My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 27: My boss won’t die?
At the Xin Residence, Hans collapsed after drinking a cup of bitter coffee given to him by one of his subordinates.
He raised his head and looked at Greo, the subordinate he had trusted the most all this time.
"What do you mean, Greo?" Hans asked as he tried to stand. One of his hands rested against the edge of the table to support his body, which was beginning to lose its strength.
"Boss..." Greo’s voice trembled.
"I... I really didn’t mean for this to happen. I did this for... Boss..." Greo finally knelt in front of Hans.
Hans glared at him. His hand reached for the gun tucked inside his pocket.
"Bang!"
The bullet struck Greo’s arm. However, before Hans could do anything else, his body collapsed onto the floor again. White foam filled his mouth.
Greo hurriedly got back to his feet despite the pain spreading through his arm. "Prepare the car!" he shouted in panic.
Hans was quickly taken to a private hospital. The doctors Zahn had already arranged immediately treated him—his condition was critical. They surrounded him and rushed him into the operating room.
Greo waited outside the door with his body trembling. He reached for his phone, then called Zahn’s number.
Elsewhere, Zahn used a voice changer to make his voice sound like an adult.
"I already gave it to him. You’re sure, right? My boss won’t die?"
Zahn cleared his throat softly. "You did exactly as I instructed? If so, he’ll survive. Don’t worry. I’ll fly to Melvin City tomorrow morning. His condition should still be fine."
Greo nodded quickly. "Yes, exactly as you asked. I didn’t hide anything about the poisoning either."
Zahn smiled in satisfaction. "Clear the hospital tomorrow morning." He turned to his two brothers. Sean and Kevin nodded simultaneously.
"Prepare a hidden residence. Somewhere difficult to reach and far from anyone’s surveillance."
"Yes, Sir. But about the medicine..."
"I’ll bring it tomorrow. Your wife will be healthy until she grows old. You don’t need to worry about her illness."
"Sir, you’re not lying to me, are you?"
Zahn smiled mockingly. "If my medicine can’t cure her, there’s no one else in this world who can. Except my teacher."
Greo nodded quickly before ending the call. He then looked at Hans’s subordinates, who were now waiting for his instructions.
"Guard this room carefully. Boss will survive if you take good care of him. I’ll return and handle whatever remains of Boss’s business that can still be saved."
Hans’s subordinates nodded.
Greo was Hans’s right-hand man. None of them knew that Greo was the one who had caused Hans to end up in this condition.
"Is it done?" Kevin asked.
Zahn nodded. "Get ready. We’re leaving first thing tomorrow morning. An even bigger mess is waiting for us before we bring our now-poor Dad back to Mom."
Sean, who was sitting beside him, simply nodded in satisfaction. He then moved his cursor a few times until his computer screen turned off.
Kevin typed the final line of code before shutting his computer down as well.
The two of them stood up and hurried out of the room. Zahn followed behind them with a bright smile.
"Are you done playing?" Jexy asked, now sitting in the living room and reading a book.
Kevin nodded. "Yes. The game was boring. Our opponents were too weak."
Zahn chimed in. "My opponent was pathetic too. He’s almost dead now. Really weak."
Sean shook his head. "Mine wasn’t challenging either. I only had to move the cursor, and the stock market collapsed. Boring."
Jexy placed her book on the table, then looked at the three of them suspiciously. "What exactly were you playing?"
"Just a children’s game," Kevin replied casually.
"Grandma," Kevin finally said as he approached Jexy. "We’re leaving tomorrow morning."
He stopped in front of Jexy, then added in a low voice, "Keep our secret from Mom. We’ll soon bring our fathers back, who will finally be what Mom wants."
Jexy picked Kevin up and placed him on her lap. "You’re going to Melvin City again?"
"That’s right," Sean answered, now leaning against the wall. "We’ve taken care of everything ourselves, so Grandma doesn’t need to worry."
Jexy sighed. Her gaze moved from Sean, to Kevin, and then to Zahn. "Do you need Grandma to come with you?"
"No need," the three of them answered at the same time.
"Why?"
"We just want to play. It won’t take long. If Grandma comes with us, we won’t be able to enjoy ourselves, Grandma," Zahn replied.
Jexy stared at Zahn for a few moments before finally nodding. "Alright. But remember—you’re still children in the eyes of the world, even if your minds are different. Be careful."
"Understood, Grandma," the three answered simultaneously.
The three of them then hurried out of the house and returned to Hana’s rented home. They took the backpacks that had been placed in the corner of the wardrobe.
The bags were limited editions from a famous brand on the Melvin Continent. However, because they had no visible brand markings, Hana simply thought they were cheap bags her three children had bought from the market. She had even carelessly left them in the corner of the wardrobe.
There were already spider webs clinging to all three bags.
If Hana knew how much they were worth, she would have been shocked out of her mind. Even Hana’s entire year’s salary would not have been enough to buy a single one of those bags.
"Alright, let’s sleep first. My people will pick us up in seven hours," Sean said after putting all his spare clothes into his bag.
He lay his small body down on the bed, followed by his two brothers.
Elsewhere, Hana was calmly finishing her dinner without saying a single word.
In front of her, Brandon, wearing a thin shirt, was reading a report from his subordinates about Hana. "So the three children I met back then are yours."
Brandon smiled. "Hana... those children are handsome. But I’m sure we’ll have even more handsome children in the future," he said confidently.
Hana, who could no longer stand listening to Brandon say things like that, as if she had already agreed to become his mistress, finally threw her spoon at him.
"Brandon, how many times do I have to tell you? I’m not going to be your mistress. I already have three obedient children. Don’t try to separate me from them."
The Brandon’s subordinates standing behind Hana immediately wiped the cold sweat from their faces.
Their master was a powerful man on the Melvin Continent. Yet throughout the entire day, the girl they considered foolish in front of them had done nothing but cause trouble.
Even Laila, the woman their master was going to marry, would never dare to act like this.
Brandon picked up Hana’s spoon, then waved his hand. "Get her a new spoon," he said casually.
"Brandon! We’ve already broken up! Let me leave this place!"
Brandon stood up from his chair, then hugged Hana from behind. "Hana... without my permission, you won’t be able to leave my side anymore. You’re going to be my woman. So stop causing trouble."
