Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory
Chapter 1356: The Orb He Couldn’t Refuse
Ethan patted Namyanna on the shoulder, then turned and sped toward the surface.
Namyanna remained there for a long time.
Only after the last spectral fish disappeared did she tighten her grip on her trident and look up.
Above the water, the resurrected Thalvyr was still blood-red from head to toe.
Judging by how smoothly he had rebuilt his body, this clearly wasn’t his first death. But it was now impossible to tell who—or what—was controlling that body.
Ethan was the first to burst from the sea.
Water exploded behind him as he raised both hands and fired two energy orbs in quick succession. White light streaked through the air, closing in on Thalvyr from both sides.
Ethan landed on what remained of the ice and looked up to see the result.
Thalvyr didn’t dodge.
He silently counted the people below, then spread his arms and welcomed the two orbs.
The white energy didn’t explode when it struck him. Instead, it seeped through his blood-red scales and into his body. The cool sensation spread through him, suppressing the chaotic souls still fighting for control.
Thalvyr closed his eyes in bliss.
So cool.
So comfortable.
The last person arrived.
Namyanna burst from the sea, spun her trident halfway around, and hurled it at Thalvyr.
Its point cut through the lingering spray and shot straight for his chest.
Still savoring the cool energy, Thalvyr raised an arm. His hand transformed into a scale-covered dragon claw, and the broad palm struck the trident from the side.
Clang!
The trident changed direction and flew back toward Namyanna. She caught the shaft, but her feet still skidded across the surface for some distance before she managed to bleed off its momentum.
Thalvyr opened his eyes.
"Everyone’s here?"
His gaze swept over the group gathered on the ice, and a smile slowly spread across his face.
"Then it’s time to feast!"
He spread his arms and thrust out his chest.
Souls began pouring from his mouth.
There were only one or two at first, but they were soon flooding out like a tide. Countless spirits of sea creatures filled the sky, trailing long white streaks as they rushed toward the group.
Namyanna stared at Thalvyr in disgust.
Every one of those souls belonged to an ocean creature. Fish, mollusks, and countless unidentifiable shapes were mixed among them. Their numbers far exceeded the total population that a single sea could ever hold.
Now there was no question what Thalvyr’s "food supply" had contained.
Namyanna’s hand trembled around her trident.
She forced down her unease. Seawater rose beneath her feet, gently lifting her into the air.
Her trident floated in front of her and began spinning at high speed.
A freezing wind gathered overhead.
The first phantom trident appeared beside her, followed by a second, then a third. More and more spread out around her, every blade aimed at Thalvyr high above.
Watching from the ice, Ethan knew there was no way he could interfere with the attack Namyanna was preparing.
All he could do was keep his distance and continue hurling energy orbs.
But Thalvyr paid no attention to Namyanna rising into the sky. He opened his arms eagerly and welcomed Ethan’s energy orbs one after another.
With every orb he absorbed, his expression grew more relaxed.
Ethan’s temper flared.
So you like energy balls, huh?
He quietly pulled Kaelira and Seraphina together and lowered his voice.
"You get it, right? We can’t let this slide. Let’s do it."
They understood immediately.
Each of them drew on "a little" of their power and fed it into the white lightning in Ethan’s hands. Different energies flowed inward along the branching arcs, gradually dyeing the pale electricity pink.
Ethan still didn’t think it was enough.
He slipped over to Catheryn and borrowed some dark energy from her. Only after blending that into the orb did he return to his position.
Thalvyr was still waiting in the sky.
He hadn’t even turned his head. His eyes remained fixed on the energy orb they had created together.
The orb had turned completely pink. It wobbled gently, perfectly round and incredibly appetizing.
Holding it aloft, Ethan paced back and forth in front of Thalvyr.
The softer it looked on the outside, the more unstable the power hidden within became. Beneath the pink glow, different energies pressed against one another. Every tremor sent vibrations through the ice below.
But Thalvyr only saw its round shape.
He genuinely loved energy orbs like this.
Once Ethan was certain Thalvyr couldn’t tear his eyes away, he abruptly thrust both hands upward.
The enormous pink orb rose into the sky.
Thalvyr’s gaze followed it without wavering. The sea split open, and a river of blood surged up from below. It caught the pink orb and carried it steadily toward him.
Meanwhile, Namyanna continued to rise.
The phantom tridents surrounding her began to change. Their transparent outlines gradually solidified as golden patterns emerged along their shafts. Their sharp points gleamed with dazzling gold through the icy mist.
A bone-chilling wind spun above her.
The temperature dropped with every revolution. Water vapor rose from the sea, drawn into the center of the freezing current, where it compressed and froze.
A massive sphere of ice gradually took shape above Namyanna.
Extreme cold radiated from within it, slowing even the surrounding air. Tiny ice crystals hung suspended in the sky while the golden tridents pierced through the frozen mist, all locked onto Thalvyr in the distance.
Without warning, Namyanna opened her eyes.
Ice-blue light blazed in their depths. The long-gathering cold front above her broke free and poured down through the sky, freezing every trace of moisture in its path.
The golden tridents surrounding her moved at the same instant.
One after another, they tore through the icy mist and shot toward Thalvyr from every direction. Their points flashed between the ice crystals, leaving dense trails of gold that sealed off every possible escape.
The cold front descended from above.
Ice crystals filled the space between.
Golden tridents closed in from all sides.
The three forces wove together into a falling canopy. Before it even reached the sea, its immense pressure flattened the nearby waves.
Namyanna raised her trident and pointed it straight at Thalvyr.
"Feel the power of Golden Frost Skyfall!"
Thalvyr finally looked away from the pink energy orb.
The pressure from above pulled his skin taut. He raised his head, his pupils filling with golden light and an ice-blue tide of cold.
The sea churned beneath him.
A river of blood erupted into the sky. Churning crimson liquid layered itself in front of Thalvyr. What began as a thin curtain quickly thickened as more blood poured into it, forming a massive scarlet barrier that shielded his entire body.
But even with Golden Frost Skyfall about to descend, Thalvyr still refused to give up the pink energy orb Ethan had sent him.
That round, wobbling, irresistibly "delicious" orb had already reached him.
