Chapter 512 - 510: Black Abyss Comes Looking
Chapter 512: Chapter 510: Black Abyss Comes Looking
The great tomb over there.
It was nurturing a type of plague Demon.
An actual disease that had transformed into a plague Demon.
Normally, it would be impossible for such a terrifying plague Demon to appear.
But with the power of a Dao Path reinforcing the great tomb, a plague Demon was born.
’Perhaps this is also why Li Renren was able to suddenly reach the third step of the Medical Dao Path.’
’That guy...’
’He can probably treat his own lifespan now.’
The power within his body was more than enough to let him live for a thousand years.
"Tsk..."
’I’ll see what he chooses.’
Su Qing grinned. This was why extraordinary beings ultimately didn’t associate with mortals.
They were truly no longer on the same level.
’With that kid’s ability, he could probably reach the fourth step of his Dao Path and roam the Cosmos, immortal.’
Su Qing glanced at the power of Li Renren’s Medical Dao Path.
He made a fair assessment.
’That kid has already transcended the mortal world.’
’There’s hardly a disease in the world he can’t cure.’
After a glance, Su Qing looked away.
He took a stroll around the city.
"Divine Physician Su, where are you headed? I can show you the way."
"Oh, there’s no need," Su Qing said, looking with some exasperation at a man trying to curry favor.
’Show me the way? I’ve been here for three years.’
"Divine Physician Su, you’re looking so well."
"Thank you for the compliment. This is just the result of a doctor taking care of his own body. It’s a normal complexion."
Su Qing responded to each of them in turn.
However, the spiritual light in his eyes gave Su Qing an inviolable air, to be admired from a distance but never disrespected.
It made many of the women who would normally try to flirt with him not dare to even open their mouths.
Su Qing’s gaze was too cold, a detachment that spoke of indifference.
Though he was standing right there, he felt as distant as if separated by a thousand mountain peaks.
’A little stroll really improves one’s mood.’ Su Qing thought as he took in the city’s scenery.
He also enjoyed the bustling energy of the people nearby.
It was a stark contrast to his time in Cultivation.
’I’ve had my walk. Time to head back.’
Su Qing was just trying to clear his head. He had only gained a little over twenty thousand Skill Level points.
Just over twenty thousand in three years.
It wasn’t that much.
If he had obtained the Poison Absorption Body earlier, his Cultivation wouldn’t have been so slow.
"Doctor Su, are you taking a day off?"
"Yes, more or less. I’m taking the day off."
"Everyone, please go to Doctor Li for your consultations."
"His medical skills are far better than mine."
Su Qing smiled and gestured toward Li Renren.
There was nothing to be done about it.
Li Renren’s medical skills were truly formidable.
In fact, when it came to treating diseases, Li Renren’s medical arts, reinforced by his Dao Path, were stronger than Su Qing’s own abilities.
Su Qing could cure any disease, but not through his own medical skills. He used overwhelmingly powerful and unnatural methods.
For the mere ailments of mortals, Su Qing could resolve them effortlessly.
He didn’t even need to use medical skills. Simply infusing a mortal’s body with his Magical Power was enough to let a mortal experience a taste of Longevity.
A single wisp of Su Qing’s Magical Power could allow a mortal to be completely reborn.
Today, Su Qing was by himself in a small courtyard.
He sat to one side, silently watching the sky.
This was a moment of absolute relaxation.
He didn’t need to think about a single thing.
He just wanted to be alone in peace.
Doing absolutely nothing.
This rest lasted the entire day.
Su Qing’s main body entered secluded Cultivation once again.
His clone came out to continue his work as a doctor.
...
...
"Next, for a prescription," Su Qing’s clone said.
Very few people came to him for consultations.
They had all gone to the Qinghe Medical Clinic across the street.
And yet, no one could figure out how Su Qing made a living from his clinic.
"Doctor, can you fill this prescription?"
A crisp, clear voice reached Su Qing’s ears.
Su Qing ignored the voice completely.
He took the prescription slip and glanced at it.
His brow furrowed in irritation as he looked up at a veiled woman.
Su Qing snapped, "If you’re not here for medicine, step aside."
There were quite a few people waiting to have their prescriptions filled.
The prescription she’d given him listed only one item: "Su Qing, three taels."
There was no such medicinal herb named ’Su Qing’.
She was clearly just here to tease him.
That’s why Su Qing rebuked her so bluntly.
The woman simply took her prescription slip and sat down to the side of the clinic.
Su Qing frowned.
He ignored her.
’This body of mine has no special abilities, so I don’t know what she’s here for.’
’I can sense she might be a martial artist, but I don’t know what kind of trouble she’s looking for.’
’It’s obvious I don’t know her.’
"Next."
Filling prescriptions was a quick process.
More importantly, Su Qing noticed that the number of patients had recently increased.
It seemed they were all filling the same prescription.
Several of the herb drawers in Su Qing’s medicine cabinet were now empty of the required ingredients.
"The medicine is out of stock."
"If you have this same prescription, please go buy the medicine somewhere else," Su Qing announced, holding up one of the slips.
Many of the people left.
Gradually, the number of customers dwindled.
And now, only Su Qing and the woman were left in the clinic.
Su Qing looked at her, puzzled.
"Miss, what can I do for you?"
"If you’re just here to make fun of me, please leave."
Su Qing said, being as polite as he could to the tall woman.
The woman wore a white gauze dress and had a very elegant air about her.
She just sat there quietly.
"And here I thought you’d managed to disappear for good."
The moment she spoke, Su Qing’s body shuddered.
He quickly reached out and pulled off her veil.
"..."
When Su Qing saw her face, he fell silent for a long time.
"You managed to find me even here?"
Su Qing looked at the woman before him, exasperated.
Clearly, this was a woman who made Su Qing afraid.
"Was it that hard to find this place?"
"It only took a little bit of Time."
"I heard someone chanting your name in a nearby Star Sea, so I naturally came to take a look. It was easy to tell it was you."
"Oh?"
"I see. It looks like next time I’ll have to change my name and my face."
Su Qing chuckled.
"This place is quite remote."
"I’ve already taken care of things with your enemies. Why are you still hiding?"
"I don’t know," Su Qing replied defiantly.
He asked lightly, "By the way, are we really that close?"
"But you have his aura," Black Abyss insisted, just as she always did.
Su Qing felt helpless.
"I don’t have it, I’m not him, you’re mistaken."
"I’ve never met you."
"You only met Su Hongshang after you achieved the Thirteenth Realm."
"And that wasn’t your true body. I really don’t know your true self."
Su Qing knew for a fact that he would never have associated with someone from the Thirteenth Realm.
Not in his past life, not in this one. Su Qing had never known Black Abyss.
"But I remember you," Black Abyss said, her tone just as serious.
"I don’t know you," Su Qing said wearily.
Someone else arrived.
It was a farmer, his skin tanned dark and his hands thick with calluses.
However, seeing Su Qing talking with a beautiful woman, he was hesitant to speak. He just wanted to wait for Su Qing and Black Abyss to finish their argument.
When Su Qing saw him, he asked, "Are you here for a prescription or a consultation?"
"A prescription, Divine Physician Su," the man said with a simple-hearted look, handing over a prescription slip with both hands.
Most common folk were illiterate, so Su Qing always had to read the prescriptions for them.
Or, when they came to get medicine, they would just match the characters one by one against a copy, generally not knowing what the words actually meant.
"I’m completely out of the ingredients for this prescription."
"You’ll have to wait until tomorrow." He was more or less out of all those herbs.
Su Qing handed the prescription slip back to the farmer.
"Go to Divine Physician Li’s to get your medicine. If you’re too late, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow."
