My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 1081: You Must Be Worse Off Than Me
Chapter 1081: Chapter 1084: You Must Be Worse Off Than Me
Even if Selina Sloan is willing to forgive him, he won’t forgive himself.
“Luckily, Selina will certainly forgive you now that Hanna has left. Don’t worry.”
Elias Hale waited for ten minutes, and the blood test report came through. Melody Thorne stood to the side, unable to understand it, but she could see Elias Hale’s increasingly grave expression.
“Is it serious? Or did he really give me something that will make me wish I were dead? But I don’t feel anything right now.”
Elias Hale stared at the report and spoke, “Currently, I’m not sure what kind of drug he gave you, but I can confirm that when this drug eventually acts up, it will be very potent. It’s going deep into your bones and blood. What do you think?”
Melody Thorne furrowed her brows, “Why does that Congressman have so many kinds of drugs? If even you can’t tell what it is, then I’m doomed, aren’t I? He hates me so much; I destroyed everything for him. Even if there is an antidote, he won’t give it to me!”
“I can only try. You better inform Harold Chapman and let him be ready to access it anytime. This will help me identify the drug!”
“Okay, I’ll explain it to Harold,” Melody Thorne replied.
Ding! Melody Thorne received a text message on her phone, surprisingly from Hanna.
[Melody Thorne, don’t think that just because my brother made me leave, you’re safe. I tell you, it’s impossible. As long as I, Hanna, am alive, I will never let you go. I want you to pay in blood, and your fate will be worse than mine.]
Ding! Another message came through, also from Hanna. This time it was a selfie, where Hanna provocatively looked at the camera and flipped the bird. Behind her was a beautiful scenery with buildings, but it was pixelated so the exact location couldn’t be seen. One thing was clear: Hanna had escaped!
“It seems like your Hale Family is raising a bunch of useless people. Your own family is more likely to have traitors. Hanna just fled and did so arrogantly. If we don’t find her, we won’t know what she might do next!”
Elias Hale’s gaze was fixed on the screen in Melody Thorne’s hand. She had indeed escaped, and again!
Melody Thorne went to Jared Quinn’s company to find him and leaned lethargically on the desk.
Jared Quinn closed the document and touched her head with his large hand, “What’s wrong?”
Whenever Jared Quinn touched her head like this, Melody Thorne would think of these words: he wasn’t petting her head, but the head of a little pet.
“Don’t touch my head,” Melody Thorne removed the big hand, continuing to lean listlessly on the desk.
“Tell me what’s up?” Jared Quinn’s big hand reached down to tickle her.
“Haha, stop it, stop it,” Melody Thorne dodged. She was always afraid someone might tickle her.
“Will you say?”
“I’ll say,” Melody Thorne thought back to the conversation with Elias Hale and recounted it to Jared Quinn.
“A friend of mine said she was dosed with something by someone, but doesn’t know what kind. Apparently, it’s very potent, but she herself doesn’t feel it. I’m just worried about her.”
“Your friend?” Jared Quinn squinted, a gleam passing through his deep eyes.
But he didn’t react much beyond that.
“Yeah, a friend,”
Actually, it’s her!
“Don’t worry, whatever it is, it will all be okay,” Jared Quinn reassured her by ruffling her hair. “I have a meeting in a while, do you want to go to the office and take a nap first?”
