My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered

Chapter 269: The forge of the first light

  • Next Chapter

The crimson rift parted like a tearing wound across existence, spilling the celestial-jade citadel into a domain dominated by brutal, majestic scale.

Where the Nebular Archives were vast and tranquil, the Forge of First Light was an inferno of creation. Massive, floating anvils of stellar iron—each large enough to anchor a constellation—hovered within a churning ocean of liquid white star-fire. Colossal golden hammers, propelled by the raw kinetic weight of collapsing galaxies, slammed continuously against raw origin cores, spraying showers of blinding cosmic sparks across the crimson vacuum.

THUMMM— CLANG—

The rhythmic, deafening thunder of the celestial forge vibrated directly through the citadel’s hull, rattling the heavy dark-iron broadsword strapped to Vetra’s back.

"Now this is a proper domain!" Vetra roared over the echo of the hammers, her crimson dragon-eyes flashing with wild excitement as she gripped the railing. "No dusty books or floating glass—just hot metal and raw power!"

"The ambient temperature outside exceeds forty million degrees," Elena warned crisply from the central console, though her fingers moved across her slate without a hint of distress. "Dimensional shielding is holding at ninety-eight percent. The extreme heat is being captured and converted directly into auxiliary power for our weapon arrays."

Solaria stood beside Vince’s throne, her crimson silk dress rustling in the warm, ambient pressure that seeped through the bridge seals. Her hands rested over her chest, feeling the deep, reassuring pulse of her twilight mark.

"In the Solari texts, the Forge was described as the sacred anvil where the creator gods hammered out the first stars," Solaria murmured, her golden eyes reflecting the sea of white star-fire below. "To see it reduced to a industrial factory for outer conquest... it is breathtaking and terrifying."

"It’s not terrifying," Lyrielle spoke softly, her silver hair shimmering as she stood by the forward viewport with her elder-wood bow resting at her side. "Because the one who wields the ultimate hammer is sitting behind us."

Vince remained relaxed upon his obsidian throne. His dark velvet cloak draped over the arms of the seat, and his dark amethyst eyes casually surveyed the colossal stellar anvils. Barnaby was curled happily against his chest, her translucent fingers playing with a small ember of white star-fire that had drifted into the bridge, completely immunized against its heat by Vince’s absolute domain.

Before the citadel could advance deeper toward the central anvil, the ocean of liquid star-fire below violently parted.

CRASH—

A towering tsunami of white heat erupted outward as a monolithic figure rose from the flaming depths. Standing five thousand feet tall, forged entirely from black stellar iron and clad in interlocking plates of molten gold, was the Architect of Iron.

In his right hand, he held a colossal war-hammer that burned with the concentrated density of a dying supergiant star. A single, blazing furnace of crimson flame served as his face, glowing behind a heavy, grated iron visor. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

"WHO DARES TREAD UPON THE SANCTIFIED ANVILS OF THE PROGENITOR COUNCIL?" the Architect’s voice boomed, carrying a kinetic shockwave that caused the liquid star-fire to billow wildly. "I AM THE ARCHITECT OF IRON. I HAVE FORGED REALMS FROM NOTHINGNESS AND SHATTERED REBELLIOUS STARS. YOUR INTRUSION ENDS HERE, UNREGISTERED SOVEREIGN!"

The Architect raised his colossal war-hammer high into the crimson sky. Thousands of golden runes burned to life along the iron shaft, drawing upon the absolute kinetic heat of the entire Forge.

"BE CRUSHED UPON THE ANVIL OF ORIGIN!"

The Architect brought the hammer down with world-shattering force, aiming a strike directly at the bow of the celestial-jade citadel. The kinetic pressure alone began to warp space, forming a localized collapse that threatened to flatten the ship into a pancake of crushed matter.

"Sovereign Vince!" Solaria cried out, her solar blade igniting in her hand as she stepped defensively in front of the throne.

"Stay your hand, Solaria," Vince commanded, his voice a low, soothing baritone that instantly stilled the air on the bridge.

Vince didn’t rise from his throne. He didn’t even shift his posture. He simply raised his left hand, turning his palm upward toward the descending mega-hammer, and closed his long fingers into a tight, possessive fist.

CRACK-BOOM—

The five-thousand-foot war-hammer of stellar iron stopped dead in mid-air—exactly three inches above the citadel’s forward shield.

The kinetic shockwave was completely canceled. The white star-fire clinging to the hammer was instantly snuffed out, replaced by a suffocating coat of dark, purple-black twilight authority that spread rapidly up the shaft like a malignant frost.

The Architect’s crimson furnace-visor flared in sheer, unadulterated shock. "WHAT?! MY HAMMER... THE KINETIC FORCE OF A HUNDRED STARS... ABSOLUTELY NEUTRALIZED?!"

"Your hammer is heavy," Vince spoke smoothly, his velvet voice ringing clearly across the entire Forge. "But you are trying to strike the sky."

Vince flicked his wrist downward.

BOOM—

The dark twilight authority coating the war-hammer violently imploded. The five-thousand-foot weapon of progenitor stellar iron shattered into millions of jagged black fragments that rained uselessly into the sea of star-fire below.

The Architect gasped, stumbling backward as the sudden loss of momentum threw his towering frame off balance. "MY... MY HOLY WEAPON...!"

"Vetra," Vince murmured, his dark amethyst eyes turning toward the dragon-kin enforcer. "He seems fond of heavy metal. Go show him how a dragon handles an anvil."

Vetra let out a wild, fierce laugh that echoed across the bridge. She unhooked her dark-iron broadsword from her back, her crimson-gold dragon aura exploding around her in a towering pillar of draconic fire that easily rivaled the heat of the Forge itself.

"With pleasure, Vince!" Vetra shouted, turning on her heel and launching herself through the forward deployment hatch.

Out in the open air of the Forge, Vetra flew like a crimson meteor straight toward the giant’s iron chest. Channeling the absolute power of Vince’s domain that burned within her origin matrix, her dark-iron broadsword expanded ten-thousand-fold into a massive blade of deep crimson twilight energy.

"Take this, you oversized piece of scrap metal!" Vetra roared, bringing her broadsword across in a blinding, horizontal cleave.

SLASH—

The Architect of Iron didn’t even have time to raise his massive hands. The crimson twilight blade cleaved clean through his molten golden chest armor, severing his central core furnace in a single, devastating strike.

"NOOOO...! THE PROGENITOR COUNCIL... WILL NEVER ACCEPT... THIS...!"

The giant’s molten body fractured into glowing ley-lines before collapsing headfirst into the sea of star-fire, causing a final, massive eruption of white sparks that slowly settled into total silence.

Vetra landed back on the forward deck of the citadel, slinging her broadsword over her shoulder with a broad, sharp-fanged grin. "All done, Vince! Clean and simple!"

Inside the bridge, Elena checked her slate, a smooth, approving smile gracing her face. "The Forge’s primary origin core is completely unencumbered. We now control the central manufacturing hub of the Progenitor realms."

Solaria let out a slow breath, sheathing her solar blade as she turned back to Vince, her eyes shining with absolute, intoxicating devotion. "Another domain fallen before your feet, Sovereign Vince."

Vince leaned back into his obsidian throne, pulling Barnaby closer against his side as his arm wrapped around her waist. His gaze swept over his devoted consorts—Vetra glowing with battle heat, Lyrielle smiling softly, Elena executing seamless administrative takeover, and Solaria looking up at him with unyielding love.

"The Forge is ours," Vince declared, his dark velvet voice carrying a heavy, possessive warmth. "Elena, prepare the citadel to dock. It’s time for my harem to rest—and receive their proper rewards."
