Chapter 443: Still Have a Trump Card?
Chapter 443: Chapter 200: Still Have a Trump Card?
About an hour later, Chen Yu and Wu Wudi left the villa.
Stepping out of the villa, Chen Yu looked at Wu Wudi.
“What is it? Do you find this a little strange?”
Wu Wudi asked as they walked.
Chen Yu nodded noncommittally.
That a Venerable from the Daluo Star System would come to congratulate him was something Chen Yu had never expected.
After all, he really couldn’t think of any connection between this place and the Daluo Star System.
Even in the Outer Domain, he had only briefly met a few people from the Central Empire.
As for the Daluo Star System, he had only heard of it, never seen it for himself.
While the news of his ascension to True God was significant, it likely wasn’t significant enough to reach the Daluo Star System, countless light-years away.
‘Is it because of Wu Wudi’s personal connections?’
Various thoughts flashed through Chen Yu’s mind.
But even though he had his suspicions, he remained outwardly impassive.
Wu Wudi continued speaking as they walked, “Zhou Tian and I have a personal connection, so it’s perfectly normal for him to come and congratulate you.”
“Secondly, you were likely noticed during your ascension. He didn’t come all the way from the Daluo Star System; he came from the Outer Domain.”
‘The Outer Domain battlefield…’
Hearing Wu Wudi’s words, Chen Yu’s gaze sharpened.
If he was on the Outer Domain battlefield, then it would make sense.
After all, the Divine Tribulation had caused a massive disturbance.
At the time, he hadn’t had the spare energy to notice his surroundings. Considering that, plus Wu Wudi’s personal connection, it wasn’t so strange for someone to come and offer congratulations.
“Don’t overthink it. His coming to congratulate you is a gesture of goodwill. Meeting more people will be helpful to you later on. Should you run into some powerful trouble, you might have one more ally to call on.”
Wu Wudi said calmly.
Hearing this, Chen Yu’s eyes narrowed. “Senior, are you referring to the Celestial Race?”
Wu Wudi’s expression was placid, showing no change. Hearing Chen Yu’s question, he continued walking nonchalantly. “The Celestial Race isn’t what I’d call a major problem. They’re just difficult to deal with. But if it truly came down to a fight, it’s not like we couldn’t handle them.”
His words sent a shock through Chen Yu.
From the way Wu Wudi spoke, he didn’t seem to regard the Celestial Race as a major threat.
This was a race that surpassed the majority of races in the Celestial River Star System.
‘Does the Human Race already have a way to stand against the Celestial Race?!’
A storm of thoughts raged in Chen Yu’s mind. Looking at Wu Wudi, he was utterly baffled.
‘The Celestial Race has a Great Emperor.’
‘The strongest person in the Human Race right now is Wu Wudi. Could it be… that the Firmament Emperor never actually died?’
At this thought, Chen Yu’s expression flickered.
As if sensing Chen Yu’s thoughts, Wu Wudi stopped and looked at him. “Although our Human Race has no Great Emperor, it wouldn’t be so easy for even a Great Emperor to annihilate us.”
Chen Yu’s mind raced. “Senior, does this mean the Firmament Emperor isn’t actually dead?”
Hearing this, Wu Wudi glanced at him. “The Great Emperor did indeed fall. It’s just… there are other factors at play.”
“‘Other factors?'” Chen Yu was taken aback.
‘Without a Great Emperor to counter another Great Emperor, what could possibly give Wu Wudi such confidence?’
‘What kind of trump card do they have?!’
“Don’t even think about entering the Underworld Cosmos in the future. That’s no place for someone at your current level of strength.”
Wu Wudi didn’t elaborate, changing the subject instead.
Hearing this, Chen Yu didn’t press the issue and simply nodded.
‘Now that he knew the Demon Heaven Emperor was still alive, entering the Underworld Cosmos was out of the question.’
‘After all, the gap between him and a Great Emperor was still immense.’
‘A True God is a Venerable in the cosmos!’
‘And a Great Emperor… is the Venerable of Venerables!’
He was at least self-aware enough to understand that.
“Rest for today. Tomorrow, Bai Ningshuang will take you to meet the other Alien Race Venerables. You can bring one or two people along. These Venerables are all allies of the Human Race. Since they’ve come all this way, it’s only right for you, as the host, to meet them.”
Wu Wudi said.
Chen Yu nodded.
Allies of the Human Race had come to congratulate him. As the man of the hour, it was imperative that he meet with them.
After all, every one of them was an Alien Race Venerable.
He had to show them proper courtesy.
…
After parting ways with Wu Wudi, Chen Yu returned to the villa that had been prepared for him.
He told Feng Miaotian about the plan, and she readily agreed to accompany him.
As for anyone else, Chen Yu didn’t bother asking them. It was just a meet-and-greet, nothing too important.
After a night’s rest in the villa, Chen Yu, along with Feng Miaotian and Bai Ningshuang, set out early in the morning to visit the Alien Race Venerables one by one.
The Human Race had many allies in the Celestial River Star System—over a hundred of them.
And nearly every one of these allied races had sent a Venerable to attend.
The tour of visits took a full three days to complete.
By the end, Chen Yu had gained a clear understanding of the Human Race’s current allies.
These allied Alien Races varied in strength.
The strong, like the Angel Race, had multiple True God Venerables, while the weaker ones still had one or two Venerables.
Overall, there was a clear disparity in power.
Of course, Chen Yu didn’t show any favoritism in his enthusiasm.
Whether they were strong or weak, he treated them all with the same courtesy.
In addition to these Alien Race Venerables, many Venerables from within the Human Race also came to visit, and Chen Yu met with each of them.
He met with them all, regardless of whether they had past grievances with him or not.
Now that he was a Human Race Venerable and had reached the pinnacle of power, he had a broader perspective on the internal conflicts within the race.
As long as they weren’t part of some Evil God cult, he could let bygones be bygones.
A Venerable, after all, should have the magnanimity befitting their station.
He had no time to waste on dealing with such internal strife.
The only exception would be for those who colluded with enemy Alien Races.
But he didn’t need to worry about that; Feng Miaotian and the others had long since purged anyone who had colluded with their enemies.
The Human Race today, while not a perfect monolith, was almost completely united when it came to dealing with hostile Alien Races.
—
Several days passed in a flash, and the start of the God Ascension Ceremony drew near.
The Capital City became unprecedentedly lively and prosperous.
These allied Alien Races hadn’t come alone.
They had all brought entourages with them.
Alien Races could be seen sightseeing all over the Capital City.
As for security, it was, of course, under the complete control of the Human Race.
But at a critical juncture like this, no one would be foolish enough to cause trouble.
All traces of the Evil God cults had long since vanished.
Even if any members remained, they could only lay dormant, far from the city.
The Capital City was currently the site of a grand gathering of Venerables.
The slightest disturbance would be enough to get them utterly annihilated.
…
「Ancestor Star, Qing City.」
In the wilderness outside the towering city walls, Chen Yu stood atop a mountain, his gaze fixed on Qing City in the distance.
Several years had passed, yet Qing City remained as it was. Nothing had changed.
Well, to say there were *some* changes would also be true.
The Aberrant Beasts were gone.
This wasn’t just a phenomenon in Qing City; it was the case across most of the planet.
The Aberrant Beasts had been controlled by Alien Races. Now, with countless Venerables having descended upon Ancestor Star, the planet had been cleared out well in advance.
Any remaining Aberrant Beasts were now confined to the worlds within the space-time gates.
Gazing at Qing City, Chen Yu’s gaze flickered.
He recalled when he had first arrived, a mere wanderer back then.
If he hadn’t met the members of the Qing City Mercenary Team, he would have likely faced a great deal of trouble.
“I wonder how they’re doing now…” Chen Yu murmured. Looking at Qing City, his immense Divine Thought instantly spread out, enveloping the entire city from top to bottom.
