Chapter 637 - 646: Primordial Spirit Mirror
To think Wang Hao was cultivating the Taiyi Heartless Dao! The core teachings of any Sect were its most guarded secrets; how could they be so easily practiced by an outsider?
Mingkong, standing to the side, couldn’t help but speak up. "There are only two of them. Let’s just hurry up and vote."
Hearing Mingkong’s words, the other disciples of Purple Bamboo Peak grew tense. The future and fate of their peak were at stake; they couldn’t help but be nervous.
Wang Hao pondered for a moment before speaking directly. "I think Du Qianqian is more suitable. First, she is a senior disciple with profound cultivation and great strength, and she holds a certain amount of prestige. Second, she has a calm and magnanimous personality."
Du Qianqian was delighted to hear Wang Hao nominate her right away. Meanwhile, Yann Chuxue, who stood to the side, maintained her cold expression, looking as if she couldn’t care less about the matter.
’Of course, I hope Yann Chuxue becomes the Peak Master of Purple Bamboo Peak,’ Wen Qingye thought. ’But Wang Hao has a point. Du Qianqian is indeed much stronger than Yann Chuxue, and she has a certain level of prestige and connections on Purple Bamboo Peak.’
’In some ways, she really is more suited to be Peak Master than Yann Chuxue.’
"What do you think about this position?"
Suddenly, Wen Qingye’s voice rang in Yann Chuxue’s ear. She jumped, startled, and quickly looked over at him. She saw him smiling faintly, seemingly listening to Wang Hao speak.
Wen Qingye was using a Hundred Miles Sound Transmission Secret Technique to speak with Yann Chuxue.
"I have no particular thoughts," Yann Chuxue said, shaking her head. Then, she pursed her lips. "If you want me to take this position, then I don’t mind becoming the Peak Master of Purple Bamboo Peak."
"Yes, I understand."
Just as Wang Hao finished speaking, Mingkong eagerly jumped in. "I think what Brother Wang said makes perfect sense! He spoke my mind exactly. I agree with him."
With Wang Hao and Mingkong having declared their stance without hesitation, all eyes turned to Wen Qingye, Lu Wushuang, and Chu Bufan. If just one of them chose Du Qianqian, she would be the well-deserved new Peak Master of Purple Bamboo Peak.
Du Qianqian’s heart was in her throat. Her eyes, however, weren’t on just anyone—they were fixed on Lu Wushuang. She knew that only Lu Wushuang could help her now.
Wen Qingye smiled faintly and opened his mouth. "I also vote for Du Qianqian."
As Wen Qingye’s words fell, a hush fell over the area. Everyone stared at him in disbelief. Du Qianqian’s jaw dropped, as if she couldn’t believe her own ears.
’Is it all settled just like that?’
Things seemed to have progressed very smoothly. It was as if the matter had been decided the moment they all sat down.
Lu Wushuang looked at Chu Bufan and couldn’t help but laugh. "Looks like the two of us came here for nothing."
Chu Bufan stared at Wen Qingye, his expression grim. "Why? Tell me."
Wen Qingye replied slowly, "The position of Purple Bamboo Peak’s Master should go to whoever is most suitable. Du Qianqian is undoubtedly that person. I think you, of all people, should know that."
Yann Chuxue also stepped forward and said slowly, "That’s right. As for the position of Peak Master, I also think Senior Sister Du is more suitable than I am. I believe Qingye’s choice is the right one."
Seeing that the matter was settled, Wang Hao smiled. "In that case, it’s decided. I still have some residual Flame Poison from the Flame Fire Quicksand in my body that I need to deal with urgently, so I’ll be taking my leave."
After speaking, he turned to leave as if in a great hurry.
"Wait!"
The next instant, a hand shot out, blocking Wang Hao’s path.
Wen Qingye looked at Wang Hao with a faint smile. "Wang Hao, what’s the rush? Are you eager to report the results to your contact in Taiyi Pavilion?"
"Junior Brother Wen, what are you talking about?" Wang Hao’s expression changed drastically. "Taiyi Pavilion? I have no idea what you mean."
Wen Qingye’s actions left everyone around them completely bewildered.
Wen Qingye stared at Wang Hao, his face devoid of expression. "Your aura gave you away. You shouldn’t have practiced Taiyi Pavilion’s Taiyi Heartless Dao."
The Taiyi Heartless Dao!?
Everyone was stunned. The next moment, all eyes were on Wang Hao. The core teachings of a Sect were its most guarded secret. If Wang Hao had learned it, didn’t that mean he might be... from Taiyi Pavilion?
Wang Hao’s expression stiffened slightly. "When did I ever practice the core teachings of Taiyi Pavilion? That’s their most guarded secret. Wen Qingye, don’t spout nonsense."
Wen Qingye sneered. "Nonsense? Then let’s use the Primordial Spirit Mirror and see exactly what kind of Law Power resides within your Primordial Spirit."
The Primordial Spirit Mirror was a mirror capable of detecting the Law Power within a Primordial Spirit. As a Major Sect, the Celestial Profound Sect naturally possessed one.
Wang Hao glared at Wen Qingye and roared, "Wen Qingye, stop your baseless accusations! I haven’t cultivated the Taiyi Heartless Dao of Taiyi Pavilion, so why should I submit to the Primordial Spirit Mirror? And who are you to order me around?"
Mingkong, also unable to hold back, said with a dark expression, "Exactly! Wen Qingye, don’t forget how long you’ve been a True Disciple. How can you be so arrogant? You suspect Brother Wang is a traitor? For all we know, you’re the traitor!"
Wen Qingye ignored Mingkong and kept his eyes fixed on Wang Hao. "What’s wrong? Did I hit a nerve? Are you lashing out in shame?"
Seeing Mingkong by his side, Wang Hao felt his resolve harden. He snorted coldly. "Wen Qingye, I’d advise you to produce some real evidence if you’re going to accuse me. Otherwise, you’ll only make a fool of yourself."
Wen Qingye’s expression remained unchanged as he stared intently at the two. His words, however, were for Yann Chuxue behind him. "Chuxue, go to the Law Enforcement Hall on the Main Peak and bring back the Primordial Spirit Mirror."
"Alright, I’ll go at once." Hearing Wen Qingye’s request, Yann Chuxue didn’t hesitate for a moment. She immediately rose and headed for the Main Peak.
The disciples looked at each other, unsure how the situation had escalated so suddenly.
Chu Bufan looked at Lu Wushuang beside him and asked, "What in the world is going on?"
"I’m not sure either." Lu Wushuang paused in thought for a moment, then said in a clear voice, "Since Wen Qingye is so certain, what’s the harm in waiting for the Primordial Spirit Mirror to arrive?"
When Wang Hao saw Yann Chuxue heading toward the Main Peak, his expression changed abruptly. He shot a cold glare at Wen Qingye and said, "If you want to play games, play them by yourself. I don’t have time to waste with you."
Having said his piece, Wang Hao turned and walked directly toward Xuanyun Hall.
Wen Qingye blocked his path and said flatly, "Did you think you could just walk away?"
Wang Hao’s expression changed dramatically, his face growing colder by the second. "Get out of my way, or don’t blame me for what happens next."
Wen Qingye met his gaze with cold indifference. "We’ll see if you have what it takes."
"Don’t!"
