Chapter 339: Chapter 340: Ascension

They stood in the vast empty space of the Multiverse.

There was no clear edge. The Multiverse was infinite and always growing, stretching outward in every direction through laws, dimensions, timelines, and realities that no ordinary being could count. To leave it, a person could not simply walk to a door. There was no door. A person had to make their own boundary gate, break the barrier that surrounded the entire structure, and step through by force of will and principle.

Runar, Celestia, and Nyla floated side by side in the quiet void. Behind them, the Multiverse simply existed like a book that had already been read and fully understood. It did not call to them. It did not test them. It did not try to hold them back.

The Multiverse did not resist them.

In fact, it felt almost relieved. These three had stayed far too long. Their presence was too heavy, too complete, and too far above the normal order of the structure. Now they were finally leaving. The laws around them stayed calm and open, as though the Multiverse itself had stepped aside to let them pass.

It is glad, Runar thought, sensing the subtle ease in the surrounding reality. It has been waiting for me to leave.

He did not find that insulting. A pond could not hold the ocean forever.

Celestia looked out into the empty space, her storm lattice resting calmly inside her. She could feel the barrier of the Multiverse now, not as a wall, but as a limit — the outermost definition of everything she had ever known. It was strange to think that she was about to leave it behind.

So this is the edge, she thought. Not an edge in space, but an edge in meaning.

Nyla, on her other side, was practically vibrating with excitement. Her curiosity engine spun in bright, adaptive patterns, testing the local laws, tasting the pressure of the void, and searching for the shape of the barrier. She had never been good at standing still during important moments, and this one was the most important of all.

"So," Nyla said, breaking the silence. "Do we just punch the Multiverse?"

Celestia glanced at her. "We do not punch the Multiverse."

Nyla frowned. "Then how do we phrase it?"

"We open a boundary gate," Runar said calmly. "We break the barrier around the Multiverse and pass through."

Nyla considered this. "So we punch the barrier around the Multiverse."

Celestia sighed. "Close enough."

Runar looked at both of them.

He did not ask if they were ready. He already knew.

Celestia’s storm lattice sat stable and complete inside her. It was no longer a structure she maintained. It had become part of her existence, quiet and absolute. Nyla’s curiosity engine burned with controlled excitement, flexible, sharp, and alive with possibility. Both women met his eyes without any hesitation.

They were ready.

Runar gave a small nod.

They nodded back.

Together, they stretched one hand forward.

Their wills moved at the same time. Principles answered. The void, reality, dimension, space, and time in front of them split open under the combined force of their authority. It did not tear violently. It separated cleanly, like a page being turned by someone who knew exactly where the story ended.

Beyond the opening, they sensed the true barrier that wrapped the Multiverse.

It was not made of energy in the normal sense. It was more like the outer skin of a completed structure, the final definition that separated what belonged to the Multiverse from what lay beyond it. Runar had seen it before in his comprehension. Celestia and Nyla were seeing it directly for the first time.

They broke that barrier with the same ease.

The three of them pressed their wills forward, and the barrier gave way. A path to the higher verse opened.

Light poured down through the break.

It was not ordinary light. It was higher reality substance, pure and dense, flowing from the verse beyond into the Multiverse. It did not shine the way stars shone. It existed with a weight that made every other form of energy feel thin. The moment it touched them, it washed through their bodies.

Celestia felt it first as a flood of clarity. Every type of energy she carried was flushed away and replaced. The remnants of her old cultivation, the lower forms of power that had once supported her existence, and even the refined energies of the Paragon realm were swept aside. In their place came something higher, something that belonged to a reality above the Multiverse.

Her soul core evolved in less than a second.

Her vessel followed immediately. The change was not painful. It was not violent. It was simply complete. Her existence became a structure that belonged to the higher reality, stable and finished.

I am no longer a being of the Multiverse, Celestia realized. I am something else now.

Nyla felt the same transformation, but her experience of it was different. The higher reality substance did not settle into her like calm water. It sparked through her curiosity engine, feeding it, sharpening it, and giving it a new kind of fuel. Her soul core evolved in the same instant, and her vessel adapted immediately, reshaping itself to fit the higher order without losing any of its natural flexibility.

Nyla laughed under her breath. "Oh, that is much better."

Her principles had already reached the required level. The substance simply locked the evolution in place.

Runar continued absorbing.

The higher reality substance kept pouring into him without stopping. His Absolute Comprehension and Origin Weave had refined his soul core and vessel far beyond normal limits. The capacity was simply larger. Where Celestia and Nyla absorbed what they needed and naturally stopped, Runar’s foundation continued drawing the substance inward like an ocean accepting rain.

He did not reject the flow. He did not need to. His soul core compressed the substance, refined it, and integrated it with terrifying efficiency. Origin Weave shaped the incoming higher reality into stable structures, while Absolute Comprehension read every layer of it as it arrived.

This is why my preparation mattered, Runar thought. A normal ascender would take only what is necessary. My principles created a vessel capable of taking more.

He did not stop to analyze the full consequences. He kept absorbing while the three of them flew toward the open barrier.

As they moved, gravity began to rise.

It multiplied without end. The pressure came from no single direction. It pressed against their bodies, their souls, their principles, and the very concept of their existence. It was simple as the gravity of a planet or a star or even whole sectors of multiverses. It was the gravity of a higher reality pressing down on beings who were trying to enter it.

The pressure would have crushed any normal Paragon instantly.

Celestia felt the weight clearly and spoke while they flew. "I never even thought this kind of gravity could theorectical even exist. If a Paragon stood near us right now, I do not think that Paragon would still be alive."

Runar answered calmly. "This is probably a test for those who ascend. The gravity in the upper verse is most likely even higher than what we feel now."

Nyla looked between them. "So you’re saying it gets worse?"

"It gets heavier," Runar said.

Nyla grinned. "Good. I was worried it would be boring."

Celestia gave her a flat look, but she did not argue.

The pressure did not slow them.

Their foundations and principles held them steady. Celestia’s storm lattice imposed order around her existence, preventing the gravity from distorting her shape. Nyla’s curiosity engine adapted in real time, generating new responses each time the pressure changed. Runar simply moved forward, his refined vessel accepting the weight as though it had been built for exactly this kind of environment.

With the new power from the evolution, they actually moved faster. The open barrier grew closer.

Behind them, the Multiverse fell away.

In Willith’s Universe and William’s Universe, the two Guardian Wills sensed the exact moment of ascension. They did not speak. They did not try to send any message. They only acknowledged what had happened.

Willith felt a quiet sense of completion, 2 ascenders came from her multiverse.

William felt a quiet sense of gratitude, an ascender had come from his universe.

The promise had been fulfilled on both sides.

Across the Multiverse, an infinite number of universal wills and Paragons also felt the event. Their attention turned toward the location in shared awe. Three people were ascending at the same time. Most of them could not believe it. Three beings capable of ascension had been living inside their Multiverse, and almost no one had known.

Some voices rose in quiet shock.

"There are truly tigers and lions living among sheep."

"This is the real meaning of laying low."

The Multiversal Will itself felt overjoyed. Higher reality substance was leaking through the large opening in the barrier. The Multiverse could absorb it. Its infinite expansion would speed up. Higher lifeforms would appear more easily. Its principles would grow richer. For a structure that had long since reached a stable peak, this was an unexpected gift.

The opening was larger than it would have been for a single ascender. Three beings had broken through together, and the barrier had torn wide enough to let a significant flow of higher reality pour inward. The Multiversal Will did not care who had left. It cared about what their departure brought.

The Paragons also knew about the higher reality substance. But none of them dared approach the site. In the past, in the early days of the brand new multiverse, a few Paragons had tried to absorb leftover traces of it. They had exploded and died permanently. The energy was simply too much. Their foundations had not been prepared, their soul cores had not been refined enough, and their vessels had collapsed under the weight of something that belonged to a higher order.

Since then the lesson had been clear: it was better to let the Multiverse take the substance, process it, and then read the results later.

Meanhwile Runar, Celestia, and Nyla continued to pass through the open barrier.

And when they reached right in front of the barrier, the gravity had reached unexplainable amounts, but that didnt deter them and they stepped throug the barier.

The transition was clean. There was no final struggle. There was no desperate trial. There was no enemy waiting on the other side. The Multiverse had already been finished as a source. The step beyond it was not a battle to be won. It was a door to be walked through.

Celestia felt the last connection to the Multiverse loosen behind her. It did not break painfully. It simply became distant, like a memory of a house she had once lived in.

So this is what leaving feels like, she thought. Not loss. Completion.

Nyla felt the higher verse open around them, vast and unreadable, filled with laws she had never encountered before. Her curiosity engine flared with delight.

"Okay," she said softly. "This is new."

Runar looked back once.

The Multiverse became small behind them. It was not destroyed. It was not rejected. It was simply finished as their current stage. Everything he had read, everything he had refined, and everything he had left behind remained there, complete and quiet.

He turned forward again.

They ascended together into the higher order of existence.
