My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 72: Mom, what happened to you?
Jexy sneered. "Orland, are you still going to lie to Hana?"
"Aunt, I was involved in what happened in the past. But I wasn’t the one who started it. Besides, I only pushed her. You know that better than anyone else." Orland took a deep breath. "I’ll make up for all the mistakes I’ve made to Hana in the future. You don’t need to bring this up again," he said.
Jesy, Jexy, and Jezy exchanged glances before shaking their heads in disbelief.
"You’ll pay dearly for all of this," Jesy said.
Jezy said nothing to advise her nephew. She rose from her chair and walked out of the room.
As soon as she opened the door, Zahn and Kevin stared at Jezy with wide eyes.
Jezy lowered her head and gently pinched both of their cheeks.
"We’re going to Melvin City today. We’re going to bring your mother home."
"Grandma..." Zahn looked at her. "Did they hurt Mom? Were we wrong? Should we not have tried to find a father for Mom?"
Jezy shook her head. "You did nothing wrong," she said with a smile. "Sooner or later, your mother would have found out. As for what happens next, your mother will decide for herself."
Kevin stared at the ward door in front of him with a complicated expression, but not a single word came out of his mouth. He clenched his tiny fingers several times.
"Let’s go now," Hans Xin said. "My secretary is already waiting at the airport."
Kevin and Zahn nodded. They followed Hans inside to retrieve their backpacks.
Kevin turned to look at Orland, who had been watching him the entire time.
"If I find out what you’ve done to Mom, I guarantee I’ll make you pay for it tenfold. Orland Hesh, I’ll make your entire family pay."
Jexy, Jezy, and Jesy picked up their small bags before looking at Orland.
"Get some rest in this city first," Jezy said. "I don’t think Hana’s ex-husband is a good person either. We need to find him as soon as possible."
As soon as the ward door closed, Orland covered his face with his arm. His usually superior and composed demeanor gave way to the state he had been in five years ago, when he lost Hana.
After a while, a glint appeared in Orland’s eyes. He got out of bed and reached for his phone on the table.
He pressed a few buttons, and not long afterward, his secretary, who was at the hospital, entered the room.
"Sir," he greeted.
"Prepare a plane for me within an hour. We’re returning to Melvin City now," Orland said.
His secretary was stunned for a moment. "Sir, but your injuries...?"
Orland waved his hand, showing no intention of changing his decision.
His secretary finally let out a long sigh before quickly turning around to arrange Orland’s flight.
Meanwhile, in Melvin City, Hana stood trembling as she stared at the owner of the gambling den, who was lying on the ground with blood covering his head.
"I-I... I really didn’t mean to do that," Hana said. "Are... are you okay?"
Feeling the man’s body slowly growing cold, Hana stumbled backward and fell to the ground. She clamped both hands over her mouth, shaking her head weakly, unable to accept the reality of what had just happened.
Hana clenched her hands tightly. "I’ll take responsibility, I swear. But please let me go back to Karua City first. I have to see my children."
After saying that, she immediately checked her surroundings. Her eyes stopped at the large window in the corner of the room. Hana glanced behind her one last time, then climbed out through the window with trembling steps.
THUD!
Her body hit the ground hard below.
Hana looked up at the two-story building, shook her head quickly, and ran toward the nearby main road, trying to slip away unnoticed.
From inside the car, Brandon’s mother watched her with a sinister smile.
"Is that man dead?" she asked coldly.
"Not yet, Madam. He’s still breathing. Should we take him to the hospital?"
"The hospital?" She laughed scornfully. "If he survives, how am I supposed to keep that girl away from my son? Just leave him there. Don’t let anyone go near him. In an hour, call the media and announce everything," she ordered firmly.
Hana continued running along a road that was completely unfamiliar to her. Her white dress was now stained with blood and dirt. She repeatedly glanced over her shoulder, afraid of being caught and taken back to that place—a place that could destroy her life forever if anyone found out what had just happened.
THUD!
Hana finally collapsed on a deserted road where no one passed by. She looked around anxiously and desperately before pulling her knees tightly to her chest and covering her face with both hands.
"Why? I didn’t mean to hurt him. I only wanted to go back to Karua City to see my children. Why is all of this happening?" Hana sobbed.
"Mom... I’m scared," she whispered, her body trembling violently. Her tears finally poured out uncontrollably. "What should I do? What about my children? Father, Mother..."
Hana continued hugging her knees tightly. Her hair, which had been neatly styled earlier, was now terribly disheveled, but she didn’t care. She had long since forgotten the pain in her knees. She didn’t know how long she had been sitting in the same position. All she knew was that her body was beginning to go numb, yet she still didn’t dare to move.
Not far from where Hana was sitting, a little boy finally ran toward her, panting heavily.
"Mom!!!!" he shouted.
Sean hurried toward her when he saw how horrifying Hana looked.
Hana didn’t respond and continued shaking her head, believing that the voice was merely a hallucination brought on by her despair.
"Mom!" Sean shouted again. He wrapped his arms around Hana’s trembling body, trying to bring the woman back to her senses.
Hana finally lifted her head and stared at Sean for a few moments. She blinked several times because her vision was blurred by the tears that kept streaming down her face.
"Mom..." Sean called again. His hand moved to wipe the tears from Hana’s face. "Mom, it’s me. I’m Sean, your son. What’s wrong with you, Mom? Why are you like this?" he asked one question after another.
"Sean? Are you really Sean? Are you my Sean? Are you Mom’s child?" Hana asked. She immediately hugged Sean tightly, afraid that the boy was merely an illusion that would disappear at any moment.
Hana finally burst into tears.
"Sean... How did you get here? Where are your younger siblings?" she asked anxiously, momentarily forgetting everything she had just experienced.
Sean opened his mouth to speak, but his eyes immediately fell on Hana’s clothes.
"Mom, what happened to you?" Sean asked, his expression darkening.
