My Taboo Harem!

Chapter 1427: Genesis Descent: Immeasurable Sea of Stars!

  • Next Chapter

The night above Hell’s Paradise Island had ceased behaving like night.

It had become a phenomenon in its own right, a vast and breathtaking transformation stretched from one horizon to the other until even people who knew nothing of cultivation could have stepped outside, lifted their faces toward the heavens and understood with instinctive certainty that the world was behaving differently.

The change was of greater serenity; it touched everything without harming anything, and the entire island seemed to have entered the kind of silence that came when creation itself wished to listen.

Billions upon billions of stars crowded the heavens until darkness struggled to find enough room between them. Every point of light burned brighter than nature should have allowed, some blazing in immaculate white, others in pale gold, silver, faint blue or deep amber, while entire constellations that should have been lost beyond distance suddenly stood sharp enough to be counted with naked eyes.

Their combined brilliance poured downward across Hell’s Paradise Island in such abundance that artificial illumination almost became unnecessary.

Roads remained visible from end to end while rooftops glimmered beneath celestial light. Towers like Infinity Chaos stood outlined against a sky far grander than anything human hands had ever constructed, the countless windows and lights reduced to little sparks beneath an immeasurable sea of stars.

The heavens seemed closer; the distance remained impossible to reach yet the entire sky carried the intimate nearness of something immense bending low enough to look upon the island.

Beyond the city itself— Hell’s Paradise Lake had become an impossible mirror of reflection.

Its enormous surface rested beneath the stars with unnatural stillness. Aquatic life continued moving within its depths, yet nothing disturbed the water enough to break what had formed above it.

Every star in the sky possessed a twin beneath the world on the surface of the lake now as every pale-gold constellation was reflected so perfectly that the line separating sky from water became difficult to find. The lake no longer resembled a body of water beneath heaven but another heaven had been laid across the island like a second cosmos spread flat beneath the first until Hell’s Paradise rested between two infinite skies.

Where the river flowed from the lake, even moving water had changed its temperament.

The current continued onward, but with a strange and stately grace, carrying long ribbons of starlight across its surface while pale mist drifted above it touched now by the World Essence.

Golden radiance moved through that mist in threads thin enough to resemble spun sunlight, and wherever those strands touched the water, tiny luminous ripples travelled outward before dissolving into the night.

The Endless Forest beyond had lost the oppressive darkness that usually swallowed it after sunset.

Ancient trees stood brighter beneath the transformed heavens, their crowns painted in silver, amber and gold while leaves carrying centuries of accumulated Essence trembled beneath the arrival of something they had never known before. Green deepened until the forest seemed newly born. Moss along immense trunks gained a faint inner glow. Spirit flowers hidden beneath roots opened despite the hour, their petals turning toward the sky as though dawn had arrived from the wrong direction.

Even trees that had not borne fruit in hundreds of years began pushing out tiny luminous buds, each one drinking greedily from the World Essence now threaded through the air.

The Emerald Abyss had also received the same blessing as the golden sky light spilled through it into it.

The forest chasm remained terrible in scale, its depths still devouring ordinary sight long before the bottom could be imagined, yet thin rivers of white-gold radiance now traced along its edges and slipped through cracks that had not known light for ages.

Darkness remained, but it no longer felt untouched.

The abyss of trees seemed to breathe beneath the illumination, taking gold into itself and returning a stillness far older and far more attentive than before.

Hell’s Paradise Island itself had changed.

That was what almost nobody truly understood.

Cultivators could sense the obvious differences easily enough. Mana had become purer. Essence flowed more freely and more pure and potent. World Essence now existed within currents that had never contained it, and the spiritual richness of the island had risen within minutes by an amount that would have taken lesser sacred lands generations to accumulate.

Yet the deeper change had nothing to do with quantity.

The island had breathed!

When Phei’s World Essence flooded outward and the Primordial Lotus spread its blessing across the land, something buried deep within Hell’s Paradise Island had answered. Mountains, rivers, forests, mineral veins and the immense body of the island seemed to inhale together.

Golden Essence entered places that had never carried it before. Mana moved aside without resistance. Void and Void-Ice threaded naturally beside those new currents, while something old within the island opened itself to the change with an almost frightening willingness.

It welcomed the Genesis.

Strange wonders began appearing everywhere.

Flowers that ordinarily waited for dawn opened beneath the stars and filled hidden valleys with fragrance. Spirit herbs buried beneath centuries of leaves of the Endless Forest pushed upward through the soil and turned their stems toward the heavens. Golden motes gathered over rivers, sank beneath their surfaces and disappeared into depths where spiritual fish began stirring restlessly. Forgotten mineral veins far underground awakened and started drawing Essence through stone. Buds formed where branches had remained barren for generations, while small beasts emerged from burrows into the boundary between the outer and inner layers of the Endless Forest only to sit motionless beneath the celestial night and stare upward with instincts too young to understand what they were witnessing.

Most of these wonders happened unseen.

None of them compared with the existence floating beneath the heavens.

Someone stood up there.

And describing him was becoming increasingly difficult.

The white-gold radiance filling the sky did not simply fall upon Phei.

It came from him.

World Essence flowed through Hell’s Paradise Island because it had first poured from his body. The golden threads newly woven through rivers, forests and mountains carried the mark of the power still surging through his veins. The Primordial Lotus had been hidden from unwanted eyes, yet within that concealment its celestial light continued bathing the Young Dragon in brilliance vast enough to make the stars surrounding it seem like ornaments.

Phei hovered far above the Endless Forest without anything covering his upper body now.

His shirt had been torn apart during the shapes unfolding behind him, leaving his torso exposed beneath the transformed night, and the body revealed beneath that celestial radiance seemed to have crossed the increasingly useless boundary between mortal beauty and something creation itself had shaped simply because it possessed the power to approach perfection.

Phei had always been absurdly beautiful.

This was something else.

The breadth of his shoulders, the sculpted lines of his chest and the powerful definition running down his abdomen; there was harmony in him now that looked almost deliberate, as if World Essence had passed through every portion of his form, examined what nature once created and quietly refined whatever remained imperfect.

His skin held a divine lustrous glow beneath the surrounding gold, while faint streams of World Essence still travelled beneath it in slow currents.

Even stillness had become different around him.

Phei possessed gravity.

It was not the crushing pressure of cultivation that forced weaker beings to kneel, nor the bloodline suppression of a superior Dragon looking down upon lesser ones.

This was something stranger.

The world seemed to arrange itself around him.

Standing within his presence created the disquieting impression that Phei occupied more meaning than the space surrounding him, that everything nearby had become scenery orbiting a center it had never realized existed. Sacredness gathered there. Life gathered there. Judgment gathered there.

World Essence moved toward him while starlight seemed brighter whenever it crossed the region his body occupied.

The feeling was not that Phei had become some distant god demanding worship.

It was far older and more intimate than that.

He felt like the place where something divine might once have begun, the first point from which grace, vitality and righteousness could have flowed outward before any living being invented words to describe them.

Then there were his wings!

Once they fully revealed themselves, almost everything else became secondary.
