Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 2820 - 2820: Return Of The King (1)

Moments later.

Yun Lintian stood at the edge of the Netherworld, gazing into the abyss.

The Primal Chaos Wall had fallen.

The Realm of Chaos had invaded.

And his people—his wives—were fighting a war he hadn’t been there to stop.

A cold fury settled in his chest.

But his mind was clear.

He turned to Si Junyi. “I’m going back.”

Si Junyi observed him with those crimson Yama King eyes, his expression unreadable.

“You’ve mastered the power,” he said slowly, “but don’t mistake that for victory.”

Yun Lintian turned, his mismatched eyes—one void-black, one emerald-green—locking onto Si Junyi. “Meaning?”

Si Junyi exhaled, his voice colder than the Netherworld’s winds. “The God of Time has existed since the dawn of creation. You? Even counting all your years in time-accelerated formations, you’re barely a thousand years old.”

A pause. Then—

“He has spent eons preparing for this.”

Yun Lintian’s gaze didn’t waver. “And?”

Si Junyi’s lips thinned. “And he has laid traps you can’t even comprehend. The moment you step onto that battlefield, he will exploit your weaknesses.”

A flicker of irritation crossed Yun Lintian’s face. “I’m not some reckless child.”

“No,” Si Junyi agreed, “but you are human. And humans have emotions.”

His crimson eyes bore into Yun Lintian’s. “He will target your women. He will make you choose between saving them and saving the world. And if you falter even for a second—”

A blade of black energy materialized in Si Junyi’s hand, its edge humming with death. “—he will carve out your heart while you’re still breathing.”

Silence.

The Netherworld itself seemed to hold its breath.

Then—

Yun Lintian chuckled.

It wasn’t a sound of amusement. It was the low, dangerous rumble of a Primordial God acknowledging a threat.

“Noted.”

Si Junyi studied him for a long moment before nodding. “Good.”

He turned, his Yama King robes flaring as he gestured toward the Netherworld’s army—countless ghostly soldiers standing at attention. “I may no longer hold the Death God’s authority, but the Netherworld’s forces are still mine to command.”

His voice turned grim. “I’ll hold the rear. You focus on not dying.”

Yun Lintian smiled. “How reassuring.”

With that, he turned around.

One step.

Space itself screamed as reality bent to his will.

But before he crossed—

“Yun Lintian.”

Si Junyi’s voice, uncharacteristically solemn, gave him pause.

“Remember—the moment you let anger control you, you lose.”

Yun Lintian didn’t look back.

But his fingers curled into fists.

“I know.”

Then—

He stepped forward.

And the Netherworld vanished behind him.

***

Nine Firmament City – War Council.

The grand hall was in chaos.

Yun Qianxue stood before the shattered war map, her frost aura flickering with barely restrained fury. Reports flooded in from all fronts—entire realms had fallen, swallowed by the Realm of Chaos’ advance.

Yue Yun slammed her Moon Staff against the ground, silencing the clamor. “Enough! We need—”

The air ripped.

Every weapon in the room was drawn in an instant as space convulsed—

Then stilled.

A figure stepped forth.

Snow-white hair. Mismatched eyes radiating primordial power. An aura so dense it made the air itself tremble.

For a heartbeat, no one moved.

Then—

“Lintian!”

Yang Ningchang’s bow clattered to the floor.

Yun Qianxue’s breath caught.

Hongyue, leaning against a pillar, smiled faintly. “Took you long enough.”

Yun Lintian’s gaze swept over them—counting, ensuring. His voice, when he spoke, was deceptively calm.

“Where is Qingxuan?”

The room went deathly silent.

Yun Qianxue took a deep breath and said. “The Haven. Kai Xuan took her. It’s a trap—”

“I know.”

Yun Lintian’s right eye blazed with emerald fire.

His left eye darkened—a void where even light feared to tread.

“Gather everyone.”

He turned toward the shattered windows, where the crimson-stained horizon loomed.

“We end this war today.”

The moment Yun Lintian’s words fell, the atmosphere in the war council chamber shifted. The despair that had been weighing on everyone’s shoulders lightened slightly—their Sect Master had returned. And he was no longer the man who had left six months ago.

“Meilan,” Yun Lintian called, his voice calm but carrying undeniable authority.

The shadowy figure of Yun Meilan materialized from the darkness, her black veil fluttering slightly.

“Gather all battlefield intelligence with Yun Yi. I need to know which fronts require immediate reinforcement.” His mismatched eyes gleamed. “And maintain constant spiritual connection with me.”

Yun Meilan bowed slightly before vanishing into the shadows once more.

Lynn stepped forward. “Lintian, the situation is worse than you think. The Chaos Knights have—”

“I know.” Yun Lintian cut her off gently. “But right now, stabilizing the collapsing fronts takes priority.”

“Boss, do you need my help?” Lei Hao stepped forward. His appearance could be described as messy as he had just returned from the battlefield.

Yun Lintian looked at him and said. “Take a good rest. Leave it to me.”

“But Boss…”

Before anyone could respond, Yun Meilan’s voice echoed in Yun Lintian’s mind through their spiritual connection:

“Northern Expanse, Frostbite Canyon. Three General-class Shadow Demons leading a horde of fifty thousand. Our forces are being overrun.”

Without hesitation, Yun Lintian’s figure blurred—

And disappeared.

***

Frostbite Canyon – Northern Expanse.

The battlefield was a scene of utter carnage.

The Misty Cloud Sect disciples, led by Yun Chan, had formed a desperate defensive formation. Their white robes were stained with blood, their sword formations barely holding against the endless tide of Chaos creatures.

Yun Chan coughed blood as she parried a Shadow Demon’s claw, her arms trembling from exhaustion. “Hold the line! If this canyon falls—”

A sudden pressure descended upon the battlefield.

The air itself seemed to solidify.

Then—

BOOM!

Space tore open, and Yun Lintian stepped forth.

Every cultivator on the battlefield froze—allies and enemies alike. The Shadow Demons hissed, their hollow eyes locking onto the new arrival with instinctive fear.

Yun Lintian didn’t speak.

He simply raised his hand—

And the God Slaying Sword materialized in his grip, its blade humming with primordial power.

With one casual swing—

A crescent of black-and-white energy erupted forth.

The world seemed to hold its breath as the energy wave expanded, swallowing everything in its path. The Shadow Demons didn’t even have time to scream before disintegrating into nothingness. The General-class fiends tried to flee—but the energy wave caught them effortlessly, reducing their corrupted forms to dust.

The entire Chaos horde—wiped out in an instant.

Yun Chan’s usual cold expression turned to shock. “H-Headmaster…?”

But Yun Lintian was already gone, leaving everyone dumbfounded…
