My Taboo Harem!
Chapter 1211: Arnactica: Time of the Legacies’s of Arrival
"That is blind confidence and trust, Master." Eira said it with enough flatness to make the accusation land properly, though a moment later she shook her head, conceding the point before Phei could defend himself:
"But... you are right."
The storm screamed around them, reducing the far reaches of the wasteland to a shifting kingdom of white.
Another frozen celestial mass tore through the cloud ceiling far above, large enough to resemble a mountain ripped loose from some dead moon, its descent wrapped in blue-white vapor before it vanished somewhere beyond the glacial ridges. Several breaths later, the horizon convulsed beneath an impact that sent fractured ice climbing into the heavens— a cataclysm so vast the ground itself seemed to flinch, as if the buried corpse of this world still remembered how to feel pain.
Eira barely glanced: "Whatever their plan may be, the One Above certainly appears to want herself positioned as a force of help to you."
Her eyes drifted toward Consort, who remained several paces away with both hands planted upon her hips, her short kimono whipping in the murderous wind while the cold failed to leave so much as frost upon her exposed skin. The thin silk rode higher with every violent gust, baring the full, heavy curve of her round ass and the long, strong lines of her thighs without a single care, the soft weight of her breasts shifting against the fabric as if even this apocalyptic winter existed only to display her:
"That does not mean we know where that help ends, Master. How do we know they will not stab you in the back and take the Coffer for themselves?"
Phei’s smile did not disappear.
Eira continued, her voice growing more serious: "Powerful as the One Above may be, she must know what lies inside that treasury. Everyone who knows even a fraction of the Coffer’s history understands the absurdity of its wealth. Treasures, resources, cultivation materials, things gathered from the World of Powers before these families were ever reduced to ruling this little Earth Realm."
She folded her tiny arms before she assumed a slightly bigger form or her body. "Even someone like her would know what could be built with resources accumulated across that many centuries. Armies that could be raised with it; entire realms could be supplied by that thing Master. If she wants it, Master, we would be bringing one of her strongest servants directly beside the prize. We might as well be handing it to her ourselves."
Phei looked toward Consort.
The Head Maid looked back.
Her expression remained composed enough that discussing the possibility of her robbing them apparently ranked somewhere beneath weather commentary— as if the idea of betrayal was less interesting than deciding whether the wind was worth acknowledging.
A tremendous crack split the wasteland.
Phei smiled: "That’s why she’s distracting Danton as far away as she can while we take on Danton’s army, isn’t it, my dear fairy?"
Eira’s eyes narrowed.
There that expression of his.
She knew that expression on her Master far too well by now. It was the same irritating little confidence that appeared whenever Phei had already arranged something inside his head and decided everyone else could receive the explanation only when the universe became dramatic enough to deserve it.
"You have another plan." Phei said nothing.
Eira floated slightly closer: "Master."
He still nothing. "You have a hidden plan I do not know about, do you not?"
Rather than answer, Phei slowly turned away from her and surveyed the wasteland around them.
The place was monstrous.
Even after standing there for several minutes, his mind still resisted the scale of it. Ice extended farther than ordinary sight could ever hope to follow, great plains split by ravines, buried mountain chains and shattered glaciers whose exposed walls revealed layer after layer of ancient frozen history.
Storm fronts travelled across the landscape like moving continents.
Above them, the atmosphere remained crowded with descending ice masses that resembled meteorites, fragments of some impossible frozen destruction still raining upon this forgotten edge of the world— a continuous judgment falling from a sky that had long since abandoned any hope of mercy.
Phei released a long breath.
The vapor froze almost immediately.
"To think the Coffer was hidden in a place that makes my powers feel even more infinite."
Eira blinked.
Phei spread his awareness.
Void-Ice answered first and the entire wasteland seemed to whisper against him.
There was so much ice here that separating his own elemental affinity from the environment became almost pointless. Every buried sheet, every glacier, every airborne needle of frost and every distant frozen ridge carried something his senses instinctively understood.
Infinity Control rested over his Void-Ice like an absolute hand, while beneath it True Void Sense reached into the absences between matter, space and existence itself.
The result was strange.
’Beautifully strange.’
Phei’s consciousness seemed to scratch against distances his eyes could never cross and beyond his Void awareness had ended while they were still on the Island.
He frowned slightly. "What even is this place?"
Eira rotated in the air and pointed toward a direction where nothing but storm and frozen emptiness could be seen.
"We are standing at one of the furthest edges of the Earth Realm."
Phei looked toward where she indicated.
"The Legacy Families first arrived here when they were first cast out of the World of Powers and exiled into Earth." Eira’s voice carried a faint trace of old history now, the playful fairy giving way to the being who had seen far too many forgotten ages: "Arnactica."
Phei’s brows rose.
Eira pointed farther: "Beyond the lands mortals know, beyond the regions their instruments can properly reach, there is another boundary."
Phei focused.
His eyes saw nothing but his True Void Sense did.
Something else indeed existed there.
Far beyond the ruined horizon, where the storms should have continued without interruption, his perception touched a wrongness.
A boundary.
It was extraordinarily distant, yet the combination of True Void Sense and the immeasurable ocean of ice surrounding them allowed his awareness to brush its outermost edge. The sensation was faint enough that an instant of distraction might have lost it completely, but once Phei found it, he could no longer mistake it for ordinary space.
Existence changed there.
The Void itself seemed to hesitate.
The frozen world continued physically toward that distant line, yet his perception felt as though the Earth Realm had reached the edge of a page and something beyond it had begun writing in another language.
