Chapter 473 (2): Loser Will Take Their Pants Off. Are You In, or Are You a Coward? - Darienne

  • Next Chapter

Back to business. Wayne checked his watch, speaking from behind a mountain of chips. “This is the last round. I have important work today.”

“You think you can just come and go as you please?” Darienne countered. “Are you a sore loser or what?”

“Sis, look at the table. You have no chips.”

“Who said that? I’m going all in this round.” Darienne stared at Vichy tauntingly. “Loser will take their pants off. You have no chips, either. Are you in, or are you a coward?”

Vichy found the provocation beneath her, but after receiving Wayne’s message, she followed suit.

“Um, may I pull out if I lose in the end?” Sukra asked weakly. She would like to keep her pants on. She was here to be entertained rather than become the entertainment.

“If you can’t do it, don’t,” Darienne said, glaring at her. “Leave your chips and move away.”

After some hesitation, Sukra fled with her sofa.

That told Darienne, Corte, and Galen that the Holy Maiden of Death hadn’t gotten her hands on Wayne, and she was such a coward that she wouldn’t even make a small sacrifice for her faith.

You’re not loyal! x3

The card games ended at lightning speed. To no one’s surprise, Darienne and Vichy lost again.

“This is no fun. Winning every game isn’t challenging at all.” Wayne made a precise jab from behind his even bigger pile of chips.

Darienne grabbed the table with both hands and flipped it upward, but it didn’t budge.

Wayne was keeping it down.

This was the Holy Maiden of Darkness’s manor. Because he liked how the living room was renovated, his white moonlight liked it, too. Because his white moonlight liked it, he liked it even more. He would not allow Darienne to damage anything.

“Darienne, no one forces you to take off your pants. It won’t be your first time not paying up.”

“What? I’m not getting out of it today.”

Under Wayne’s exasperated gaze, Darienne swore to ensure mutual destruction with Vichy and dragged her to the doors on one side of the living room. They would undress in different rooms before walking out.

Wayne stroked his chin. He wondered if he should warn Vichy that Darienne would definitely go back on her word. He decided against it after a while, though. Darienne was in a bad mood today, so he would have to trouble Vichy to cheer her up.

Subordinates are meant to be thrown under the bus, aren’t they? I see you as mine to throw!

He looked at the two doors with anticipation. After a while, the doors opened simultaneously.

Dressed in her white suit—her pants still on—Darienne turned to the other door.

(는益는)

Vichy had actually undressed.

“Hahaha—”

Darienne doubled over and slammed the wall with her fists, almost dying of laughter. Her bad mood cleared up immediately.

Galen covered her face with a hand, unable to keep watching. Embarrassment aside, Knight Vichy of Darkness showed undeniably greater chivalrous spirit than Moonlight’s own unreliable knight.

Face blank, Vichy slammed the door shut with a loud bang.

Wayne caught the black laced underpants keenly. He believed he had designed several undergarments like that for Anastasia. Vichy had probably stolen a few because she liked them.

Darienne returned to the card table, still laughing. Everyone else found it proof of Vichy’s greater chivalrous spirit, though. Darienne had proven, through action, how extraordinary Vichy was.

At least she honored her word.

“I can’t. My tears are coming out.” Darienne slammed the table, speaking brightly. “Sukra’s out of the game, so her chips are mine now. I’m going to keep winning.”

“Be my guest. I need to get on with business now.”

Wayne snapped his fingers and took Anastasia to the second floor. At the bottom of the stairs, he ran into Vichy, who had just come out of the door.

Vichy opened her mouth, but instead of explaining herself, she apologized, “Boss, this subordinate has failed my duty. I left you—”

“No need to apologize. You’ve got long legs—I mean, you’re loyal and chivalrous. Come up to guard the door. Ana and I have something to talk about in private.”

“Understood.”

What can’t you talk about in the living room this late at night? Why must you go upstairs? x3

Darienne made a derisive face. “See?” she said to Corte and Galen. “Darkness has no shame. Vichy is far from my match.”

Whatever makes you happy! x2

“Talking behind others’ backs is most immoral, so I’m not going to say any more about Vichy. Come. Let’s play cards.”

You don’t know anything but card games. Do you even remember the oracles? x2

Corte and Galen sighed. They had offered themselves on a silver platter, but Wayne kept his door firmly shut and didn’t even allow them to enter. Their free offers were useless. They wondered how they could complete the goddesses’ mission.

The dry got drier, and the wet got wetter.

In the master bedroom on the second floor, Vichy set up a soundproof barrier and stood guard outside the door with her eyes closed. Remembering Anastasia’s warning, she inched away from the door before moving back.

Faith made one steadfast, while religions made one foolish. Her change in mindset was similar to what Galen had gone through.

Unlike her, Corte had taken a liking to Wayne because of his fire elements and was thus using the oracle as an excuse to approach him. Darienne, on the other hand, considered Wayne a friend and her successor. The oracle had come out of nowhere and caught her off guard, so she decisively let Wayne decide for both of them.

In the master bedroom, Wayne pinned Anastasia to the wall and had a taste. Then he patted her on the bottom. “Contact Ines. I have something to discuss with her.”

Anastasia nodded. After some consideration, she grabbed his neck and phoned the goddess while kissing him.

When she opened her eyes again, Ines had taken over. After a brief pause, She continued to kiss the pretty boy, walking them back to the edge of the bed.

“Enough already. Let’s take a rain check. I sought you out for something important...”

Wayne struggled to sit up, but his raw power was no match for a single point from Ines. She poked his forehead with one finger, and he dropped back down with a yelp.

She said that they had plenty of time. After doing it, they would even have five minutes for pillow talk.

Indeed, they got five minutes.

Lying in Wayne’s arms, Ines pushed him in complaint, “Keep going. Why did you stop?”

“Maybe next time. I have truly urgent business to talk about.”

“Hmph, if it’s Ana, you would go on nonstop!”

Possessive much, Sis? Wayne thought with satisfaction. He was about to say more when the goddess suddenly reverted to the white moonlight, and the door opened to reveal Vichy, possessed by Ines. She entered in a black suit.

Wayne’s eyes twitched. “Vichy is a good knight. Don’t mess around with her body.”

“Ana is a good Holy Maiden, and haven’t you laid your hands on her?” Ines came up with a smile, pushing Anastasia aside and pulling Wayne into Her arms.

Anastasia took a moment to recover. Smothering a smile, she rose elegantly and walked out of the bedroom, giving the pair some private time.

Ines frowned. “Damn Holy Maiden of Darkness, look at her haughty face. She makes it seem like she was here first. Without my help, she would still be single!”

You aren’t that much better yourself!

Wayne was going to sweet-talk Her, but couldn’t when he was staring at Vichy’s face. “Can’t you change the face?” he said stiffly. “I really can’t with this one.”

“I’m Vichy’s master. She’ll do whatever I have her do.” Ines looked down toward the living room, Her lips curling into a smile. “They’re persistent. So, have Kaleb and Siluk gotten what they want?”

Wayne shook his head.

“Fool. Why didn’t you take them when they volunteered?” Ines groused. “You should be smart enough to figure out my plan. Starting from their Holy Maidens and knights, they would gradually put more chips on the table until they could not scrounge up more. In the end, they would jump into the pit personally just like me, and they would have to live with their decision.”

She kissed the pretty boy, Her lips landing on his face instead because of his dodging.

“Stop moving!” Ines turned Wayne’s face back and ravished him thoroughly. “I give you one night to help the three women downstairs complete their oracles. You’ll profit, I won’t lose anything, and Kaleb and Siluk will think they’ve succeeded. It’ll be a win-win-win situation.”

My seed bank will lose hundreds of millions!

Wayne shook his head in denial, refusing to complete the oracles for the three unlucky ones no matter what Ines said.

“I didn’t expect you to care about the three of them so much. But...” Ines rested her head on his shoulder and whispered, “This is part of the plan. If you don’t take them, Kaleb and Siluk won’t be able to follow my lead, and if they don’t follow, my plan cannot progress. I alone won’t be enough to support you.”

“That is the case, but...”

“No but. Believe me. You should just lie back and think of Darkness.”

Ines blew at him seductively. “It’s the Sun and the Moonlight, two goddesses above the mortal realm. Don’t you want them as arm candy?”

Wayne’s mouth went dry. “Who’s the demon between us? You’re too good at this.”

“I have to earn my livelihood!” Ines chuckled, pressing her lips to Wayne’s. After more kissing, She said with leering eyes, “I’m unhappy that you don’t want to execute my plan, but I’m happy that you rejected them...”

“Is this... love?” Wayne pressed.

“It’s unlikely.” Ines stroked his face. “It won’t be so easy to make me fall for you. My feelings for you can at most be described as possessiveness. Still, I have high hopes for you. Keep working hard, and maybe I will fall one day.”

Her charm was so irresistible that Wayne flipped them over to pin Her to the bed, but because it was Vichy’s body, he didn’t continue.

Ines sat up with a chuckle, then said seriously, “Tell me then. What’s the urgent matter?”

“The thing is...”

Wayne explained the matter before creating a crystal of Mechanical Augmentation for Ines’s perusal. “Try it. If you get corrupted too, tell me. I’ll cure you with another corruption.”

“Incredible information,” Ines marveled. “One path to godhood is in my grasp. Aren’t you worried that I’ll toss you aside and cut ties with you?”

“No, indecisiveness will lead to failure. You’ve invested so much in me that if you pull out now, you’ll gain nothing.”

“Idiot, you should tell me that you believe in love. Is it that hard to coddle me?” Ines rolled Her eyes at him. Crushing the crystal, she murmured, “Mechanical Augmentation. Another god is going to be born. We don’t have a lot of time...”

Wayne caught the keyword. “What do you mean by ‘another’?” he asked with a frown. “You aren’t talking about me. Which god is being born?”

Ines glanced at him and pondered for a moment. “I can tell you, but it won’t help now. Go to Prussia to eliminate the source of this information, and I’ll tell you about it once you’re back.”

“What if I want to know now?” Wayne tried to pressure Her with his gaze.

Ines wasn’t intimidated at all. She took off Her suit jacket and tossed it under the bed, unbuttoning the shirt to the chest. That scared Wayne into backing off.

“If you don’t want to say it, don’t. I’ll bring Ana to Prussia with me. You have to help.”

“Deal.”

“I’m bringing those two downstairs, too. The risk is so high that I want them to share it...”

“Do what you must. They won’t say no when we’re dealing with a future enemy.”

Ines raised an eyebrow and smiled. She knew Wayne was in a rush, but She wouldn’t end things here. Grabbing his neck, She returned to the Divine Realm in the process of a deep kiss.

“...” x2

Vichy froze. She didn’t know whether she should open her mouth or close it. Politely getting off the bed, she picked up her black suit jacket and apologized sincerely for any offence she might have caused.

She didn’t mention her two superiors’ mistakes.

Such was loyalty!
