My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 974 - 977: You Apologize When Told—Are You a Dog?
The woman wore a white mask on her face, revealing a pair of beautiful eyes that made it clear she was a stunning beauty.
"Yes, I’ve finished the paintings for your store. Come take a look and see if they meet your expectations," Selina Sloan spread several paintings across the coffee table.
"Melody, let me introduce someone to you!" Kiki Sutton pulled Melody Thorne over. "This is the famous painting master, Selina Sloan. Her artworks fetch quite the high prices at auctions. I really adore her paintings, so I specially invited her for the opening of my cafe. What do you think?"
Melody Thorne looked at the paintings, noticing the profound skill behind them. Though she didn’t fully understand, she could still appreciate them.
"They’re quite good," Melody Thorne nodded. "I also need a few paintings for my villa. Miss Sloan, could I commission some from you as well? I want to hang them in the villa’s hall and bedrooms."
"Miss Thorne, you’re too kind. I’m just painting casually; my works aren’t worthy of such esteemed places," Selina Sloan politely declined.
Melody Thorne couldn’t help but glance at her a couple more times.
"No need for modesty, Miss Sloan. I trust Kiki’s taste," Melody Thorne smiled, "It’s settled then. Could you deliver them to Quinn Villa in a few days? I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave now."
"Melody, won’t you stay awhile?"
"Behave, I’m the boss here. I’ll definitely be around often!" Melody Thorne caressed Kiki Sutton’s cheek. "I’m leaving."
Kiki Sutton: "..."
Melody Thorne opened the car door and got in. Nina King called to discuss some company affairs as she paused for a moment.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Selina Sloan walking out of the cafe, her steps somewhat hurried.
Selina accidentally bumped into another woman.
"Hey, are you blind? Do you know how expensive the clothes I’m wearing are?" The woman shoved Selina Sloan aside with one hand.
"Apologize to me right now!"
"Sorry, I didn’t mean to."
"Oh, so obedient, huh?" the woman sneered, "I tell you to apologize and you do it. Are you a dog?"
Selina Sloan tried to avoid the woman and walk away.
"Hey, didn’t you hear me?" the woman grabbed Selina Sloan and pushed her to the ground.
Taken by surprise, Selina Sloan fell to the ground, and her mask suddenly came off, revealing the rest of her face — a long, terrifying scar!
"Ah, a ghost!" the woman shrieked, fleeing in panic.
Selina Sloan hurriedly covered half of her face and left in a rush!
Disfigured?
Melody Thorne hung up the phone, watching Selina Sloan’s silhouette disappear before driving away.
On the top floor of The Zenith Hotel, Nathan Knight held a glass of red wine, smiling at the woman in front of him. "It’s been ages since we spent time drinking and chatting like this. I remember back in school, I’d wait for you on the rooftop anytime I had the chance."
The red liquid in the wine glass reflected Yulia O’Connell’s absolutely stunning face, her clear eyes seemingly lost in memories.
But those times had long passed.
From the reflection in the red liquid, she saw herself unhappily, sensing that being with Nathan Knight would not bring back the feelings of the past.
"Little Yulia," Nathan Knight stood up, his slender fingers holding the wine glass as he walked over and crouched down in front of her. His deep, elongated eyes gazed intently, "The people I’ve deployed are about to take action. I don’t want you to assist Cole O’Connell. This time, let’s have a real duel, okay? Please don’t get involved. I fear you’ll get hurt."
Yulia O’Connell lowered her head, meeting his gaze, "Nathan Knight, we’ve already passed that point. What’s the point in this? Stealing O’Connell Family’s collaboration secrets isn’t the mark of a gentleman. Fairness doesn’t exist in this!"
