tomorrow they might go after the Whitebeard Pirates. So if the Beast Pirates were really in deep trouble, even with all the bad blood between them and the Whitebeard Pirates, Whitebeard would definitely step in to help.

As for Red-Haired Shanks, he might not directly fight the Marines, but he’d sure as hell find a way to stop the battle. Shin could just sit back and enjoy the show, because whether the Marines or Kaido took a beating, it wouldn’t affect him one bit.

“How was the battle between Akainu and Kaido?” Shin asked Olvia.

“I don’t know. Are you really that interested, Shin?”

Olvia shook her head. She’d only gotten some basic info through the newspapers. She didn’t know the specific details of the fight.

“I am a bit interested. The seas have been calm for way too long. Now that something big is finally happening, of course I want to pay attention.”

Shin said to Olvia.

Ever since Shin took down Big Mom, the seas had been eerily calm, especially in the New World. Pirates who used to run wild were keeping their heads down. But now this massive showdown between Akainu and Kaido was stirring things up again.

“I haven’t been out to sea in ages. We’ve been stuck on this island way too long. Come on, let’s set sail and see what’s happening out there.” Shin stood up and addressed the Kuja Pirates.

It was time to get moving and witness some real action—specifically, the showdown between Akainu and Kaido.

Both were absolute powerhouses.

Among the three Admirals, Akainu was probably the strongest, though honestly, all three were pretty evenly matched. That bastard Kizaru never seemed to go all-out in any fight, so it was hard to tell who’d really come out on top.

Still, Akainu definitely had a slight edge over Aokiji.

But against Kaido? One Admiral wouldn’t stand a chance.

Plus, Kaido had his three All-Stars backing him up, and those guys were no joke. Even the weakest one—Jack the Drought—could easily crush most Marine Vice Admirals.

Of course, if things got serious, the Marines would send backup. The real question was how much firepower they’d bring. If they went all-out, they could definitely wipe Kaido’s Beast Pirates off the map entirely.

“I wonder if the Warlords will show up for this war between the Marines and pirates,” Robin mused as she boarded the ship. These days, the Seven Warlords were basically seen as the Marines’ lapdogs.

“Knowing Sengoku’s personality, he’ll definitely call in the Seven Warlords,” Shin nodded.

If he were in Sengoku’s position, he’d do the exact same thing. The reasoning was simple—you always plan for the worst-case scenario. And what was the worst case here?

An all-out war between the Marines and pirates.

Sure, Sengoku would try to prevent that from happening, but once things got rolling, nobody could predict how it would all play out.

“I want to get in on the action too.” Hancock said, gripping the hilt of Ame no Habakiri.

“We’re not getting involved. We’re here to watch the show.” Shin pinched Hancock’s cheek and told her.

“Are we really just going to watch the show?”

Hearing this, Hancock couldn’t help but look a bit disappointed.

“Exactly. Why would we get involved? This is between the Marines and the Beast Pirates. But I guarantee we won’t be the only ones watching from the sidelines.”

Shin had zero interest in jumping into a fight between Admiral Akainu and Kaido. Simple reason—there was nothing in it for him.

If he stood to gain something, he might’ve considered interfering.

The Pluton headed towards the place where Akainu and Kaido were fighting. As for the specific reason for the battle, Shin had figured it all out by now.

Jack the Drought had destroyed a village and had the bad luck of running into Akainu. Given Akainu’s personality, he definitely wouldn’t let any pirate slide, especially not Jack the Drought, one of Kaido’s three All-Stars.

Even if Kaido himself had been there, Akainu wouldn’t have backed down.

A huge battle broke out. Jack the Drought gave it everything he had but was no match for Marine Admiral Akainu and naturally got captured.

After that, everything played out just like the newspaper information Olvia had told Shin about. King the Conflagration and Queen the Plague made their move and rescued Jack the Drought.

The furious Akainu obviously wasn’t going to let the three All-Stars get away, so an all-out war erupted.

When Kaido appeared, Akainu was beaten back and forth, but soon, reinforcements from the Marines arrived.

Kizaru used the Glint-Glint Fruit to arrive at the fastest speed to support Akainu.

With Kizaru backing him up, Akainu wasn’t about to let Kaido slip away. The two had erupted into an epic battle that was still raging—and if anything, it seemed to be escalating.

————

The Pluton was incredibly fast, and since the battle wasn’t that far from their previous location, they arrived in no time.

“Looks like the intel’s already outdated. Aokiji has also arrived.” Shin looked at the frozen sea and couldn’t help commenting.

Honestly, against all three Admirals, even the Beast Pirates didn’t stand a chance—no matter how strong they were.
