Mythical Three Kingdoms
Chapter 2406: Letting You Mess Around
Chapter 2406: Chapter 2123: Letting You Mess Around
While Xuu You and others were contemplating how to take advantage of the Romans, the battle on the Island of Great Britain had achieved a strategic breakthrough; simply put, the Three Great Barbarians were all defeated.
The problem that had troubled the Romans for centuries was strategically overcome in this wave, as the Romans fought their way to the next-to-last homeland of the Germans and Celts.
From north of the Alps Mountains, they crossed the sea in one breath and reached Great Britain, finally defeating the united Three Great Barbarians in North Britain, which is in the north of England.
In the Battle of North Britain, the Three Great Barbarians indeed used all their Forbidden Moves. The Sun God worshipped by the Germans, the mythical heroes of the Celts, and the epic songs of the Slavic People—all three presented every technique they had.
Unfortunately, facing the large army led by the weakest yet strongest Military Spirit Legion Council Guard, with Severus personally controlling the war chariot, none of these had any effect.
The epic songs of the Slavic People greatly strengthened the soldiers’ power, with heroes sung about in myths and epics, representing courage, wisdom, and encountering wars and glory—all transformed into blessings bestowed upon the soldiers.
The mythical hero of the Celts was summoned to step out from mythology, reviving the tribal leader Gao Lin, who pillaged Rome and annihilated Rome City over five hundred years ago.
The Germans used rune-letter-engraved rings for sacrificial purposes, under massive blood sacrifice, to attach the mythical Sun God onto their strongest warrior.
However, this had no effect; the powerful amplification of the Slavic People’s epic songs faced against the Council Guard Military Spirit Legion, and nearly failed entirely.
As the weakest combat force of the Military Spirit Legion, the Council Guard even performed worse than Xiliang Iron Cavalry with Dual Talents, but as an auxiliary Military Spirit Legion, its terrifying auxiliary abilities were enough to make all legions collapse. This is also the reason Hun People were determined to fight against the Council Guard Military Spirit Legion during the Parthia-Rome War over a decade ago.
As a hereditary Military Spirit Legion, the Hun Guards’ greatest significance is for large scale transmission of Dual Talent Elite Troops, though their combat power is inherently weaker; yet, regardless of how weak, they are still a Military Spirit Legion.
Just like the Romans’ question, how many resources did the Parthians expend to invite three Military Spirit Legions? We Romans will offer double.
How many resources did the Parthians spend at that time to persuade the Hun People’s Military Spirit Legion to fight the Roman Parliament Guard desperately?
Actually, in that battle, the Hun People had no choice; without attacking the Roman Parliament Guard, they couldn’t fight the battle at all.
Since the Roman Parliament Guard is a special type of Military Spirit Legion akin to Weii Qing’s trusted aide, its significance lies not in its combat power but rather the command and support during Large Army battles.
The Hun People have deeply remembered Weii Qing, which allowed them to identify the issue when the Roman Parliament Guard appeared, otherwise, the Hun People would definitely be defeated.
Back then, Weii Qing’s Personal Guard Corps had combat power only at the Dual Talent level, but its support effects were extremely frightening. For every additional general able to skillfully command a thousand soldiers, our army’s combat power was increased by approximately four percent; allied troops increased by two percent.
Generally, Weii Qing would take an army of one hundred thousand, resulting in main corps combat power being four hundred percent, and allied troops at two hundred percent. More importantly, this effect also applies to Military Spirit Legions, so during Large Army battles, Weii Qing would declare, “Bow down and sing submission.”
The Roman Parliament Guard similarly belongs to the special attribute Military Spirit Legion for Large Army battles. Although the Hun People forcibly exploded the Roman Parliament Guard that time, not daring to wait for them to manifest effects, the Hun People had already speculated on their general support scale.
This is also why the Hun People later became less willing to provoke the Romans, because winning a small corps battle yields few benefits, whereas in Large Army battles, if the Roman Parliament opens up, then it’s over.
Actually, the Hun People didn’t estimate wrong; the Roman Parliament Guard’s support is indeed very powerful, and like other supporting Military Spirit Legions, it belongs to the larger the scale, the more people involved, the stronger the support effect for our army.
For every additional corps of equivalent level to the Parliament Guard, each corps basically receives a support of five percent multiplied by the number of same-level corps; for every additional lower level corps, each corps receives support equal to ten percent multiplied by the number of lower level corps, plus higher level support.
Simply put, if the Roman Parliament Guard leads a Military Spirit Legion and a Three Talents, these three receive approximately fifteen percent support each; with five Dual Talents, each of the five Dual Talents receives sixty-five percent support; and leading eleven Single Talent Elite Legions, each Single Talent Elite Legion receives one hundred seventy-five percent support.
Facing such an excessive effect, the epic songs of the Slavic People failed to demonstrate their intended results, and they were ruthlessly defeated by the Roman Parliament Guard leading a bunch of underlings.
This is also why, clearly a Military Spirit Legion, yet not counted in the sequence, because compared to the abilities of the Council Guard, other legions really need to act as subordinates to receive benefits.
As for the Celtic People’s completely self-destructive behavior, the resurrected Gao Lin was directly dismembered into fragments by Sulinarari with bare hands.
Originally, Severus intended to forgive the Celtic People’s guilt, preparing to completely crush the Three Great Barbarians of Europe in this battle, and then obtain their loyalty to continue strengthening the Romans’ power.
However, facing the Celtic People’s heedless resurrection of Gao Lin, the great enemy who once captured the Roman Capital, annihilated those who remained within Rome City, not even Severus could disregard the Romans’ sentiments.
Over a hundred Senate Elders were killed in Rome City, their bones were scattered to the wind after their slaughter, then the Celts looted within Rome City before finally setting it ablaze, leaving the Romans with ruins, and subsequently began besieging the surviving Romans on Capitoline Hill for seven months, the Romans on the hill were on the brink of cannibalism.
When both parties eventually negotiated peace, the Romans compensated Gao Lin with a thousand pounds of gold and ceded the northern plains of Rome to him; this was Gao Lin’s doing.
Having accomplished such monumental tasks, Gao Lin was lucky enough not to suffer retaliation, retiring safely from the position of Great Chieftain among the Celts, dying of old age.
The Romans are endlessly resentful of this, but had no way out, and by the time they were capable of revenge, Gao Lin had long since passed.
By the time Caesar was exterminating the Celts in the Gallic Wars, Gao Lin’s remains were estimated to have been near fossilized; in any case, the Romans hated that guy the most, yet the vengeance was never enacted.
In the end, this wave saw Gao Lin summoned from mythology, resurrected, leaving Romans and the entire realm stunned, “Oh my, is this even possible?”
Given such possibilities, if you are a hero summoned from mythology, you essentially identify as Gao Lin himself; in that instant, all Romans were both furious and excited.
Sulinarari personally charged forward, dismembered Gao Lin, and the six thousand elite Celts, save only a few hundred who escaped, were all cut down, then within the Celtic Lake of Fairies, the rest were ground to dust, with the ashes used to fill the Lake of Fairies!
In such matters, Severus couldn’t prevent this, Roman patriotism is exceedingly strong, summoning Gao Lin wasn’t providing the Celts dreadfully powerful strength, nor did it awe the Romans, instead it incited Roman berserk rage.
Regarding the Germans, along with the Slavic People, they stood no chance against the ferocious Romans, and the Sun God, well, with Sulinarari intervening, it was settled altogether.
Simultaneously confronting two Breakthrough Level masters, dodging the Germanic Sun God, dismembering Gao Lin, effortlessly traversing through attacks from deities and epic heroes, dismantling Gao Lin into pieces until his demise, and under the siege of two masters, adorned in white silk from the Central Plains, Sulinarari remained unstained.
Even after casually defeating the Breakthrough Level Epic hero Gao Lin, Sulinarari’s hairstyle and clothes remained perfectly unruffled.
“Surrender,” Sulinarari, carrying a knight’s long spear, did not glance at Gao Lin, who had already shattered to pieces and fallen but calmly looked at the formidable Germanic master possessed by the mythological Sun God.
The opponent himself was already a Breakthrough Level master, and upon receiving the Sun God’s possession, grew fearsomely strong, but it mattered not; no one had ever defeated him, Rome’s Supreme Being, even when besieged by five or six Breakthrough Level masters, he remained unbeaten, such strength nearly held no substantial meaning.
“Why are you so strong!” The Sun God looked manically at Sulinarari.
“No, it is you who are too weak,” Sulinarari said in a tone of disillusionment, “Submission or death, possessing the demi-god strength from being inhabited, a powerful body can unleash all inner Qi, yet you are truly weak.”
“Go to hell!” The Sun God erupted frantically with his strength, combining refined realm breaker with extreme inner Qi propelled to the limit, causing all to stare.
Sulinarari, carrying a knight’s long spear, gently shook his head, facing the formidable attacks of the Sun God, merely taking leisurely steps past the Sun God like a casual stroll, looking slow yet rapid, casually crossing past without further glancing at the Germanic Sun God.
“I’ve said it, submission or death.” Sulinarari slowly walked back to the main camp, and at this time, the Sun God above the sky suddenly fell, while the previously near-collapse Germanic troops completely scattered following the Sun God’s descent.
“You remain as strong as ever! Does anyone in this world truly have a rival capable of defeating you?” Severus’s close guard officer Aristonos looked at Sulinarari, who had just slain two Breakthrough Level military generals, yet not a single speck of bloodstained on him, and spoke with an expression of conflict.
