Everyone except Su Liancheng went to Drunken Immortal Tavern for dinner after that episode between Murong Xue and Guang Yao, Su Liancheng didn’t show up until all the dishes were served.
‘Probably Murong Yun has sent him for an errand.’ thought Luo Qianqian.
“Why are you so late today?” Lin Zimo noticed Su Liancheng’s facial expression.
Su Liancheng snickered and invited himself to sit next to Lin Zimo, “What? You want to know so bad, Old Mo?”
“Not really.” Lin Zimo sat rigidly upright. He knew the more interest he displayed, the more Su Liancheng would keep everyone guessing.
Su Liancheng’s lips twitched and he gazed outside of the window, “Just wait for it, the interesting part is yet to come.”
“What interesting part?” asked Murong Xue.
“I said just wait for it.”
See, the more interest one displayed, the more Su Liancheng would keep everyone guessing.
“Wow, look at this, such a feast!” with that Su Liancheng grabbed a pair of chopsticks.
“Brother Eighth, I did what you asked, can I enjoy my dinner now?” Su Liancheng and Murong Yun exchanged a look before he actually dived in.
Murong Yun nodded.
Su Liancheng beamed and started to enjoy his food.
Soon a group of people showed up downstairs, the leader was Mu Chaoyang. The one who stood behind Mu Chaoyang looked so familiar too, it was… …Luo Jingxuan!
“Is that Luo Jingxuan?” Luo Qianqian murmured in surprise.
Murong Yun served Luo Qianqian her favorite cuisine in her bowl and replied, “That is Luo Jingxuan.”
“Why would he show up with Mu Chaoyang?” Luo Qianqian wasn’t close to anyone in Prime Minister Manor. She was away with Murong Yun for a while and her schedule was tight after she was back, so she had no idea about what her family members had been doing.
“What would be your first guess?” Murong Yun threw the question back.
‘Luo Jingxuan is Prime Minister Luo’s son, does this mean Prime Minister Luo is in Mu Chaoyang’s camp?’ but she wasn’t sure about that, all she knew was Luo Jingxuan and Luo Yuyan would do whatever The First Lady told them.
‘So… could it be… …’
“Is Luo Yuyan betrothed to Mu Chaoyang?” that seemed to be the only logical reason.
“But we would have heard about it if that were the case.” Luo Qianqian was lost in thought again, “No way will The First Lady and Prime Minister Luo allow Luo Jingxuan to just follow Mu Chaoyang around in public if their engagement isn’t final yet. Because having Luo Jingxuan showing up together with Mu Chaoyang is no difference than making a declaration that they have strategic cooperation now.”
Hearing that, Murong Yun asked, “Haven’t you heard of pledging to marry without parental consent?”
Luo Qianqian was so dumbfounded, that was what she dreaded to think.
‘How can Luo Yuyan do such a careless thing? Isn’t she afraid of paying a double penalty? That Mu Chaoyang is definitely not reliable!’ exclaimed Luo Qianqian in her heart, even though she was well aware Prime Minister Luo would be thrilled if he could really manage to marry Luo Yuyan to Mu Chaoyang.
“What’s the interesting part Su Liancheng was talking about then? I’m afraid he wasn’t just talking about Mu Chaoyang and Luo Yuyan showing up together. It’s not this simple.”
Su Liancheng wiped his greasy lips, “Patience, sister-in-law, patience.”
Guang Yao had been fidgeting since Mu Chaoyang showed up downstairs, he recalled it was Mu Chaoyang, the Crown Prince, who had hurt him before.
Hardly had Su Liancheng’s voice faded away when girl with a veil on her face showed up. This girl was clad in a regular robe, only a pair of eyes could be seen.
“Your Highness the Crown Prince… …” a familiar voice rang from downstairs.
Luo Qianqian wasn’t sure who the girl was because it seemed like the girl changed her voice deliberately.
Mu Chaoyang turned around only yo see a girl clad in a robe and a veil.
But Mu Chaoyang asked nervously, “What are you doing here?”
The girl gnashed her teeth under the veil, ‘I’m here… for you! Of course!’
It wasn’t until a few days ago did Luo Yuyan realize why Mu Chaoyang had approached her, he did it to come closer to Luo Qianqian!
Poor Luo Yuyan had done everything to win Mu Chaoyang’s heart, she even had lost her virginity. But Mu Chaoyang had been avoiding her for a while, Luo Yuyan thought everything through, and she found out Mu Chaoyang started to avoid her on the day when Luo Qianqian came back.
Luo Yuyan realized all the previous efforts were down the drain along with Luo Qianqian’s return, however, Luo Yuyan had no way to retreat because she and Mu Chaoyang had committed sin. She needed to marry Mu Chaoyang as soon as possible. In ancient times, a girl’s virginity was everything.
“Your Highness, don’t you want to see me here?” the girl responded with a sneer, it was Luo Yuyan.
Mu Chaoyang made face at Luo Yuyan promptly, but Luo Yuyan pretended she hadn’t seen it.
Mu Chaoyang had to drag Luo Yuyan to somewhere quiet, “why are you here uninvited? Are you afraid people can’t see through our relationship?”
“The question is why are you afraid that people might see through our relationship? After you know I’ve given everything to you? Why are you afraid of it?”
Mu Chaoyang didn’t want to make a scene, he lured Luo Yuyan, “Yuyan, I’m in the middle of something now, I will visit you soon, and we can talk about our betrothal by then.”
“What have you taken me for, Your Highness?” Luo Qianqian showed a meaningful smile, “Do you think I will fall for your lie at this point?”
Mu Chaoyang went exasperated, he grabbed Luo Yuyan’s wrist, “What are you doing here then?”
“Tell you what, I only did that under the influence of alcohol!” Mu Chaoyang was filled with remorse for committing sin with Luo Yuyan, he liked Luo Yuyan, but he couldn’t stop thinking about Luo Qianqian, he wished he could marry Luo Qianqian instead of Luo Yuyan.
“Under the influence of alcohol? What about the second time? The third time? I’m no fool, you are discarding me after having made use of me, right? I know you like Luo Qianqian, but she is betrothed to Prince Eighth! And you have committed sin with me!” Luo Yuyan roared.
Mu Chaoyang was infuriated that Luo Yuyan had unmasked him, he looked livid, “Shut up!”
