Chapter 814 - 458: Not Brothers, Why Do You Seem a Little Dead?
The current age of the cosmos, as timed by the Interstellar Corps, is around 13.3 billion years, but the history of the Interstellar Corps is less than 2 billion years.
During the first 5 billion years after the birth of the cosmos, the big bang had just occurred not long ago, with all matter in the cosmos compressed into a small area, as if countless irregular bouncing small spheres were stuffed into a tiny glass container.
In that era, collisions between planets happened every moment, producing supergalactic explosions and particle streams that could envelop the entire cosmos, with countless planets merging and tearing apart during these collisions, happening constantly.
This was a barren era, an era impossible for the emergence of civilizations and life, as particle streams were everywhere in every corner of the cosmos, and the radiation caused by numerous supernova explosions turned the cosmos into a boiler room; even in vacuum, the temperature reached thousands of degrees, making the aggregation of any form of life impossible.
Until, 5 billion years later, the cosmos expanded enough, and many colliding celestial bodies and galaxies gradually stabilized into black holes, forming stable massive galaxy clusters with surrounding smaller galaxies. Only then was there a foundation for the emergence of life and civilizations.
But it was only the foundation; it would take a long, long time before the true birth of life and civilizations...
So it wasn’t until 9 billion years after the big bang that the cosmos birthed its first civilization, which then gradually expanded outward, leading to more regions being populated by civilizations.
This was the only record from the barren era.
In the Interstellar Corps, history is divided into the barren era, referring to all eras before the birth of the Venerable King, all known as the barren era.
That era is too ancient to investigate, leaving the archaeological faction of the Interstellar Corps bewildered about times before the birth of the Venerable King, speculating that there might have been many powerful civilizations, yet all have vanished in the river of history.
Moreover, the archaeological faction speculates humans might have looked quite bizarre during the barren era, as there was no magic power, Spiritual Particles, and all cosmic civilizations relied on energy in an environment of Absolute Forbidden Magic.
Some have proposed that the power used in that age might have been radiation, but it remains mere speculation.
Overall, the era before the birth of the Venerable King mostly consists of hypotheses, where civilizations might have looked strange, as the cosmos hadn’t yet welcomed convergent evolution, so any appearance could have existed.
There could have been races with reproductive organs on their faces...
Until 4 billion years ago, the birth of the Venerable King, who resolved the crisis of cosmic destruction and allowed remaining civilizations to flourish, and due to the Venerable King, a new substance called "Spiritual Particle" began to permeate the cosmos.
Spiritual Particles cause all intelligent life to evolve toward the likeness of the Venerable King; simultaneously, they bring about new energy pervading the cosmos and lead planets to gradually develop self-awareness.
Yes, in the barren era, planets did not possess awareness.
Some civilizations call it magic power, others spiritual energy or Spiritual Power, but all are inherently the same.
That is, the power originating post the Savior Venerable King permeating the cosmos, this being the origin of magic power.
From 4 billion to 3 billion years ago, this period is termed the golden era.
This era had all cosmic civilizations developing in harmony, as if teeming with life, all flourishing.
Due to the influence of the Venerable King, magic power (spiritual energy) became the new mainstream, and with the advent of Subspace, a simple and practical Technique—Teleportation Technique—was gradually developed.
Suddenly, cosmic travel was no longer a perilous, years-long endeavor but an easily traversable gateway at any moment.
This era is known as the golden era.
Thriving development, the application of magic power, exchanges, and trade between civilizations, along with the burgeoning awareness of planets, deterred civilizations from arbitrarily waging war, as any foreign invasion, without planetary consent, would lead to effortless annihilation.
However, as exchanges grew more frequent, chaos and greed began to take hold.
Until a war sweeping across the cosmos erupted, dragging planetary consciousness extensively into the fray, bringing about the era from 3 billion to 2 billion years ago, known as the dark ages.
It was the beginning of recorded times in the Interstellar Corps, and also the most chaotic era.
Eventually, the frequent warfare led to deaths and extinction, and after countless years, numerous civilizations converged to end the chaos and war, forming an alliance where none could command another, deciding to select a true "God" as their leader.
Thus, the Mimic Venerable King was born.
Collecting fragments of the Venerable King to form a new-born Venerable King, this is the Mimic Venerable King, becoming the "God" of this alliance, and the arbiter of order across the cosmos.
From then on, history opened a new Chapter.
Since the birth of the Mimic Venerable King, people discovered adhering to principles of "protection," "kindness," "assistance," led to gaining greater strength, but defying these principles led to a rapid loss of power.
Perhaps the initial intention was the pursuit of greater strength, hence exemplifying the concept of doing good deeds.
