My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World
Chapter 137: Another Sugar Mommy?
Chapter 137: Chapter 137: Another Sugar Mommy?
Long, immaculate dark hair.
Eyes a distinct, pale, evaluating shade of grey-silver.
Posture cold, perfect, unyielding, the same military presence she carried into official guild reviews and cross-sector arbitration.
She didn’t look like a mother arriving for a chat. She looked like a verdict that had decided to walk.
"Long time no see," Cecilia said.
She stepped into the Overwatch analysis room as if the threshold belonged to her by habit.
Her gaze found the compatibility report and stayed there for a full minute, reading without asking permission, silver eyes moving across triad baseline, primary climb, secondary volatility.
Jenna rose.
"...Cecilia."
"Jenna."
A nod precise enough to cut glass.
Then, still on the pane: "That’s my daughter, huh?"
Mira quietly locked the deeper logs and left the compatibility summary visible, enough courtesy, not enough vulnerability.
Jenna didn’t thank her out loud.
"Rei’s secondary link is on that packet by her choice and board acceptance," Jenna said.
"Not by abduction."
Cecilia’s mouth almost smiled.
"I didn’t accuse you of kidnapping. Yet."
She tilted her head at the numbers.
"Thirty-two with him. Forty-five for your girl. Triad at thirty-two. You’ve been busy."
"We’ve been preparing for Inverse Intake."
"Scramble."
Cecilia used the student word without warmth.
"Open tether. Hooks. Children hunting support under Empress optics. And somehow my daughter is listed beside an unregistered anomaly your house pulled out of a holding narrative."
Jenna kept her hands relaxed at her sides.
"Your daughter requested joint training. She signed maximum binding language on her own line. She is not scenery on my slate."
"She also failed to disclose the full shape of him to me in a timely fashion."
Cecilia finally looked away from the graph and fully at Jenna.
"That is a Lawless problem. It is also now an Everheart adjacency problem. When Rei attaches, she attaches with teeth. You know that."
"I know."
"Is he stable?"
"Stable enough for provisional dual filing. Not a public miracle. Not a lab clean."
Jenna did not offer the Empress detail.
Cecilia’s silver eyes suggested she might already hold pieces Jenna preferred to keep unconfirmed in this room.
Mira cleared her throat.
"Their practical cooperation has improved under fail conditions. Personal friction remains. It hasn’t collapsed residual work."
Cecilia acknowledged Mira with the barest glance, then returned to Jenna.
"I’m not here to tear your packet on a courtesy visit. I’m here because Sector channels are already whispering that your support is interesting, and my child is standing close enough to catch fire with him."
"Then say what you want," Jenna said.
"Observation access during the pre-intake window. Not control. Not removal. Eyes."
Cecilia’s voice stayed level.
"If Rei’s instability spikes because of him, I intervene. If he becomes a vector that paints Lawless into an Empress dispute, I intervene. If your primary arrangement tries to silently erase my daughter after using her for score architecture, I don’t ask politely."
Jenna’s answer came without theater.
"You won’t get erasure. Review triggers cut both ways. You also won’t get to treat my hall like Lawless annex without notice."
"Notice is what this is."
Cecilia’s gaze flicked once more to the Gianna line, forty-five percent, primary, climbing.
"Your daughter is deeper in than mine. That can be strength. It can also be a single point of failure if the boy’s core does something the board doesn’t have language for."
"I’m aware of my daughter’s depth."
"Are you aware of your own?" Cecilia asked, almost mildly.
"Handlers who sleep near anomalies sometimes forget which graph they’re protecting."
The room chilled.
Jenna didn’t rise to the bait with volume.
"If you came to insult my discipline, you wasted travel. If you came to protect Rei, we can discuss boundaries that don’t sabotage a dual unit one week from practical gates."
Cecilia held the silence long enough to make it a tool, then nodded once.
"I’ll send a liaison parameters list before night. Non-invasive monitoring. Rei remains free to train here unless her metrics collapse."
A pause.
"And Jenna. When the test starts, remember that every house with a gold node will be doing arithmetic. Some of that arithmetic includes removing inconvenient secondaries."
"She’s not inconvenient on my form," Jenna said.
Cecilia’s silver eyes didn’t blink.
"Oh, I’m not talking about Rei."
The correction landed soft and precise.
"I’m talking about dear Gianna. You know I have high hopes for her. It would be a shame... if a support ruined her forever, isn’t it?"
The room’s temperature plummeted.
Pressure dropped so hard Mira’s ears popped.
Jenna’s glare locked on Cecilia, and the irises of her eyes washed toward white, telepathic dominance bleeding into the visible spectrum, the S-rank grid of her class starting to unfold without permission from manners.
Something began forming around Cecilia’s hands in answer: a cold, structured sheen, Lawless authority answering Everheart’s threat in the language houses used when words stopped being enough.
Mira sweated hard between them, stylus forgotten.
"Uh... please... calm down. Both of you. This room is not rated for a full—"
The stare held.
Seconds stretched.
Then Jenna forced the white back from her eyes by inches, breath controlled, fingers uncurling against the chair back.
The pressure eased without vanishing.
Cecilia’s hand-glow thinned and vanished as it had never been offered.
"You won’t get to see the training before the test," Jenna said.
Absolute.
"Get permission from an Empress if you want eyes on my hall."
Cecilia’s head tilted.
"Keeping him safe?"
"Keeping him hidden," Jenna said.
"From people like you."
"Hmm."
Cecilia smiled again, small and unkind.
"I hope he makes my daughter pass the test at least."
She exited without another threat that needed volume.
The compatibility panes kept glowing as if nothing in the air had nearly become a cross-sector incident.
Mira braced both hands on the console.
"Jenna—"
"Log the visit. If Lawless liaison parameters arrive before night, route them through me only."
Jenna’s eyes were her own color again.
"And if Cecilia tries to turn Gianna into leverage in any channel, I want it on my desk before rumor becomes policy."
Mira nodded, still pale.
"Understood."
Outside, the guild’s main artery performed its usual theater of respect.
Cadets and ranked women bowed as Cecilia Lawless walked the corridor with immaculate dark hair and unyielding posture, elegance sharp enough to make the air behave.
She did not acknowledge most of them.
Near the junction from the public training levels, Gianna and I came back from the load block, her still warm from telekinetic work, my presence dialed down to "provisional dual support," the way she had ordered.
The public hall had been noisy, useful, ordinary. I had watched her work in a room not built around me and managed not to start a scene.
Then Gianna’s steps hitched.
I caught her elbow before the stumble became a fall, following her line of sight upward—
—and met pale grey-silver eyes already scanning me like a report.
"...You’re handsome," Cecilia said.
I blinked.
"Uh... thanks? Who—"
"I’m Rei’s mother."
