Chapter 497: Consolidated
Chapter 497: Consolidated
Violet lightning erupted around Kyrian, illuminating his body with an electric glow.
His hair instantly stood on end, every strand charged with static energy. Hundreds of tiny bolts of lightning danced around his body like a living suit of armor.
His violet eyes became even brighter, emitting a radiance that seemed capable of piercing through darkness itself.
The pressure he released increased explosively. The air around him vibrated with pure energy, creating visible ripples that spread throughout the arena.
At the very last instant, he took only a single step.
The sword passed through the exact spot where he had been a moment earlier. The icy blade sliced through empty air, releasing a wave of freezing cold that froze an empty section of the arena.
Without touching him.
Wu Fan frowned, his confidence shaken for the first time.
’Fast,’ he thought in surprise.
’Far too fast.’
He immediately twisted his body, using the momentum to unleash another strike. The sword swept through the air in a horizontal arc, creating a wall of ice that surged toward Kyrian.
He unleashed another strike. Then another. Then another.
The sword transformed into dozens of afterimages. Every movement created multiple copies of the blade, a whirlwind of steel and ice that seemed to completely surround Kyrian.
Blades of ice crossed the entire arena, cutting through the air from every direction. Each attack was faster than the last, more powerful than the one before.
Kyrian merely dodged.
One step to the left. Then to the right. Sometimes he tilted his neck slightly, allowing a blade to pass within millimeters of his skin. Other times he rotated his body by only a few centimeters, just enough to avoid the strike.
He seemed to dance through the attacks. Every dodge was perfect, every movement calculated with millimeter precision. Not a single motion was wasted, not a single ounce of energy was spent unnecessarily.
Five minutes passed.
The pace of the battle remained intense, yet Kyrian stayed completely unperturbed. His body moved with a fluidity that seemed supernatural, evading every attack with an ease that bordered on insulting.
Wu Fan’s breathing grew heavier. The effort required to maintain that relentless barrage of attacks was beginning to weigh on him. Sweat covered his forehead, and his muscles had begun to tremble slightly.
Kyrian remained exactly as he had been before. His breathing was calm, and his body relaxed. He had not launched a single attack.
"Why isn’t he fighting back?" one spectator asked in confusion.
"He’s only dodging!"
"Can he predict every attack?" another replied in disbelief.
"That’s impossible!"
"What unbelievable speed..." a woman murmured, her eyes wide.
"I’ve never seen anything like it at the same cultivation level."
Even Sun Luguo smiled in satisfaction, slowly nodding his head.
"Good brat..." he murmured, his voice filled with pride.
"He’s using this fight to train."
Inside Kyrian’s body...
The Third Mirrored Eye vibrated continuously.
The immense flow of Qi repeatedly passed through the third core, each circulation refining its structure and strengthening its connection to the other dantians. The tiny imperfections that still remained were gradually smoothing out, polished by constant use.
Every circulation strengthened its structure. Every use made the new dantian more stable, more deeply integrated into his body’s energy system.
’A little longer...’ Kyrian thought calmly, his eyes following Wu Fan’s movements.
’I need just a few more minutes.’
Wu Fan roared.
His frustration finally exploded. His Qi erupted once more, a wave of icy energy sweeping across the entire arena.
Hundreds of ice spikes burst from the ground, all aimed at Kyrian. Frozen blades rained down from the sky, creating a storm of death. Waves of freezing cold tried to restrict his movements, attempting to freeze his feet to the ground.
The attack was astonishing, a complete display of Wu Fan’s power.
Even so... nothing touched him.
Kyrian moved between the spikes like a ghost, his figure becoming nothing more than a blur of violet light. Every step was precise, every dodge flawless.
It was like trying to strike a bolt of lightning.
Several more minutes passed.
Wu Fan’s assault finally slowed, his energy exhausted by the extreme exertion. He panted heavily, his shoulders rising and falling as he struggled to catch his breath.
Then... Kyrian finally stopped.
For the first time since the battle had begun, he stood perfectly still. His feet were firmly planted on the ground, his body upright.
Wu Fan smiled, interpreting it as a sign of surrender.
"Finally gave up running?" he asked, his voice still filled with confidence.
Kyrian completely ignored the provocation.
He sensed the inside of his own body. The Third Mirrored Eye was vibrating in an entirely different way now, no longer with the irregular tremors from before, but with a steady, rhythmic pulse.
Stable. Perfect. Consolidated.
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
’That’s enough.’
He slowly raised his right hand.
Then he left.
Qi began to emerge.
At first, slowly, like a rising tide.
Then... like a flood.
The two ocular cores spun at their maximum speed, their energies merging into a vortex of power. The Third Mirrored Eye responded immediately, channeling the entire flow through its newly consolidated structure.
An enormous amount of lightning Qi erupted from his body.
’BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!’
The sky darkened. Black clouds formed above the arena, swirling into a vortex that seemed to devour all the daylight.
The entire arena was consumed by violet lightning.
Hundreds. Then thousands. Bolts descended from the heavens and rose from the earth, creating a storm of electricity that completely engulfed the platform.
There was not a single empty space. Every inch of the arena transformed into an ocean of electricity, a sea of violet light shining with blinding intensity.
The spectators’ hair instantly stood on end despite the protective formations. The air was filled with the sharp, metallic scent of ozone that stung their nostrils.
Wu Fan’s eyes widened completely.
’There’s... nowhere to run...’ That was his final thought before the impact.
The next instant... every bolt of electricity struck simultaneously.
The entire arena exploded with violet light.
’BOOOOOOOOOOM!!’
The spiritual barrier surrounding the arena shook violently, its formations struggling to contain the overwhelming energy. Tiny cracks appeared across the surface of the barrier, signs that the pressure was nearly more than it could withstand.
Stone cracked apart. The ground was completely charred, with parts of the stone melting from the heat. The air vibrated with lingering warmth as shockwaves echoed through the stands.
When the light finally faded...
Wu Fan remained kneeling at the center of the platform.
His sword had slipped from his hand, landing several meters away. His entire body trembled uncontrollably, tiny currents of electricity still crawling across his skin. His clothes were burned in several places, and smoke rose from his body.
Kyrian remained exactly where he had been. He had not even taken a single step.
Inside his body... the Third Mirrored Eye had finally stabilized completely.
The flow of Qi had become perfect. Natural. Without the slightest resistance.
Kyrian took a slow breath, feeling the satisfaction of accomplishing his objective.
The purpose of that battle had been fulfilled. The Third Mirrored Eye could once again break through to the next stages.
He calmly looked at Wu Fan. The man had been defeated, incapable of continuing.
Then he took a single step forward.
The battle... was over.
