Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory

Chapter 1450 When Every Error Matches

Lunethar had already adapted to this power.

It didn't slow down. With every white-eye around it, it charged straight into the lightning pillar, ready to endure the attack long enough to reach Ethan and end the fight as quickly as possible.

But this time, the lightning wasn't just an attack.

The moment the pillar descended, Ethan extended both hands and slowly brought them together.

The white-eyes scattered around Lunethar abruptly changed direction.

Instead of continuing toward Ethan, they converged on Lunethar from every side, pressing against its body one after another. The outer eyes pushed the inner ones closer until they formed an airtight white prison, trapping Lunethar at the center of the lightning pillar.

At first, Lunethar assumed the eyes were protecting it.

It immediately ordered them to disperse, but not a single eye obeyed. Even its original eight large eyes turned pure white in the lightning, their pupils all staring inward at its body.

For the first time, Lunethar's voice changed.

"What did you do?"

Ethan hovered outside the lightning pillar, looking genuinely confused.

"I didn't do anything."

He paused, then added, "I only changed one little thing."

One little thing?

That so-called little thing had altered every eye and even severed Lunethar's control over them.

How could that possibly be called little?

Ethan brought his hands closer together, and the white lightning pillar intensified. A massive bolt punched through the prison of eyes and struck Lunethar head-on. Electrical arcs burrowed into its body, bringing excruciating pain, while frigid energy spread deeper through every connection.

The surrounding white-eyes gradually returned to their original colors.

A spark of hope rose in Lunethar. It tried to regain control of the swarm, only to discover that its consciousness could no longer leave its body.

And it wasn't just the eyes.

Its hands and head no longer obeyed its commands either.

Ethan had disappeared from outside the lightning pillar.

The next moment, his familiar voice sounded directly inside Lunethar's mind.

"How does it feel to have someone else control you?"

The voice came from the deepest part of its consciousness. There was no distance between them.

"Want to make things a little more exciting?"

Lunethar's soul trembled violently.

Ethan was inside its body.

But when had he gotten in?

The last small eye to return flashed through Lunethar's memory. It had flown more slowly than the others, wobbling before it entered, and some of its energy had clearly been missing.

Ethan had tampered with it back then.

For the first time, Lunethar's fear overwhelmed its anger.

"Ethan! What do you want?"

Its voice raced through its mind, the words coming faster and faster.

"I can give you anything! Whatever you want, I'll give it to you. What about eternal life? Don't you want to live forever? I can—"

Lunethar screamed.

Inside its body, Ethan stood among a complex network of tissue, gripping a massive heart with one hand. Every beat sent out a pulse of blue energy, but whenever that energy approached him, white lightning tore it apart.

Ethan was tired of listening.

While suppressing the heart, he began rewriting Lunethar's genetic information. He pulled apart the double helices floating around him, rearranged them, then forced the new data back into the surrounding body.

But Lunethar's regenerative ability far exceeded his expectations.

Whenever a genetic sequence developed an abnormality, the body's repair system quickly deleted it, copied the original information, and rebuilt a complete strand.

The entire process, from detecting the error to repairing it, took less than five seconds.

Anyone else might have been helpless.

Ethan studied the discarded genetic strands, and his furrowed brow slowly relaxed.

The body considered abnormal genes to be errors.

So he would make every gene share the same error.

Once thousands upon thousands of genetic strands became identical, leaving only the final so-called correct strand isolated among them—

Which one would be right, and which one would be wrong?

Ethan raised his other hand.

The eyes floating outside Lunethar's body all turned toward it, then returned to their sockets one by one. Each carried rewritten genetic information, flooding the body with faulty data and attacking Lunethar's repair system from every direction.

The first correct strand was surrounded.

The second was overwritten.

More and more genetic chains changed their structure, and Lunethar's body began to lose its original form.

Meanwhile, everyone outside was getting bored.

They were still trapped in a pitch-black space with only a white sphere of light floating at its center. The sphere kept flashing, but they couldn't see Ethan or Lunethar, and there wasn't a single creature around for them to interact with.

They were preparing to break out using their own methods when Andona detected an unfamiliar energy fluctuation.

She looked into the distance.

Something alive had appeared in the darkness.

Creatures unique to this space were being born.

The first to emerge was a monster covered in eyes. It had no normal head, only constantly turning pupils spread across its entire body. More of its kind soon appeared from every direction. Some unfurled their bodies and flew upward, some crawled along the ground, while others ran toward the group on twisted limbs.

They certainly looked strange.

But no one cared.

Any monster that relieved their boredom was a good monster.

Andona raised her golden blade and flew above the group, claiming the entire sky as her attack zone. Ataneya spread her twenty-four fox tails and prepared to face the army surging across the ground by herself.

Unfortunately, there were only so many monsters, while everyone present was far too eager to fight.

Golden sword light swept down from above, cutting apart the first row of flying monsters on the spot. Ataneya's tails swept across the ground as infernal energy exploded from their tips, hurling the charging monsters into the air.

The others launched their attacks in quick succession.

This wasn't a battle.

It was a one-sided cleanup.

The Emerald Castle army stood at the very rear, watching the monsters ahead disappear so quickly that they never got a chance to join in. Every last grunt had already been claimed. All they could do was keep hold of their weapons and wait.

Just as their morale was about to hit rock bottom, several cracks split open in the ground behind them.

Tentacles pushed up through the soil and swayed toward the Emerald Castle formation.

Every soldier's eyes lit up.

A gift from heaven!

These tentacles might not compare to the eye monsters up front, but at least they were enemies. The formation deployed at once, weapons and energy turning toward the tentacles as all the pent-up fighting spirit they'd had nowhere to spend finally erupted.

The Emerald Castle army charged forward, morale soaring.
