My Superpower Leads Me to Murderers
Chapter 159: Seeing and a New Ability
Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Seeing and a New Ability
Dexter Bishop’s expression twisted grotesquely with excitement.
"Such a tough guess, isn’t it? Which building did I put the bomb under?" Dexter Bishop seemed oblivious to the ugly turn Evan Keller’s expression had taken. He just kept talking, excitedly pounding the table.
"I was so torn at the time. The first building is pretty good, lots of people coming and going, and plenty of elderly people and kids hanging around. If the bomb goes off, I guarantee a lot of them will be buried underneath."
"But the building behind it is nice too. I remember your family lives there, right? Hey, what do you think? Where did I put the bomb?"
As he spoke, Dexter Bishop put on a look of deep distress.
Everyone, both inside and outside the interrogation room, wore grim expressions—everyone except Dexter Bishop.
Evan Keller stared at Dexter Bishop for a few seconds before turning and leaving the interrogation room. With no time for further discussion, he called out to the chief, "I have to go check it out!"
The other two people in the interrogation room couldn’t stay any longer either and quickly exited.
With a potential second bomb not yet disarmed and posing a major threat, continuing the interrogation was no longer the top priority.
Dealing with the bomb was what mattered most.
As for why they didn’t continue interrogating Dexter Bishop to get the exact location?
Given his current state, it was obviously impossible. He was clearly determined to drag more people down with him.
Under these circumstances, wasting any more time on him would be the stupidest thing to do.
"Chief, this is an emergency. We’ll take the other guys and follow. We need to search that complex immediately and evacuate the residents," one of the officers from the interrogation room said as he came out and looked at the chief.
The chief could only nod in agreement.
At the same time, he remembered to call East Varden and ask them to send some people over to help.
Everyone except those left to guard the station ran out, rushing over to help as fast as they could.
Staring at the suddenly empty hallway and at Dexter Bishop roaring with laughter—even convulsing with it—in the interrogation room, Zoe Sawyer bit her lower lip.
’No, I can’t just sit here and wait for disaster.’
Zoe Sawyer paced back and forth anxiously. Heath Hale glanced at Zoe, then at Dexter Bishop inside the interrogation room.
"Alright, you go back to the office and wait. I’m going to help," Heath Hale said, patting Zoe Sawyer’s shoulder. He gave Barry Quinn and Monkey a look, signaling them to take Zoe back.
’One person might not make a huge difference, but it’s better than doing nothing at all.’
’Besides, what if I’m the one person they need?’
Heath Hale didn’t want to gamble on that possibility.
With that, Heath Hale turned to leave, his steps hurried and anxious.
Before he could get far, Zoe Sawyer ran up and grabbed his arm.
Zoe Sawyer’s eyes lit up. "I can help! The Axeman! Remember the Axeman case? I did it then, didn’t I?"
It had just occurred to Zoe Sawyer. Back then, she had used the door’s ability to trace back to the scene of the Axeman’s murders.
Using that backtracking, she not only saw the killer’s face but also brought back a strand of his hair.
’Murder is a crime, and so is planting a bomb!’
’That means I can definitely use the door again to find out exactly where Dexter Bishop planted his bomb!’
Heath Hale clearly remembered it too. His eyes lit up instantly. "Let’s try it!"
The four of them rushed back to the office as fast as they could. Before they even entered, they saw Lynn Grant standing by the door, waiting for them.
Their eyes met. Lynn Grant managed a smile and said to Zoe Sawyer, "Zoe, we’re counting on you."
Her parents also lived in The Lumina.
Although the four parents had an unconventional relationship, they were still very close.
The neighbors were all kind and friendly; they didn’t deserve to be threatened like this.
Zoe Sawyer had no time to reply. She just nodded at Lynn Grant, grabbed a notebook from her desk, and led Heath Hale and the other two to her private office.
As soon as the door was closed, Zoe Sawyer shut her eyes, pictured Dexter Bishop’s face, and mentally chanted the word "bomb" over and over.
The three men behind her looked extremely tense but didn’t dare to speak, afraid of disturbing Zoe Sawyer.
’It’s happening!’
Zoe Sawyer’s eyes flew open, and she pulled the door open.
Just then, two lines of white text appeared on the door.
Zoe Sawyer looked closely, and her expression changed drastically.
The first line was today’s date.
The second line read that the two brothers, Evan Keller and Frank Keller, along with Evan Keller’s team, would die in an explosion at four o’clock this afternoon.
Then, the second line of text flickered, and Frank Keller’s name disappeared, leaving only Evan Keller’s.
Just as she was about to speak, a figure appeared in Zoe Sawyer’s peripheral vision, carefully cradling something in his arms.
It was Dexter Bishop, the man they had arrested today.
Zoe Sawyer composed herself and focused on observing everything in front of her.
From her perspective, she was looking at an empty room piled with building materials. The outermost materials were covered in a thick layer of dust, suggesting they had been sitting here unused for a long time.
"Who would’ve thought I’d bury the bomb here," Dexter Bishop said, casually picking up a nearby wooden plank and tossing it aside.
He then carefully took the box from his arms and placed it in a corner of the room.
Zoe Sawyer reached out her hand, trying to grab Dexter Bishop’s arm to stop him, wanting to snatch the box with the bomb from his hands.
But this time, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get her hand through.
She was completely unable to interfere with his actions like she had last time.
Zoe Sawyer could only watch helplessly as Dexter Bishop finished setting up the bomb, then found a chance to slip out of the room.
Powerless to stop him, Zoe Sawyer could only scan her surroundings, trying not to miss a single detail.
Before she could see anything more, the door suddenly threw Zoe Sawyer back and slammed shut.
Heath Hale caught Zoe Sawyer immediately, took the tissue Barry Quinn handed him, and carefully wiped the sweat from her forehead.
Only then did Zoe Sawyer realize her back was soaked with sweat.
"What happened? How did you end up like this?" Heath Hale had so many questions he wanted to ask.
He wanted to know what Zoe Sawyer had seen and why the door had suddenly thrown her back.
But in the end, the words that came out were of concern for her well-being.
Zoe Sawyer had no time to explain. "No time for that, call Evan Keller now!"
While the call was connecting, Zoe Sawyer quickly told Heath Hale what she had seen on the door.
This had to be her new ability, but it only showed the time and the event, not the specific location. ℴ
Otherwise, they could have used that clue to find the bomb directly!
As for being thrown back by the door, it was because the toll was too great, and her mind and body couldn’t take it anymore.
Heath Hale glanced at the time on his phone. Less than forty minutes left!
Soon, the call connected.
"Evan, where is Frank now?!"
