My Taboo Harem!

Chapter 1395: Fate Can Fuck Itself!

Eira drew back only far enough to let the wet string of saliva between their mouths catch the light, her lips swollen and shining, and her tongue darted out once more to lick the taste of him from her lower lip before she smiled.

"Also," she whispered, still close enough for their breaths to mingle, "you’re the one who put me in there. Why should I get myself out?"

Phei gave her a look.

Eira rested her forehead against his, completely unrepentant. "I liked it."

"You liked being stuck in a pocket?"

"I liked you putting me there." Her voice dropped into exaggerated sweetness. "All assertive and domineering, locking your naughty little fairy away because she misbehaved. It’s so hot, Master. It makes me want to misbehave again just so you’ll punish m—"

Phei flicked her forehead.

Again.

"Ow!"

"You realize I put you in there because you needed uninterrupted sleep, right?" Phei asked. "There was no dark possessive fantasy. You were exhausted, your soul needed recovery and I gave you a fucking bedroom where nothing that could disturb you."

Eira rubbed her forehead with one hand while the other remained around his neck. "You can call it whatever makes you feel better."

Phei stared.

She nodded solemnly. "For I know what happened what the perverted thought that were going on in your mind as you did it."

"What happened is exactly what I just said."

"Mhm."

"Eira."

"Mhm."

Phei’s expression remained flat for another second before surrendering beneath a helpless smile.

There was absolutely no winning with this woman.

He slid both arms around her instead and pulled her properly against his chest. Eira’s teasing expression softened almost immediately, her body relaxed into him while Phei’s hand moved slowly along her back. His fingers passed carefully between the base of her wings, and they fluttered beneath his touch with a faint crystalline whisper.

"I really missed you," he murmured.

For several breaths, Eira simply remained there with her cheek against his shoulder and both arms wrapped around his neck. The familiar warmth of their bond rested quietly between them, and Phei found himself thinking about how many times during that year inside the Primordial Frozen Zone he had reached for it just to make sure she was still there.

Sleeping. Safe. Waiting.

Eira’s embrace tightened.

"I missed you too," she whispered, and thankfully the sincerity survived several whole seconds before her lips curved against his neck. "Although I’m still offended you came back this much hotter while I was unconscious. That’s extremely inconsiderate."

Phei snorted and pushed her face lightly away from his neck. "There she is."

Eira grinned.

Phei kept one arm around her waist while leaning back slightly against the couch. "Anyway, now that your daily quota of nonsense has been met, I need you for something."

"My nonsense has no quota."

"That is exactly what scares me."

Her grin widened.

Phei sighed before continuing. "First, I want you to meet my little sister."

Eira’s eyebrows rose immediately.

"And second..." Phei’s expression changed enough that the teasing gradually faded from hers. "The limitations on my Soul have been lifted far enough that I can finally take another Progenitor Soul."

Eira blinked once.

Then her lips curled.

"Mmm." She shifted lazily on his lap again, fingers playing with several strands of his white hair. "Enslaving another stupid soul and getting yourself another slave. Sounds hot~"

Phei shook his head.

"No, Eira." Something in his voice made her stop. "This isn’t going to be like Kyle."

Her gaze sharpened.

Phei’s hand rested against her waist, but the relaxed warmth in his face had slowly disappeared. What replaced it was something Eira had seen before, although rarely this calmly. The expression Phei wore when he had already decided something and the decision had travelled too deep for anyone else to move it.

"Kyle was useful," Phei said. "Taking his Soul gave me power, access and a slave Progenitor should’ve been completely beyond anything I could touch at the time. But he was still the underdog among their influence currently. This time I’m not going after someone because they’re convenient."

Eira studied him quietly now.

Phei’s smile returned.

It was not a particularly friendly one: "This time I’m going after someone who matters."

A faint darkness stirred behind his eyes as memories moved through him. Marcus. Danton. The two Legacy Families. Every plan built over centuries because people like them had convinced themselves their positions made them untouchable. Every time they moved first while Phei would be later forced to react afterward, cleaning up whichever disaster finally reached his family.

That arrangement had become boring.

Phei was done waiting for ancient bastards to finish setting the board before he was allowed to play.

"I’ve spent long enough watching them make moves while I handled whatever shit they threw at me," he continued. "They plan, they hide behind their estate; fucking Legacies especially Danton who wouldn’t dare to come at me, ancient bastard. Whatever rules they think protect them its time they realize I have moved past that stupid fear of not killing them. The fact that Fate itself got involved and tells me certain people can’t simply die because killing them would break some grand fucking law."

His smile widened slightly.

Eira’s own smile began returning. She knew that look.

Phei leaned closer, voice becoming almost conversational: "So fine." His fingers tapped once against her waist. "If Fate says I can’t kill a Legacy, then I won’t kill one."

Eira’s eyes gleamed.

Phei looked somewhere far beyond the lounge now, toward people who had absolutely no idea their night was about to become considerably worse.

"I’ll do something better."

Eira’s wings opened slowly behind her.

Phei’s smile became colder.

"I’ll take what they thought could never be taken. I’ll strip away the thing they believed made them untouchable, turn one Progenitors after another into mine and make sure every bastard finally understands what helpless actually feels like."

A quiet thrill moved across Eira’s expression.

Phei had spent too long being the target.

That part of the story was over.

"And if some ancient law of Fate wants to stand between me and them," he added, his voice almost cheerful again, "then I’m going to look Fate directly in the eyes and tell it to go fuckitself."
