My Youth Began With Him

Chapter 2546 - The Divorcing Crisis (6)

Chapter 2546 The Divorcing Crisis (6)

“Mhm.”

Su Yu was baffled; he had said so much but all Qin Chu said was ‘mhm’.

“Yo Bro, are you listening to me or not?” he asked, exasperated.

“I am, go on…”

Qin Chu’s response was just as calm as Huo Mian’s.

“Forget it, you and Huo Mian are smart people, you should know what’s best better than me.” In the end, Su Yu decided to give up his intervention. He got up with his champagne glass and walked away ever-so-proudly.

It was already 9 PM when Qin Chu arrived at home. The twins were still downstairs, playing with their grandparents.

“Daddy, you’re home!” Little Bean immediately ran up and hugged Qin Chu’s leg.

“Mhm.”

Qin Chu could never refuse his daughters, and he immediately picked Little Bean up. “What did you guys have for dinner?”

“Granny made us stir-fry vegetables.”

“Were they good?”

“Not bad… not as good as the professional chefs for sure, but Granny cooked with her heart.”

“You little brat, you’re so good at making us feel good about ourselves,” Mrs. Qin laughed.

“Is Mommy home?”

“Oh, yeah. She’s taking a shower. Mommy looks exhausted,” Little Bean said.

“Hang out downstairs with your sister. Daddy will go upstairs real quick.” Then, Qin Chu carefully placed Little Bean down and went upstairs, briefcase in hand.

“What’s going on with Chu and Mian? They seem weird.” Mrs. Qin looked at Qin Chu, a bad feeling crawling up her spine.

“Perhaps they’ve both been too busy,” Mr. Qin guessed.

-Upstairs in the master bedroom –

Huo Mian had just come out of the shower and was drying off her hair when Qin Chu walked in.

“Honey, you’re home.”

“Mhm.”

“What’s wrong? Did the gathering tonight not go well?” Huo Mian asked since Qin Chu looked like he had something on his mind.

“Did you end up working overtime tonight?” he asked.

“I was going to, but I didn’t.”

“Then where did you go after work?” Qin Chu asked with a stem expression on his face.

“Oh, I… had dinner at a friend’s place.” Huo Mian didn’t say that she saw Wei Dong since she never told Qin Chu about the money she lent him.

“Friend? What friend? A man, right?”

“Um…” Huo Mian didn’t know how to respond; just as she was thinking of a way to answer that wouldn’t make Qin Chu jealous, he continued, “It’s fine that you didn’t want to go to the gathering tonight, I thought you would come straight home and spend time with the twins. To my great surprise, however, you had dinner with another man, and you really seemed to have enjoyed it. Huo Mian, what were you thinking? Are you trying to throw away this wonderful life you have?”

“What do you think you’re saying?” Huo Mian’s face fell.

“What am I saying? You were photographed!” Qin Chu was angry as well.

“I was photographed? What do you mean? Did you have me followed?” Huo Mian demanded.

“Why would I follow you? I have better things to do… Take a look at this for yourself…” Qin Chu threw his phone angrily onto their bed.

Huo Mian picked his phone up; it showed the front page of a media outlet and in gleaming letters were ‘Wife of Rich Businessman Meets Mysterious Man at Night, Trouble in Paradise’

Below the headlines was a photo of her and Wei Dong after he walked her downstairs; they seemed to be talking on the sidewalk.

Wei Dong’s place was located in a small alley; why would there be paparazzi? Moreover, Huo Mian wasn’t any famous, so why would something as small as this make headlines?

“So, care to explain, Dr. Huo?” Qin Chu asked icily as he pointed at the news on his phone.
