Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 3094 - 3094: The End of Time (4)

Nian Shi’s attacks were powerful enough to unmake creation, but they were inefficient, wasteful, and ultimately, useless against Yun Lintian’s perfect understanding and control.

“STAND STILL AND DIE!” Nian Shi screamed, his frustration mounting with each failed attack. He poured more and more power into his assaults, the energy radiating from him scorching the fabric of space-time, but Yun Lintian remained an elusive, untouchable figure of calm.

The more Nian Shi raged, the clearer the truth became, even to him. He was a Creator in power level only. He had the strength, but he lacked the essence, the fundamental understanding that Yun Lintian possessed. He was a giant with the strength to lift mountains but without the coordination to throw a punch properly.

At the peak of Nian Shi’s frenzied assault, Yun Lintian finally looked up. His gaze met Nian Shi’s mad, silver eyes. There was no anger in Yun Lintian’s expression, only a profound, pitying certainty.

“You will never be the Creator,” Yun Lintian said, his voice calm, cutting through the chaos of the battle like a knife. “That is your fate. It is futile to defy a destiny written into your very nature.”

The words were not shouted, but they struck Nian Shi with the force of a supernova. They were not an insult based on emotion; they were a statement of cosmic fact. And that made them infinitely more damaging.

The last vestiges of Nian Shi’s sanity shattered.

“MY FATE?!” he shrieked, his voice cracking with hysterical fury. “I DEFY FATE! I AM FATE! I WILL REWRITE EVERYTHING!”

He completely abandoned any pretense of strategy. He held nothing back. He burned his life force, his soul essence, everything, in a final, desperate bid to crush the man who dared to speak such truths. The Blade of Eternity became a blur of destructive light, the Hourglass spun wildly, distorting time into a chaotic mess around them.

But it was the fury of a doomed man.

It was at this moment that Yun Lintian stopped merely defending.

He took a step forward. It was a simple step, but it carried the weight of the entire World Tree. The chaotic temporal distortions around him smoothed out, forced into order by his presence.

He raised the God Slaying Sword and met the next berserk swing of the Blade of Eternity.

CLANG!

The sound was clean and sharp. This time, Nian Shi’s blade did not slide past. It was stopped cold. The overwhelming force behind it simply… vanished, absorbed and neutralized by Yun Lintian’s perfect balance.

Nian Shi’s eyes widened in shock.

Yun Lintian pressed forward. Another step. Another parry, this one sending a jarring tremor up Nian Shi’s arm.

“You have power,” Yun Lintian said, his voice now cold, each word a hammer blow to Nian Shi’s crumbling psyche. “But power without understanding is noise. It is emptiness.”

He took another step, and now it was he who was attacking. His sword moves were not flashy, but they were inexorable. A thrust that Nian Shi barely dodged. A slash that forced him to stumble back.

“You schemed for eons,” Yun Lintian continued, his advance unrelenting. “You betrayed, you murdered, you sacrificed countless lives. You thought cunning and cruelty were the path to the throne.”

He deflected a panicked swing from Nian Shi with contemptuous ease. “But you are weak. Not in power, but in spirit. You are a hollow shell, a collection of stolen moments and accumulated endings. There is no core to you. No heart. No purpose beyond your own ambition.”

With each sentence, Yun Lintian pressed harder. His attacks came faster, more precise. Nian Shi was forced into a desperate, panicked defense, his Creator-level power rendered clumsy and ineffective.

“You are stupid,” Yun Lintian stated, the final, ultimate insult. “You had all the time in the universe, and you learned nothing. You saw the beauty of creation and only thought of how to own it. You felt the love of others and only thought of how to exploit it.”

A final, devastating blow from the God Slaying Sword smashed against the Blade of Eternity. The sound was a crack of breaking destiny.

“YOU WILL NEVER BE THE RULER OF THE NEW WORLD!”

Nian Shi was thrown backward, his arms numb, his divine weapon humming in protest. He stared at Yun Lintian, who stood before him, not even breathing heavily.

The truth of those words, delivered with such cold, absolute finality, broke him. His ambition, his pride, his very reason for existing—all of it was being systematically crushed to dust before his eyes.

The pain of this defeat was far worse than any physical injury. He was being unmade not just as a god, but as a concept.

The humiliation was a poison more potent than any Yun Lintian’s sword could deliver. It seeped into the core of Nian Shi’s being, corroding the last vestiges of his godly composure.

The cold, factual pronouncement—”You will never be the ruler of the new world”—echoed in his mind, not as an insult, but as a verdict. And it was a verdict he would not accept.

The humiliation curdled, transforming into a rage so pure and absolute it burned away all reason.

“NEVER?!” Nian Shi shrieked, his voice a raw, tearing sound. “I WILL SHOW YOU WHO WILL RULE! I WILL BECOME THE RULER EVEN IF I HAVE TO DEVOUR THE SOURCE ITSELF!”

In his desperation, he reached into the deepest recess of his spatial treasure, the one he had guarded most fiercely, the one thing he had never dared to use. A light emerged, so soft and gentle it seemed out of place in the battlefield of devastation. Updates are released by novel-fire.net

It was a single, floating spark. It looked insignificant, but the moment it appeared, the entire universe seemed to take a breath. A wave of pure, unadulterated Creation energy radiated from it, so potent and fundamental that it momentarily eclipsed even Yin’s vast aura of Uncreation.

This was the Spark of Chaos—the very source from which the original Creator had been born, the primordial seed of all existence. Nian Shi had claimed it after her fall, but had never dared to touch it, knowing its power would obliterate any being not born to wield it.

But now, he had no choice. It was all or nothing. A final, suicidal gamble.

“Yun Lintian’s body… his memories… I understand it now! I can do it!” he madly rationalized. His brief possession had given him a glimpse, a stolen blueprint of how to handle such power. It was a flimsy shield against certain doom, but it was all he had.

With a scream that was equal parts agony and defiance, he slammed the Spark of Chaos directly into his own chest.

BANG!
