Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God
Chapter 345 - 346: The New Story Begins
Chapter 345: Chapter 346: The New Story Begins
The domain was quiet.
Higher reality substance flowed gently around the edges of the space Runar had shaped, carrying with it the faint warmth of the cluster below. The substance did not press here. It did not weigh. It simply moved, like a slow river passing around stones that had been there long enough to become part of the landscape.
Below them, the chosen cluster of Multiverses glowed with countless living stories. Civilizations rose and fell. Systems awakened. Destinies tangled and untangled. From this height, everything moved slowly and clearly, the way a forest looks when you stand above it and watch the seasons change.
Celestia stood near the boundary, her storm lattice spread in a calm, stabilizing layer that kept the flow of information ordered and easy to read. She looked content. The restless pressure that had once driven her forward — the need to prove, to reach, to close the gap between herself and the person she had chosen to walk beside — had settled into something quieter and stronger. She was no longer chasing. She was simply here.
This is what peace feels like, she thought, watching a distant Multiverse cycle through one of its slower eras. Not the absence of motion. The absence of urgency.
Nyla sat with one leg dangling over the edge of the domain, eyes bright as she watched the Multiverses below. Her curiosity engine turned steadily, tasting possibilities without rushing toward them. She still wanted to explore. She still wanted to understand. But she no longer needed to chase every new thing at once. The Omniverse was patient. It would still be here tomorrow. And the day after that.
"I think I like this," she said, swinging her leg gently. "Just sitting. Watching. Not having to be somewhere."
Celestia glanced at her. "You lasted three minutes without commenting."
"I’m growing as a person."
Runar sat between them in silence.
For the first time in a very long while, he felt no urgency. Absolute Comprehension continued its quiet work, reading everything that passed within range, but there was no hunger behind it. The Multiverse he had once completely digested was finished. The Omniverse still held mysteries, yet none of them demanded immediate action. He could simply sit, observe, and exist.
That feeling was rare.
He had spent so long moving. Reading. Refining. Fighting. Protecting. Preparing. Each step had been necessary. Each step had led here. But sitting in this moment, with Celestia’s calm presence on one side and Nyla’s quiet energy on the other, Runar allowed himself to recognize something he rarely acknowledged.
He was tired.
Not in a way that required rest. In a way that required stillness. And stillness was what this place gave him.
This is enough, he thought. For now, this is enough.
He let his attention drift across the cluster below, watching ordinary lives unfold. Most stories were small. A young cultivator struggling with a basic technique, failing, trying again, failing differently. A sect rising through careful politics, building alliances that would last three generations before collapsing under their own weight. A war that would be forgotten in three eras, fought over a resource that would become irrelevant in four. Interesting enough to glance at, but nothing that pulled him deeper.
He watched them the way one watches rain falling on a window. Present. Acknowledged. Not grasped.
Then something different appeared.
In one of the younger universes, tucked into a quiet corner of the cluster where the laws were still fresh and the timelines had not yet settled into predictable patterns, a boy had just begun walking the path of cultivation.
On the surface he looked completely ordinary. Weak foundation. Common starting point. No special bloodline, no powerful backing, no heaven-defying system dropping into his hands. He sat alone on a quiet mountain path at dawn, trying to sense the first thread of spiritual energy the way every beginner did. His robes were worn. His hands were calloused. His face carried the particular stubbornness of someone who had been told he was not special and had decided to ignore it.
Most Omniversal beings would have looked past him without a second thought.
Absolute Comprehension did not.
Hidden inside the boy was a secret ability so rare that even Runar paused.
The boy could sense different versions of himself across parallel universes. Not just sense them. Copy their talents. A version of himself who had awakened a powerful flame affinity in a universe where fire was the dominant element. Another who had been born with an ancient sword soul in a universe where blades carried living will. Another who had somehow touched a fragment of pure spatial law in a universe where distance itself was a cultivable principle. The ability was still sleeping, only half-awake, buried under layers of inexperience and confusion. But the potential was real and clean.
The boy himself did not understand it yet. He only felt a strange pull, a faint feeling that something more was possible if he kept moving forward. A whisper at the edge of his awareness that said, You are not just one person. You are many. And they have things to give you.
Runar watched as the boy finally caught his first thin strand of spiritual energy and held it, trembling with effort and quiet excitement. The strand was weak. Unstable. It would probably dissolve within a few breaths. But the boy held it anyway, his jaw tight, his eyes focused, refusing to let go before he was ready.
Celestia noticed the shift in Runar’s attention. His golden-white eyes had stopped drifting. They had fixed on a single point below, steady and focused in a way she had not seen since they arrived in the Omniverse.
"You found something," she said.
Nyla leaned forward at once, her curiosity engine perking up. "What is it?"
Runar kept his eyes on the boy far below.
"A unique ability," he answered. "He can copy the talents of his other selves across parallel universes."
Nyla’s eyes lit up. "That’s... actually ridiculous overpowered."
Celestia studied the faint trace of the ability through the distance, her storm lattice reaching carefully toward the boy’s universe without touching it. "He doesn’t know what he has yet."
"No," Runar said. "He has only just begun."
The three of them watched in silence for a while.
The boy on the mountain path finally stabilized the thin thread of energy and let out a shaky breath of success. His shoulders dropped. His hands trembled. He looked down at his own palms as though they belonged to someone else. He had no idea that three beings who had already left the Multiverse behind were watching his first real step. He only knew that the path in front of him felt a little wider than it had the day before.
He stood up slowly, adjusted his worn robe, and looked down the mountain path toward the village below. The morning light caught his face. He was smiling. Not a big smile. Just a small, quiet one. The kind of smile that said, I did something. It was small. But I did it.
Then he started walking.
Celestia watched him go. "He’ll be interesting to follow."
Nyla nodded. "I want to see what he copies first. The flame affinity or the sword soul."
"It will be neither," Runar said quietly. "He will copy something smaller first. Something he does not expect. That is how these abilities wake."
Nyla looked at him. "You sound like you’ve seen this before."
"Not this specific ability. But the pattern is familiar. Rare abilities always wake slowly. They test the host before revealing themselves fully."
Celestia glanced at Runar. "Are you interested?"
Runar’s answer was calm and simple.
"Let’s see."
He did not reach down. He did not interfere. He simply continued watching as the boy walked farther along the mountain path toward whatever came next. The boy’s footsteps were small. His progress was slow. But he was moving, and that was what mattered.
Around them, the Omniverse stretched on without end. Endless Multiverses turned like living pages. Older Omniversals continued their watching and their games. Verse Eaters still existed somewhere in the distance. The higher sea remained vast and full of stories that had not yet been told.
But in this quiet corner, three people sat together in a domain they had built themselves, looking down at a single boy who had just taken his first step.
Celestia leaned slightly against Runar’s shoulder. Nyla rested her chin on her hand, still watching the boy disappear down the mountain path. The higher reality substance flowed gently around the edges of their domain, carrying the warmth of countless stories below.
The current saga ended there.
Not with a battle. Not with a breakthrough. Not with a dramatic declaration or a final confrontation. It ended with three people sitting together in a place they had chosen, watching something new begin far below them, and deciding — quietly, without urgency — that they would keep watching.
A new story was ready to begin.

Author’s Note:
Sorion here, Thank you to everyone who stuck with this slop story all the way to the end.
I know it was long, messy at times, and full of the usual nonsense I like to write, but you still followed Runar’s journey from the beginning to the moment he and his wives stepped into the Omniverse. That means a lot.
If you enjoyed the ride and want to keep going, the next story is already waiting. A new protagonist is just starting his path, and things are going to get interesting in a very different way.
That said, don’t think this is the last you’ll see of Runar, Celestia, and Nyla. I still have plans for them in the Omniverse... and beyond that, there’s a mysterious realm above even the Omniverse that I haven’t touched yet.
So this isn’t really a goodbye.
It’s just the end of one stage.
Thank you again for reading.
See you in the next story.
