My Weekly Refreshing Mentor Spirit
Chapter 905 - 499: Xue Dili of the Death Angels
In the evening, Chancellor Xue finally finished his backlog of work, walking home like a flickering candle in the wind.
If previously the only thing he cared about was his wife and kids, that last bit of concern vanished after discovering he was simultaneously traversing worlds.
"I’m back..." He arrived at the house he lived in this world, a place set up by that kid Howard. Apparently, Howard was eventually taught a harsh lesson by his tigress of a wife, whose screams sounded like Tom Cat.
This was why he didn’t quite like this world; the people here were too violent, often resorting to physical confrontations, yet they love each other passionately. Indeed, different cultures and habits lead to discomfort, not to mention it’s an Otherworld.
"Hmm?" He was a bit puzzled; clearly, his three wives were all pregnant and would get the appropriate rest time, not needing to work in such a physical condition. So where were they?
Also, there was clearly the aroma of food at home, but where were the people?
He couldn’t quite understand as he walked into the living room.
The next moment, the lights suddenly turned on, followed by fireworks.
"Da da da! Happy Birthday, hubby!" A seemingly rehearsed voice suddenly sounded, leaving him momentarily stunned...
"You all..." Chancellor Xue was momentarily stunned, seeing that his three wives were each wearing a white lab coat, clothes not supposed to appear in this world.
"Isn’t today your birthday? We just wanted to surprise you."
He fell silent for a moment.
Today wasn’t his birthday; birthdays had lost any significance in the Otherworld. He’d just casually registered a date with Howard.
Perhaps, maybe that random date was today.
He’d forgotten.
"These clothes, we heard you seem particularly fond of them, become nostalgic whenever you see similar clothes, so we secretly made a few to surprise you." They spun around, showcasing the lab coat-like apparel.
He looked at his wives, and for some reason, felt a sense of belonging in a foreign land.
Though clumsy and somewhat presumptuous in their surprise, which felt more like a shock to him.
"Let’s eat first, that’s the most important." He smiled.
...
Meanwhile, on Angel Star...
"Godfather!" The sudden voice made Xue Dili feel his DNA shiver as if a Long Halberd was about to chop at his neck.
"Better not..." Xue Dili instantly refused the shameless World Consciousness.
Clearly, it was the World Consciousness most eager to buy his counterpart at that time, yet meeting it still felt shameless.
"Ever since I was almost wiped out by the Heart Stealer last time, I realized it’s safest to build my own army. At least, an army nurtured by oneself won’t cause too much trouble; relying solely on one person lacks a backup mechanism..."
"As for relying on the Interstellar Corps, it’s just too uncertain, so I directly established a High Tier Heaven and began nurturing an angel army. I refuse to believe that once they appear, even under my blessing, they’ll lose easily to the Apostle." The World Consciousness angrily remarked.
Xue Dili recalled that Heart Stealer also relocated to this world; since High Tier Heaven appeared, might the Heart Stealer’s side indeed be Hell?
"You guessed right, Godfather. I already negotiated with those Heart Stealers; they’ll act as Demons and start large-scale military training centered around the Human Realm, nurturing human heroes and transferring them into High Tier Heaven. I aim to train thousands of angels in 100 years, infinitely close to Tier Five, then launch a counterattack on the Apostles!" The World Consciousness began outlining its plan.
"Now, High Tier Heaven only lacks a primary God; do you want to be that God?" The World Consciousness was eager, seemingly ready to muster troops and strike at an opportune moment.
Then Xue Dili poured cold water: "The Fourth Apostle is dead."
The World Consciousness was stunned for a moment, then the entire planet felt like it wasn’t right.
"Killed by me and the Mimic Venerable King, trapped in the Void, leaving nothing but authority. Unless you plan to make its authority a revenge target, you’ll never find a revenge target this lifetime." Xue Dili scoffed.
The whole planet under World Consciousness seemed to turn half-gray, losing its dream.
Clearly, it had resolved to go for broke, crushing its nemesis with reckless militarism, even prepared venues and plans, built Hell and High Tier Heaven, and the chief had already prepared to tighten the belt for tough times...
Yet, why did the nemesis just vanish like that?
It even felt like questioning whether the resources exchanged for were worth it.
"I think your military training plan is feasible, but you don’t need thousands of them. I think a dozen Great Angels would be enough for defense, at least provide resistance when facing danger, hold out until reinforcements arrive. Solving all problems alone is impossible." Xue Dili scoffed.
Actually, the world’s resources aren’t that abundant; rather than pursuing thousands of angels, better to cultivate just a few Great Angels, avoid situations where one Angel inadvertently crashes without a safety net.
