My Taming System Makes Me Overpowered
Chapter 230: Hold of absolute law
The silence inside the Sanctum’s central chamber was absolute.
The Archon Gatekeeper pressed his back against the marble throne, his breath coming in ragged, shallow gasps. His hands, still covered in the grey dust of his shattered master staff, trembled violently as Vince looked down at him with cold, unblinking eyes.
"You... you don’t understand what you are asking," the Gatekeeper stammered, his high-tier composure completely shattered. "The Hold of Absolute Law is not a lower-realm fortress! It is protected by the Absolute Law Seal—a cosmic boundary woven from the collective authority of the Six Sovereigns. Even if you kill me, you cannot force the portal open without a Sovereign’s true divine signature! Stepping into that threshold without permission is a death sentence!"
"I didn’t ask for a warning," Vince said smoothly. "I asked for the vector."
Vince extended two fingers, lightly tapping the center of the Gatekeeper’s forehead.
TAP.
The Gatekeeper didn’t even have time to scream. Vince didn’t cast an intrusive mind-reading spell; he simply applied Rank Severance directly to the executor’s celestial mental shields. The protective runes safeguarding the Gatekeeper’s mind crumbled like dry leaves, exposing the raw spatial coordinates, activation sequences, and dimensional frequency of the Hold’s entrance.
Information flooded into Vince’s consciousness in a fraction of a second.
Barnaby, floating at his shoulder, nodded as she processed the extracted data. "Got it. The Hold is anchored three thousand miles into the sub-dimensional layer directly above us. He wasn’t lying about the seal, though—it’s a six-fold lock tied directly to the Sovereigns’ personal authority."
"A lock built by lower-tier gods," Vince replied, withdrawing his fingers as the Gatekeeper collapsed sideways onto the cold marble floor, unconscious and completely drained.
Vince turned toward the floating central console that controlled the Sanctum’s regional displacement arrays. With the Gatekeeper neutralized, the entire station’s infrastructure was now subordinate to Vince’s localized Absolute Domain.
He placed his palm on the central crystal interface. The light-blue displacement energy, which had died moments ago, flickered back to life—not as a pale blue flame, but as a deep, luminous black-gold current that instantly overwrote the Sanctum’s master systems.
"Reversing spatial lock," Vince murmured.
THUM—!
A column of dense black-gold light erupted in the center of the chamber. Space folded inward with a soft, harmonic chime, and as the light faded, the cylindrical crystalline stasis cage from the Spire’s apex appeared in the middle of the room.
Inside, Elena and Vetra stood tall.
Vince didn’t wait for the cage’s automated release sequence. He simply waved his left hand horizontally.
CRACK-SHATTER!
The "indestructible" celestial quartz cage, designed to siphon divine entities, fractured into millions of harmless, glittering specks of light before evaporating into thin air.
Vetra immediately rolled her shoulders, her silver-veined dragon scales glowing with a intense, fiery warmth as her full strength returned. She stepped over the shattered quartz remnants, a fierce, razor-sharp grin spreading across her face as her golden eyes locked onto Vince.
"Took you long enough," Vetra grunted, though her voice carried a clear edge of relief and pride as she took in his altered appearance. Her amber gaze lingered on the deep, calm void of his amethyst eyes. "Look at you. You actually did it. You look like you’re ready to break the world in half."
Elena stepped up beside her, adjusting an invisible pair of spectacles out of habit before flashing a soft, knowing smile. The golden lattice woven into her mana circuits hummed with immense, condensed power.
"We felt the shift through the tether, Vince," Elena said calmly, her voice smooth and steady. "The moment you unbound your core in the pocket realm, the stasis array inside the Spire stopped draining us entirely. We’ve been converting their extraction matrix into compressed mana the entire time. Vetra and I are at peak capacity."
She gestured toward the spatial mirrors hovering near the console.
"While we were trapped, I analyzed the Spire’s internal data feed," Elena continued, her eyes sharpening into tactical focus. "The Six Sovereigns aren’t unified. Two of them—the Sovereign of Stasis and the Sovereign of Iron—are maintaining the core seal of the Hold. The other four are preparing a regional erasure array to wipe out the entire province below if the Sanctum falls. If you breach the Hold now, you’ll catch them while their authority is divided."
"Good," Vince said, looking at both of them. "I’m turning the Sanctum over to you two. Lock down this station, cut the provincial arrays, and make sure no lower-realm reinforcements interfere from behind."
Vetra slammed her fist into her palm, her knuckles popping with crackling dragon-fire. "Consider it done. Anyone who tries to climb up here gets thrown straight into the void."
"Be careful up there, Vince," Elena added softly, her golden eyes meeting his with unshakeable trust. "Show them what true authority looks like."
Vince gave them a quiet nod, then turned and walked out onto the high, open balcony of the Sanctum.
The bitter wind of the upper atmosphere whipped against Vince’s dark coat as he stood at the edge of the balcony, looking up into the sky.
Three thousand miles above, obscured behind layers of dimensional distortion and thick, churning golden clouds, hung the hidden threshold of the Hold of Absolute Law.
Barnaby floated beside him, her ethereal form glowing brightly against the dark expanse of space. "The Absolute Law Seal is active, Vince. It’s waiting for a Sovereign’s signature to verify access. How do you want to handle it?"
Vince didn’t draw a sword. He didn’t construct a Mirage Matrix. He didn’t even gather energy to strike the barrier.
He simply stepped off the balcony, floating into the open sky as his Inward Absolute Domain expanded outward, asserting his unhindered authority over the sub-dimensional layer above.
He reached out his right hand toward the sky, his fingers curling slightly as if grasping the invisible fabric of reality itself.
"I don’t need their signature," Vince spoke, his voice echoing across the upper atmosphere with a profound, terrifying resonance. "My presence is the permission."
He pulled his hand back.
"Rank Severance: World Unwriting."
BOOM-CRACK—!
The sky above the Sanctum didn’t just open—it shattered like a sheet of dark, frozen glass.
A three-mile-wide tear ripped through the atmospheric fabric, completely obliterating the six-fold Absolute Law Seal in a single, silent instant. The golden celestial runes guarding the dimensional threshold didn’t detonate or resist; they turned grey, rusted, and crumbled into inert dust before being swept away into the void.
Through the massive, jagged tear in reality, the hidden interior of the Hold of Absolute Law was laid bare for the first time in millennia.
Floating within a pristine, star-lit realm were six colossal, white marble monoliths, surrounding a central palace forged from pure, translucent law-crystal—the realm of the Six Sovereigns.
Inside the central palace, six massive thrones stood atop a grand dais.
Simultaneously, six pairs of glowing, ancient eyes snapped open in sheer, unadulterated shock. The massive golden bell hanging above the Obelisk of Absolute Law began to toll violently on its own—a frantic, deep chime that signaled an existential breach.
GONNNNG! GONNNNG! GONNNNG!
The Six Sovereigns stood up from their thrones in unison, their oppressive, celestial pressure flaring up to maximum capacity as they looked toward the shattered entrance of their sanctuary.
Floating in the center of the ruined gateway, his dark coat shifting smoothly in the cosmic void, Vince stepped into their realm.
His amethyst eyes burned with a cold, absolute light as he looked down at the six primeval rulers of the Upper Realm.
"I hear you’ve been looking for me," Vince said softly, his voice echoing through the pristine halls of the Hold. "Here I am."
