I waited.

For one day, then another, and another after that.

The Middle Demi-God remained inside his mountain residence throughout the entire period, and I did not become impatient. I simply stayed hidden within the surrounding Space, observing him whenever he emerged and carefully studying the fluctuations of his Origin.

Nine days passed in this manner, and during that time I gradually became more familiar with his habits. He rarely left his residence, and whenever he did, it was usually only to observe the enormous city spread across the plains beneath his mountain. Nothing about his behavior suggested that he suspected someone was watching him.

On the morning of the tenth day, however, something finally changed.

The man stepped out of his palace alone and floated above the mountain range, his silver wings folded neatly behind him as he looked down at the enormous city below.

From my hidden position, I watched him remain there for several moments, seemingly enjoying the sight of the countless creatures living beneath him. A faint smile appeared on his face, and for a moment he looked less like a powerful Middle Demi-God and more like an ordinary ruler quietly observing his territory.

Then he took a single step.

His body vanished.

There was no burst of energy and no obvious spatial ripple that an ordinary Demi-God could have followed, but my perception immediately caught the faint fluctuation left behind by his movement. I followed it without hesitation, using my own Space Origin to track the path he had taken.

He moved incredibly quickly.

One moment he was several million kilometers away, and the next his spatial fluctuation appeared somewhere much farther ahead. He continued repeating the process, stepping through Space again and again without slowing down. Each movement was smooth and precise, with almost no wasted energy, and as I followed him I began to understand why his Space Origin had caught my attention.

His control was excellent.

Based on the strength and stability of the spatial fluctuations he left behind, I estimated that his Space Origin resonance was probably around forty percent.

A faint smile appeared on my face.

Forty percent Space Origin.

This man was becoming more interesting by the second.

I continued following him without revealing myself, but after several consecutive spatial jumps, I noticed something strange. His destination did not appear to be another city, another territory, or any location belonging to the other Demi-Gods. Instead, he was moving toward an almost completely deserted region of the galaxy filled with scattered asteroids and broken celestial debris.

I frowned slightly.

What was he doing here?

He made another spatial jump and disappeared into the asteroid field.

I followed.

At first, I found nothing unusual. The asteroid cluster looked completely ordinary, with countless rocks drifting through the darkness at different speeds. Then the man suddenly stopped, and a faint spatial ripple appeared several kilometers ahead of him.

A hidden pocket dimension opened.

He stepped inside.

I waited for a moment before following.

The instant I crossed the boundary, an enormous pressure crashed down upon me.

My expression changed.

The pressure was so intense that even my body instinctively reacted. It was not the aura of another Demi-God, but something much older and far more primitive. Space itself seemed to have become extremely dense inside this pocket dimension, and the surrounding Laws were distorted by an overwhelming spatial presence that had existed here for an unimaginable length of time.

I slowly raised my head.

Then I saw it.

A gigantic skeleton was floating in the center of the pocket dimension.

For several seconds, I simply stared.

It was the skeleton of a bird.

But calling it a bird felt almost insulting.

The sheer size of the bones was beyond my understanding. I was not even comparable to one of its claws. A single bone was larger than entire mountain ranges, while its enormous wings stretched across the pocket dimension like two silver continents. Every bone radiated a brilliant silver glow, and terrifying fluctuations of Space Origin continuously spread from them.

The pressure I had felt upon entering this place was coming from that skeleton.

I narrowed my eyes.

What kind of creature had left behind something like this?

The Middle Demi-God flew toward the skeleton, and the moment he reached its front, his human body began changing.

His flesh expanded.

His bones transformed.

His silver wings grew larger and larger until they covered the surrounding Space, while his body rapidly became covered in silver feathers. His head elongated, his claws emerged, and within moments the middle-aged man had disappeared completely.

In his place stood an enormous silver Roc.

Even in his true form, however, he looked tiny compared to the ancient skeleton before him.

The Roc slowly lowered his body and lay down in front of the giant skeleton.

Then something astonishing happened.

The silver glow surrounding the ancient bones began moving.

At first, only a faint strand of silver Essence separated from one of the bones, drifting slowly toward the Roc. Then another appeared, followed by dozens, hundreds, and eventually thousands of streams of silver Essence.

They flowed from the skeleton into the Roc’s body. The moment the Essence entered him, his aura began rising.

His Space Origin fluctuated violently.

I watched carefully, and realization slowly dawned on me. He was not visiting this place for leisure.

He was cultivating.

That ancient skeleton was some kind of inheritance. More importantly, the silver Essence contained within those bones was incredibly pure Space Origin.

My eyes narrowed as I watched the Roc absorb it.

So this was the reason his Space Origin had reached around forty percent.

He had been using this ancient skeleton to continuously strengthen his comprehension.

I remained hidden in the darkness, watching the silver Essence pour into his body.

A strange feeling appeared in my chest.

Excitement.

I had spent days waiting for an opportunity to kill him, but now I had discovered something far more valuable than I had expected.

The Roc had brought himself to a place filled with an enormous amount of pure Space Origin.

And he had no idea that I had followed him here.

I looked at the gigantic skeleton again.

Then at the silver Roc lying beneath it.

A faint smile appeared on my face.

Perhaps waiting nine days had been the best decision I could have made.
