Mythical Three Kingdoms
Chapter 2433: Lone Wolf
Rushing all the way back, he didn’t dare go home, stealthily delivering Lyu Bu to Hua Tuo, hoping for a steady resolution, yet Hua Tuo admitted he couldn’t solve it.
Well, it’s not a major issue, after all, with Dr. Zhang around, the two combined can handle anything. He still had time, ample time to cover up this issue before his mother-in-law and wife discovered it.
However, first to follow him to the Northern Frontier was Ma Chao who came back, and now Gan Ning, who hadn’t been seen for years, unexpectedly congratulated him. Wasn’t this directly stating that he had won? How should he report this, should he go back and first report his safety?
The Night Illuminating Jade Lion beneath Zhao Yun seemed to understand his thoughts, dismissively snorted, then under Zhao Yun’s control, quickly chased toward the location of the free clinic.
When Zhao Yun delivered Zhang Zhongjing back to Hua Tuo’s research institute, and received news that nothing could be done, Zhao Yun expressed that he needed to calmly reflect, somewhat overwhelmed, seemingly having no way to explain.
However, what happened next left Zhao Yun even more overwhelmed. Diao Chan, Lyu Qiling, and Ma Yunlu came to the hospital, seemingly knowing that regardless of victory or defeat, one had to come, so they came to pick up their husbands, while the bruised and battered Sun Ce and Ma Chao limped in the distance, supporting each other.
“Zilong, are you okay?” Lyu Qiling, upon seeing Zhao Yun standing at the entrance of the inner residence, ran over directly, touching him frantically. After a while, she confirmed that Zhao Yun seemed unhurt, and breathed a long sigh of relief, then asked.
Zhao Yun awkwardly nodded, indicating his skin was intact. He hardly fought with Lyu Bu, then said nothing more, while Diao Chan looked at Zhao Yun with a slightly strange gaze.
“Eh, where’s my father?” After confirming Zhao Yun was completely fine, Lyu Qiling finally asked. In her impression, there were only two words to describe her father: Invincible!
“Ahem, the Marquis Wenn is slightly injured.” Zhao Yun stood awkwardly at the door, preventing the two from entering.
Diao Chan glanced at Zhao Yun, stepped inside, and Zhao Yun dared not actually stop her. Once inside, Diao Chan saw Lyu Bu, covered in blood, lying on the hospital bed while Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing were holding knives about to proceed, and immediately disregarded anything, rushing up to push Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing aside.
At that instant, Diao Chan explosively manifested considerable Inner Qi, and Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing were immediately embedded into the side wall.
“Fengxian!” Diao Chan embedded Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing into the wall and immediately plunged into Lyu Bu’s embrace, tears streaming down silently, without any other sound. In all these years, this was the weakest and most miserable Diao Chan had ever seen Lyu Bu.
Lyu Qiling, seeing her father covered in blood lying on the hospital bed, was also startled, her body swaying, almost collapsing. Zhao Yun quickly supported his wife.
“Ahem, ahem, Lady Lyu, are you trying to kill the two of us?” Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing struggled to pry themselves from the wall, fortunate that Diao Chan’s Inner Qi was merely ornamental. Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing were well-versed in health management, otherwise a typical doctor would certainly be dead from such an occurrence.
“Zhao Zilong!” Having been supported by Zhao Yun, Lyu Qiling suddenly realized, “Did you fight my father like that? He’s your father-in-law!”
“I didn’t, truly, Qiling, you must believe me!” Zhao Yun grasped Lyu Qiling’s hand intensely, gazing deeply at her, his eyes as deep as water. “I truly didn’t, you must believe in me, I certainly can’t defeat the Marquis Wenn!”
“But last time, you shattered my father’s avatar and even specifically told me!” Lyu Qiling, taken aback, suddenly blushed before reacting fiercely at Zhao Yun, “And look at the state my father is in, you say you didn’t fight him one-on-one. Did you gang up on my father? I can’t have a husband like you!”
Lyu Qiling angrily scolded Zhao Yun, then tearfully rushed towards her father.
“Don’t cry, don’t cry!” Zhao Yun hurriedly comforted Lyu Qiling, this time he was truly simply taking the blame, it was entirely not his doing.
[Ahhhhh, Sulinarari, right? Just you wait, making me take the blame, I’m going to slaughter you!] While comforting Lyu Qiling, Zhao Yun inwardly cursed the unknown Sulinarari.
“Don’t cry!” As Diao Chan’s tears fell onto Lyu Bu’s face, Lyu Bu, eyes closed, painfully raised his hand to reach for Diao Chan next to him, his blood-stained hand reaching for her, slowly opening his eyes and speaking.
“Fengxian!” In Diao Chan’s voice was delight amidst grievance, though she knew all of Lyu Bu’s engagements in war were perilous, every time before Lyu Bu returned cleanly, but this time, was it intentionally to scare her?
“Father!” Lyu Qiling’s voice clearly carried relief as she exclaimed, her father was fine. If it truly were her husband who injured her father like this, Lyu Qiling felt she’d struggle to face both her father and husband, but seeing them intertwined, it was alright.
“Marquis Wenn!” Zhao Yun’s relieved voice finally didn’t need to think about how to explain it.
“Marquis Wenn? Zilong, you’re so formidable!” Upon entering, Sun Ce immediately saw Lyu Bu covered in blood and Zhao Yun unscathed, instantly feeling uneasy. Wasn’t it agreed that Lyu Bu fought Zhao Yun while he fought Ma Chao, yet Lyu Bu here seemed defeated?
Everyone glared angrily at Sun Ce, even Lyu Bu couldn’t help but cast a glance at Sun Ce.
“Zhao Zilong, let’s put your matter aside for now; I’ll deal with you later. Help me up, I’m going to kill that guy!” Lyu Bu glared at Sun Ce, then shifted his focus to Zhao Yun and spoke coldly, though there was a hint of weakness in his voice.
“Marquis Wenn, do you know how severe your injury is?” Hua Tuo pressed a certain spot on Lyu Bu’s shoulder, causing Lyu Bu’s face to twist with pain, a sight that Zhao Yun clearly observed. Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing, such divine beings, were exceptionally skilled at handling patients.
Lyu Bu lay down expressionless, casting a fierce look at Hua Tuo. He remembered this old man; daring to treat him this way while he was weak, he would teach him a lesson sooner or later.
“If you don’t want your strength to diminish, it’s best to think of a way to get treated. Your body is like a sieve right now; I don’t know what you did, but it’s like you were blasted from the inside out into a sieve,” Hua Tuo calmly reassured him, completely unaffected by Lyu Bu’s fierce gaze.
Before Hua Tuo spoke, Lyu Bu habitually summoned his Inner Qi, and in that instant, his whole body felt like it was leaking. Normally, a little leakage wouldn’t matter, with Divine Will injected, even if his body was leaking all over, his Inner Qi would not escape.
Even more importantly, with Lyu Bu’s Inner Qi being tempered beyond the normal standard, even if his whole body leaked, it merely attracted Heaven and Earth Essence Qi, reducing the quality of his Inner Qi. Such matters were not an issue for Lyu Bu; as long as the will was strong enough, however much came could be refined, it wasn’t a problem!
However, the instant Lyu Bu tried doing that earlier, he felt as though countless steel needles pierced his brain. He forcibly refrained from crying out, but cold sweat mixed with blood seeped down his body.
“Your will is indeed impressively strong, surprising us. Such injuries put an Inner Qi Manifestation into a state where they might never awaken, yet you come to consciousness in such a short time. The last one, Zhou Youping, took two years,” Hua Tuo praised as he looked at Lyu Bu.
“How do we resolve this?” Lyu Bu asked Hua Tuo.
“You’ve awakened, so it’s much simpler now. Cooperating with our treatment, you can fully recover in just one year,” Zhang Zhongjing squeezed through and spoke.
Hua Tuo gave Zhang Zhongjing a look; is one year really enough?
It’s not like we can drag this on; haven’t you noticed he’s way stronger than Zhou Youping? I suspect he might not even need our treatment; just resting for a year may restore him, Zhang Zhongjing replied with a look, fearing it could turn into a dispute if dragged longer.
“A year?” Lyu Bu was taken aback; he had never had an injury that required more than a month’s treatment before. “Even with my strength, would I need a year of treatment?”
“Yes, a year!” Hua Tuo replied serenely.
“Ah, I understand,” Lyu Bu nodded and then looked at Zhao Yun with a certain gloomy smile, having discovered how to make a Breakthrough level expert lie down for a year.
At this moment, Zhao Yun shivered; my father-in-law found a way to make me lie down for a year, what should I do? Should I run quickly now?
“Help me up, I hate this place. Zhao Zilong, let’s go to your home,” Lyu Bu stood, his face still showing obvious pallor and weakness, but the arrogance between his brows left Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing unable to insist on keeping him.
“Well, I think I don’t need treatment either,” Sun Ce looked at Lyu Bu’s weakness, thought for a moment, and ran away.
“Neither do I,” Ma Chao also ran off, if Sun Ce doesn’t need it, then why do I?
After entering Zhao Yun’s home, just as Lyu Bu was striding in, his legs suddenly went weak, nearly collapsing. Diao Chan and Lyu Qiling hastily supported him; at this moment, Zhao Yun at the entrance understood why Chen Xi would say Lyu Bu was a lonely Wolf King.
“Notify your think tank; the forces you have arranged in Western Asia are absolutely no match for the opponent. They have six Breakthrough level experts, over forty Inner Qi Manifestations, at least two hundred thousand troops,” Lyu Bu suddenly turned, his face darkened as he spoke, leaving Zhao Yun stunned.
“General Zhao, prepare an outer residence in Ye City; we plan to settle here,” Diao Chan spoke slowly, understanding far more subtly than Lyu Bu that if they lived here, it would put considerable pressure on Ma Yunlu, especially after today’s incident, which promised much annoyance for Ma Yunlu.
“Alright, I’ll report it now,” Zhao Yun nodded.
“Don’t let me see you recently!” Lyu Bu suddenly turned back and swept a glance at Zhao Yun and said.
After watching Lyu Bu leave, Zhao Yun let out a long sigh of relief, with Ma Yunlu patting Zhao Yun, offering a smile, Zhao Yun strove to rally himself, nodding in agreement.
